I've had a request to start the race early if everyone is present and ready to start qualifying at 20:30. Otherwise we will continue as usual. And here are the timetable and rules graphics which I forgot to put up yesterday :dunce:

So so annoyed, the update was just too big to download in time and wouldn't let me use online features without it... Trust it to be such a huge file and I discovered it as I was logging on to join the race.

Just a suggestion, but perhaps a warning could be put on here for those of us that don't get to practice online so often whether any updates are likely to occur and need to be downloaded before the race :)

Have fun guys, wish I was there.

Tonight's Podium, Great racing by all tonight. There were a few battles throughout the pack, some which lasted almost the entire race.

You may notice a slight addition to the pictures. They are getting closer to how they will be returned to you.

With stage three of the series over its upgrade time.

Now we get all the goodies

One final piece of business.
Rooms are set to require a tyre type change, If you plan to do a one stop race you will need to use both compounds. In the event that more pit stops are used you may use only two sets of the option (fast) tyre and fulfill the quarter race distance on the prime (slow) compound.

Congratulations to our three podium sitters.

As usual, full results to be posted tomorrow.

Onward to Spa and the final phase of the championship.

Great work Gary. What a race! I knew I wouldnt match the front runners time, and with a last minute change to an untried dutch gearbox, my work was cut out. A few tweaks to said "Dutch" gearbox, and I was ready. Lights went out, and it was go go go. I had a tyre strategy in mind, and that was to get 15 on the SS, then another 15 on the SM, then bang in the last 10 laps on the second set of SS boots. This worked well for me, and there was constant close racing with GC and Teh_Lotus for most of the duration of the race. After my second stop, I managed my fastest time of 1:29.1xx, and slowly managed to catch Damon, and GC, who was on a 1 stop strategy. Great close racing, and well done to the podium.

Numbers are being used, as you may have gathered from some of the more recent posts. Thanks to update 1.10.
I might be able to get away with doctoring one of the other car graphics. I just need time to experiment.

So after my 3rd Phantom piss during sundays pre race practice,it was Qualification time.My goal was top 5 0n the grid.I knew from practice over the week that 3 or 4 of the guys where on mid 28's and my own time was about the same,if not a 10th or 2 slower. After 15mins I found myself 3rd on the grid.I had SoKa and Giorgio up front and Cpt-D with Weescotman in 4th and 5th,I was the meat in the sandwhich.Lights go green and all I wanted to do was hold 3rd place in and out of the first turn,Job done.SoKa wasted no time in putting the foot down and by 3 or 4 laps we had pulled a gap on the main field with Cpt-D and Weescotman Dropping back just enough for me to focus on staying with the front two and not feel the need to defend 3rd place,Good job really because the two guys up front had turned it up even more over the next 5 laps and staying with them was now my only goal.First Pit stops came around and it was Giorgio who went first,I suspect he done this as it looked to me like he was now being held up behind SoKa,He made a move for the lead about 3 laps back but SoKa had it coverd and let him know it was not going to be that easy.I have to say,I had the best seat in the house to watch two of the quickest guys in the Type R cup go head to head.A few laps later I had SoKa just in front and Weescotman and Cpt-D coming back towards us..Time to decide what my plan was,out the window is what my plan was,Sometimes its best to react to whats going on around you.First pit and it was Sports Soft the guys put on and a small top up of fuel.4th and 5th place came in just as I was getting dropped of the jacks.Out of the pits and I had Giorgio and GC255 on the way.Giorgio went by and I dropped in behind him with GC255 dropping in behind me.A lap later and I was by Giorgio,he must have gone on to the SM tyre.18laps in and SoKa was still running in first and not come in yet and by lap 20 as I went under the tunnel he was in my sights.Lap 21 I had the lead for the first time with Georgio now in 2nd place and Cpt-D now in 3rd,SoKa had ran his tyres for 20laps and down to number 2 on the tyres scale.Hats off to you Sir SoKa,this however put him back in 5th place behind Weescotman.By lap 26 I had made a gap of 15sec back to 2nd place who is now Cpt-D with SoKa now in 3rd place.Time for my last stop and SM tyres which I have to run for 14 laps.Giorgio is now on SS tyres is all the voice in my head kept saying, and I have no Idea what SoKa or Cpt-D are running.Pit Stop done and I get out in front of SoKa with Cpt-D now running in first place and Giorgio now about to take 4th place as Weescotman is making his last pit stop.Lap 30 and I take the lead back form Cpt-D who has just pulled into the pits for his last stop.10 Laps to go and the state of play is myself in first by 3+ sec over SoKa and Giorgio another 8+sec behind that,Ive just ran a 1:29.760 on my SM tyres and looking good on fuel.By Lap 36 things looked the same only SoKa was now 1+sec behind me and Giorgio 6+sec behind us.Man this is going to be a 4lap dash for the cash, can I please just stay on the track and at least get a podium.Lap 39 and I manage to get past GC255 before the first turn which put him between me and SoKa for the next couple of turns which is good because SoKa was now under a sec behind me and its 2 laps to go and Giorgio now 3sec behind us.LAP 40 and its on like donkey kong..Theres only 1.7 sec from 1st to 3rd place as we go into the first turn of the last lap :nervous: and :D at the same time.3 Turns to go and Ive made a gap to SoKa who is now in danger of being passed by Giorgio and as we come round the last turn,I Run for the flag as Giorgio gets up the inside of SoKa to take 2nd place...This was a fantastic race right through the group. to GC255 for putting this together for us......:dopey:

Firstly an apology. It feels as though I'm not able to give the required attention to this series and the upcoming races at the moment. With this in mind I won't be able to host a practice session this Sunday(tomorrow) as I will be on a mini break with my family (curse you lastminute. com ) neither will I be able to host any sessions next week because I will be working night shifts. Making tonight the only practice I will be able to host.

Let's make it a good one

I hope to open the room at 20:00 or soon after.

On another note I am trying to catch up on pictures but only just keeping pace. My holiday will mean I fall further behind but I hope to be caught up by Suzuka.

I would not worry about practice sessions or your time given to the Series Gary. You do a great job keeping all the info updated thats required for the Championship to function 👍 . A Great practice session was had last night by 5 of us and a lot of fun. :dopey:

We can run the through the week, it's not a problem. Most nights either me cpt or Warren are running a room, will post room numbers when we're setting one next. I will host on Tues and Thurs if anyone wants to join, and I'm sure the "other" two will hold a session too. Just hope that French kid that was offering knickers for time last night doesn't show up, that was creepy! Lol

Thank you Will for playing host. It's good to know that things can continue as I had intended, even if I'm not able to do it myself.
And
Thank you for the pictures Damon, mine will be done and posted as soon as I get opportunity. It was a fun race. I just needed to put in a bit more thought into my strategy.

Onwards to the next race and I have the practice times from Spa.

OK so last night me Gary Warren and soka ran some laps on spa, has to be the closest and most fun I've had in ages! So today I'll have a room open in a short while for anyone that wants to run some laps, sort their set up and get a general feel for the place.

I said last night that I think this race will be possibly the defining race of the season, we will all be very close together for a very long time, some corners 2 or 3 wide. But it can be done cleanly and at speed, there's no need to challenge every corner as chances are you'll get passed again for the next. Any news on lap times Gary?
