Arsenal won 2-1 away to Anderlecht after being 1-0 down until the 89th minute!

Liverpool losing to Real? Meh, predictable...

Arsenal seem to pass it about for the majority of their games and in the last 10 minutes they realise there's a game to be won.
Well that seems to sum them up pretty good. They should change their twitter bio to something along them lines.

Exactly. To be honest if it wasn't for Anderlacht wasting chances we'd have lost. Utter terrible performance.

Really good win for Real today, could (and maybe should) have been more goals than 3 though, both ways.

But i'm satisfied with the 3-0 win, and no injuries into El Clásico.

Arsenal v Anderlecht and Real Madrid v Liverpool tonight, Gerrard could be rested as Liverpool have Chelsea on Saturday and Rodgers has hinted that he'll make changes, if/when Ronaldo scores he will equal Raul's CL goalscoring record with 71..

Gerrard, Sterling and Balotelli on the bench for Liverpol, Holy Crap Liverpool are going to get battered!

Liverpool aren't getting battered, they are doing alright. Toure has been awesome, Ronaldo has been crap.....what is happening?!

A big part of me wishes this was Madrid vs last seasons Liverpool team though.

Oddly quiet in here...stout performance from Liverpool so far.

I have no idea how a manager can keep getting away with this, Arsenal blew a 3-0 lead at home against some teenagers.

That penalty miss could bite Juventus in the ass if they end up level on points with Olympiacos when it's all said and done. They would have gained the head-to-head advantage on head-to-head goal difference, but now the Greek side have it on away goals.

BVB can't get any Bundesliga wins since early September, yet they keep destroying their opposition in the CL. :boggled:

Was only able to catch the Zenit-Bayer game, Zenit were the better team throughout most of the match but were just unable to finish, their only goal was clearly offside as well. Bayer on the other hand looked pretty average but were able to cash in on a few defensive lapses. Overall neither team looks like it will provide any surprises.

Maribor 1-1 Chelsea and Man City 1-2 CSKA Moscow, another rubbish week in the CL for English teams with none of the four winning, Chelsea were 1-0 down until Matic equalised but Hazard had a very weak penalty saved in the 85th minute, Man City had Fernandino and Toure sent off, does that mean they are out now?

Messi has tied Raul's record of 71 CL goals. Sort of under the radar, all the talk was about Ronaldo potentially doing it yesterday.

Of course not. They have 2 points, Roma and CSKA both have only 4 each.

Big ask for them to qualify though with Bayern and Roma to play..

Bayern have already clinched first place in the group and have nothing to play for, and Roma look poor recently. That said, if there is winner in Moscow next match day, I'd favour that team to go through.

Just seen Ibrahimi's strike against Chelsea, Man what a goal!!

Some massive games for the English team this week in term of qualification, Arsenal v Dortmund, Ludogorets v Liverpool and Man City v Bayern Munich, Chelsea have a tricky looking tie away to Schalke too

Messi scored his unprecedented 72nd goal and is now the sole record holder for goals in CL/EC history. For now. Ronaldo plays tomorrow.

And oh goody, Lewandowski scores... with his shoulder.

Decent performance by Real, but should have put a few more goals. The win was delightful anyway. :D

And Ludogorets holds Liverpool to a 2-2 draw!

Massive game for Liverpool tonight, Need to beat Basel to go through anything less and they will be out and in the Europa League, so I think its easily the biggest game of their season thus far..

Arsenal away to Galatasaray tonight too, Arsenal already qualified but need to beat Gala and hope Dortmund lose to Anderlecht to finish top..

You get some deluded Liverpool fans, I see this sort of thing all the time on the internet.

Still the greatest. What other English club has won it 5 times? We were handed the toughest possible draw against the champions, Basle (who will reach the final mark my words) and plucky Ludogorets, who were always going to cause problems. Now we can concentrate all our energies on winning title no. 19.

From the BBC comments, I had a good laugh.
