What I mean is, just before qualifying ends, we could take a note of the fastest lap on the bottom right of the screen, so that when you keep the race data for archiving purposes, you will also have the fastest qualifying time which in my mind is essential data. Just like real racing's most important timing data: race fastest time - qualifying fastest time.
I'm following what you say now. I'm still not used to having that fastest lap timer on screen :guilty:
The only counter I would have to offer, is the off chance that the lap time recorded was bested in the dying seconds of qualifying and missed.
Equally we could take a leaf from the le mans 24 hour and everyone screen grab/photo their tv and send it over to me. But that can take time.
But you raise a valid point.

Whilst I'm here. Tonight's practice room will be open from around 20:00. I will message you if you are already on.

I won't be able to join tonight but think about it, this is a general issue regarding the Sunday Cup as well, and every cup or event that takes place. Fastest qualifying time should be noted and presented along side all other race results. Next year or the year after, we will run a track/car combo we have already raced in the past. What was the fastest qualifying time in order to compare it to the lap times I'm currently doing? What's the all time best qualifying lap and who holds that time?

I should hopefully be on for some laps tonight, but be warned, I have been on the Orange :mischievous:, so may be a bit off the pace. If I dont make it for laps tonight though, have a great race next weekend gents. I won't be there as I am going on holiday next Saturday.

Right gentlemen, it's been a busy weekend. Facing off against some over the pond competition, DDOS attacks and all in the middle of my working week. Because of the aforementioned attack on PSN there were more issues with seeing everyone on track and as such I don't have all of the information from the weekend. I will post all of what I do have and I will open a room this coming Friday to try and compensate.

If I can get on any earlier to run an official lobby then I will let you all know on here.

I changed internet provider yesterday but new router will be delivered on Monday(!) so unfortunately I won't be online this weekend. I wish you guys have a great race tomorrow, enjoy double points and Warren: You got this. Good luck!

Real shame SoKa.
Good luck gentlemen with the Grande Finale.
Changes are I'm still at a party at the start time. We 'll see.

Gary, great to see the evolution in your pictures. Quality mate! Awesome!

That's a shame that you won't be able to defend your position. I was hoping to try and legitimately take you on in the championship. I hope goodwolf shows up so I can at least compete with someone for points :nervous:

I think I've evolved in many ways since my first outing in SC3 all thanks to the guys that compete in the events laid out. Like yourself, Cpt_D, Ade, Will, Warren.... The list goes on. Everyone adds something to the whole. Which keeps me coming back and trying to grow further

And a reminder of the spec and amount of laps to be run tonight.

Will this final race allow theewar to be crowned champion of the first Type R Cup, or will someone else be able to usurp his position. We will know later today.

Here are your rules and timetable

Timetable_zpse4613e61.png

After this race I would like to do a photo of all the cars in attendance. A short 2 lap race where everyone lines up side by side (I'm thinking the outside of 130R).

See you on track tonight 👍

The final countdown is over and the last race in the series is complete. Gentlemen. Thank you all for making this as entertaining as it was week after week.

Now onto the podium. Congratulations to the trophy winners tonight

It would seem that I have been neglecting some of my behind the scenes duties. As this is the case, as much as I would like to get this all wrapped up tonight, I have a bit too much to do. So, as normal, full results tomorrow.

It's been a pleasure racing with you all, but don't retire your cars yet. I have some special events planned for the coming months until next year when proceedings for,

Type R Cup 2

will begin. Likely with some special event warm up races.

See you on track 👍

I've been at it all day and I have your full results

Brian has been given points relative to his 3rd place when he disconnected and the 7 of 28 laps completed.

Here is your final points table

Giving us a Series podium of....

On to some spot awards.

Seeing as the final car is loosely based on a BTCC car I felt it fitting to award the driver who gained the most positions during races some recognition.
This Jack Sears award goes to
For a net 11 positions gained over 5 races.

Goodwolf was next highest with 10 positions over 6 races.

A sneaky wheel colour change and a eagle eyes award needs to go to
Thank you for bringing errors in car spec to my attention in good time to stop it becoming a problem and your gold to orange wheel colour change after Tokyo was noted ;)

A special mention to
for helping me make my mind up on the actual builds themselves. I couldn't have done it without you buddy 👍

Of the 135 practice races that I held, or at least oversaw. Another peice of recognition needs to be given to

&
Between them they must have run as many practice rooms as I did, maybe more. When I was un-able to host rooms during the week.

And finally. I feel attention should be brought to what I think were some of the best overtakes of the series.
This I award to
Giorgio_57Final_zps85acde81.png
for two double overtakes in the same race.
Brands Hatch, lap 19 overtaking SokaGT and GC on Graham Hill bend, and lap 41 overtaking theewar and Cpt_D on Paddock Hill bend.

Well done to Giorgio for the last race win and runner-up in the Championship. Well done too to Will on third in the race and Championship. Well done to Warren for second in the race and congratulations for a well deserved overall Championship win.

Big thanks go to Gary for providing this well thought out, evolving race series. 👍👍

Thank you Ctp. :)

I'd like to congratulate Warren for the series win, giving me a hard time in all the races xD and weescot for making it on the podium of the series. 👍 but congratulations to all the drivers in general. I would also like to thanks Gary for the awesome work he has done to make this series incredible.

Gentlemen, I am sad to report that I will no longer be able to "catch up" on the pictures. I was looking into potential causes for bad online synchronisation and was going through my "game data utility". One missed button press later and I have managed to delete the GT6 file. And with it went any replays and pictures which I hadn't exported to the XMB (pretty much everything except pictures you've seen posted here). As replays are too big to export I cannot do what I had originally intended. If any of you have the replays and want to try your hand at taking some pictures of the last two races, I would be grateful. Otherwise, that is everything done. I will be contacting you individually over the next week to send driver avatar pictures to you and where applicable to get addresses to send, what my wife calls "my gaming crap", otherwise known as prizes, to you.

Keep tabs on this thread, as in a few weeks I will announce details of the first special event of Type R Cup and start taking sign ups. Here's your teaser one more time.
I hope to see some of you on track 👍

Thanks cpt, Pity you couldn't make it, would have been awesome.

Started on 4th Brian took 3rd in the final moments of quali, then off we went, knew I wouldn't bother Warren and giorgio so decided to run at my place and see where I end up. Had Brian keep me company for a few laps until he got disconnected, shame as I was enjoying the racing and company lol. After the disconnect it was really just drive to the line.

Massive congratulations to Warren and giorgio, for the other podium positions, but also to Gary for organising this series and setting up rooms. Has been a great series to run. And with this I have to let you all know that I'll not be competing in ff events in the future, it's taken me this long to try get a grip on the messed up settings gt has and trying to do ff rwd and Mr drive trains and suspension is too much for my tiny wee heed. I will however offer my services as test driver and race marshal for races.

Congratulations to Warren for the championship win and Giorgio_57 for the race win.

Thanks to Gary for all his hard work in organising the series.

Well chuffed to pick up the Jack Sears trophy (especially cos I'm such a massive touring car fan!), and this was a lovely touch for you to add these additional little awards to the series :)

The last race was great fun (even though I was only competing with 3 others, couldn't see anyone else!). Had some great battles with Canary and GC. It was a fun tussle with GC at the end as our pit strategies saw us emerge for the final stint pretty much together. GC got stuck between behind Giorgio (!) as the race leader was on the slower tyres for his last stint whereas GC and I were on the RH's. I caught up GC and then he ran a touch wide at one corner so I nipped through. Then after a couple of very close laps trying to unlap myself from Giorgio I had to be quite assertive and get past (but cleanly) otherwise GC would have been right on my tail again. Great stuff! Well done to Canary too, your racing is really coming on now and sorry about the incident where I had emerged back on track and was slower on the straight than you, and we both went the same way for avoiding action but resulted in some contact.

Looking forward to season 2!

Congratulations to our championship winner Warren, four time race winner in second place Giorgio and very consistent Will in third.

@CTR Driver thank you for this fun championship and keeping me entertained behind the wheel for four months.

Thank you for the endorsement goodwolf. I hope to keep impressing and entertaining as much as I am able.

In other news. I have sent out the prizes this afternoon. They are now in the care of the royal mail. I have sent them 2nd class recorded so be prepared to stalk your postman

The time for teasers is over. Here is the plan for the first
Type R Cup Special Event

The tracks that will be raced will be decided on the evening, by vote. No one will know which track will be used until just before the race. Once a venue has been used I request that everyone participating does not vote for the venue again.
For instance:
If Silverstone GP is Race 1. Silverstone international, Silverstone National and Stowe Circuit should not be voted for in any of the following races.
The only exeption i will allow is Nordshleife/Nürburgring 24H and Nürburgring GP/F or GP/D as they are significantly different tracks.

Weather Will be used.
If a track has a weather feature it will be used. This very much depends on you! Your vote determines the track, which in turn decides if weather will be used.

In the event weather is used, the "weather at race start" will be chosen by a random number placed into a formula.
In this case @WarriusZero has kindly allowed me to use his Random Weather Algorithm which he uses in Zero Cup
You can read more about it in the Zero Cup Rule Book: Random weather.

Time Progression will be set to 3 when any track has time progression.
Weather changeability will be set to 10.

During the course of this event the tyres that will be used will depend on the track surface
  • Asphalt = Racing Hard/Racing Intermediate/Racing Wet (Depending on weather)
  • Gravel and Dirt = Dirt Tyres
  • Snow and Ice = Snow Tyres
You may use any of the suspension types for the car, Rally/Racing:Hard/Racing:Soft/Fully Customizable Suspension.
You may also have more than one car built to spec and switch car if you choose. I ask that they are painted the same colours to avoid confusion.
If you leave the room for whatever reason, you will be requested to pull over at the earliest safe opportunity and re-join the back of the pack, so as not to gain an unfair advantage with the reverse grid settings. Otherwise you may forfeit your points for that race.

Scoring will be documented as the event progresses on a GoogleDocs Document with a link Posted in this thread to allow everyone access to monitor their overall postion. The scoring will be as follows.
1st=16pts, 2nd=15pts, 3rd=14pts, 4th=13pts, 5th=12pts, 6th=11pts, 7th=10pts, 8th=9pts, 9th=8pts, 10th=7pts, 11th=6pts, 12th=5pts, 13th=4pts, 14th=3pts, 15th=2pts, 16th=1pt.

If you have any questions please ask.

Sign ups for this event are now open.

I see there's been a mad rush to sign up for this Gary, I'd better put my name down for this before it's full.

240 minutes? Surely it's 150 👍

It occurred to me that I hadn't added the car build to the Op for anyone new, who might have been interested in joining in the 6 race sprint on October 11th. Here's what has been added. I'm sure you'll let me know if I've missed anything. And I hope I can add a few more names to the sign up list 👍

  • Fully customizable suspension
  • Racing brakes
  • Fully customizable gearbox
  • Limited slip differential

  • Sports computer
  • Racing exhaust
  • Isometric exhaust manifold
  • Catalytic converter: Sports
