Im watching the grand prix and the darts..just turned it over, who scored??

Ah, I'm not sure of his name, but it was a roughly 15 yard header that should have easily been saved by Given, 1-0 Croatia after 3 minutes.

Unbeaten in 14, 11 clean sheets. And conceded a goal in 2 and a half minutes. Must say I'm more then gutted.

Their group dictates they have to win today to get through. A couple of goals for Ireland and a win, plus a draw against Italy/Spain might just be enough. A loss today could see them grab the wooden spoon going on Italy and Spain's form thus far.

Yeah, Croatia is the must win game for us. Although, beating Italy isn't beyond our capability's.

1-1! Wasn't sure if it had counted at first because I heard a prominent whistle just before the ball went in, but it seems there is a whistle in the crowd. So nonetheless 1-1 :D

Depends if the Italians turn up on the day or not, I agree it's possible, but the Spanish are probably beyond them.

Good goal :) 1-1 game on.

The stadium staff really need to get the whistle of the guy in the crowd. I know it turned off all the Croation's as they just stared at the ref after the goal and it may have been a part of the Croation goal as well.

I thought the goal was going to be disallowed, since the whistle was very loud and clear... good goal though, and a great game so far 👍

Great tackle from the Croatian there and Ireland get the free kick. Bad decision by the ref I think.

Seems the ref is in some way favouring Ireland, I'm not gonna complain though.

Referee's clearly been watching the Premier League, and decided any sliding tackle that's remotely lunging is a foul. Not good for the game, that was a good tackle indeed.

Ireland are most certainly pushing for the lead right now. If they get another goal I know they'll then sit back and try to play the game out. I'd rather see them sit now for a while and get it in the second half.

EDIT: Interesting fact, all 10 of Irelands outfield players have registered a goal in there international careers.

Croatia are infront again just before half time thanks to Jelavic. Unlucky for Ireland, and a poor mistake to make defence-wise.

Shoddy defending by Ireland gift Jelavic a goal and Croatia the lead, the game was reasonable even at that point. 2-1, Ireland need to do it again and more to win this win one.

Excellent minute or so of build up play by Croatia before the goal, really sharp play. It's just Croatia have more talented players at their disposal and they're clicking. 3-1 Croatia, long way back for Ireland the way Croatia are playing.

Y'know the spanish premier was at theyre game today..theres a rumour going round that after the match he was waving a bucket with 'save my country' on it asking for any spare change!

One thing is for sure, the Dutch ref won't be Platini's pick for the final...

And some nice sportsmanship shown by the Paddies...

Well if we had a man down and we were 3-1 up I doubt they would have put the ball up.

Main thing though is, penalty or bring it back for the injury.
Ref's decision: Neither.

So, theres 15 mins left, you need 2 goals just to draw, and you take off your captain and record goalscorer!?!?

So thats it then, they were completly out-classed..they have to improve against spain..otherwise its gonna be a massacre!!

Croatia were better, but Ireland had their chances... all three of Croatia's goals were pretty soft, Ireland had a stonewall penalty denied to them, and they really should have scored near the end. But, if they defend like that against Spain and Italy, they will surely be hung out to dry.
