I'm a defo too now 👍

The race at Silverstone was this past weekend, i got the dates wrong, we didn't go anyhow :dunce:

The only uncertainty i have now is whether to stay over in Newark on Sat night or not. It's probably too late to sort a room out now so i guess i'm commuting.

Famine - are we short of TV's? - i have a heavy but good quality 4:3 25" CRT i could bring if we are desperate.

If you could sling your TV in the back of your car, please do. We've just enough TVs, but only if my big LCD works - which I can't guarantee right now.

Great news 👍 Try giving The Rutland Arms a bell (where we are staying) as I'm sure they might still have something for Sat night... 0870 7522235 - It's pretty affordable too.

Hey, cool lots of people coming! :D

I see i'm down for a 4way power thingy, GT4 and 2 DS2s, that's sorted. I'll bring some head phones too with a small/big jack. Anything else needed? I could bring a camp fire, a guitar and some marshmallows?

I'm booked in for a single room on Saturday evening now... :D They still have a double left, I believe.

Out of curiousimacy, what's the parking like there?

Not looking good for me unfortunately. My Playstation 2 has been scratching my discs so it's off for repair.

Is it alright to come along anyway and just meet everyone?

We don't need your PS2 - we just need you. After 10 hours of racing on Saturday, you'll be warmed up for Sunday.

So... you in? :D

I'm contemplating booking my room for the Friday night too. I had originally planned to leave home at 6am(!) to get to Newark by about 10-ish, but thats going to make it a long day.

I still cant get any money, im aware theres an entry fee but im struggling at the moment.

I can bring biscuits though:D.

It's about £15 per person (£150, ten of us - and so on).

My loan rates are reasonable.

so how many are definates???
i tried to get the hall cheaper so we could cover for the possibility of certain members using funds as an excuse not to come, but sorry it was a no go. Its mark (the caretaker) that costs so much! i KNOW ashley is just looking for a reason not to come and be hammered on the track anyway!!!

i've sorted pizza for saturday (we need to decide which toppings) and i've also sorted prizes as tradition states!!!

sorry ashley, but no freebies. i realise people may think that harsh, but tuff!!! people have gone out of their way to get you here and sleeping, dont take the piss!!!

cant wait to thrash ya tho!

parking at the Rutland, i'm not sure about, but David the owner is very concientious so i'm sure you'll be fine. could always leave cars behind the locked gates at the school seeing as its walking distance.

mmmmmmmm anything else???

doors open at 8, see ya when ya lan!!

p.s. anyone who doesnt let me win, pays double!

I quite like Dick Turpin's rates - your money or your life.

EXelero - Everyone with a red "Confirmed!" next to them in Post #1. Including yourself, 10 I think. Maybe Mark_T too, and we're always hopeful of sukerkin and Scaff.

I'm very interested but I just looked up Newark on Trent. It's just too for. I have to drive 4 hours to get to Calais (Euro shuttle). I don't know how far it is from their to Newark on Trent. But I was so hoping I could be part of this. Think I'm going to stick to my first plan and go to Austria on the 28th. Hopefully next time.

This sounds like a great laugh.

So you're hiring a hall (just for GTP members, no Table tennis over your heads?) and playing GT4 for 2 days? :D

I might have to learn to drive so I can come to the next one in May.

Yeah.

Yeah... :D

In other news, I've got the running order, 90% of the cars and a randomised track order (each track of 26 possibles represented once in random order, then each track represented again but with reverses where they were forwards before and vice versa) all sorted out. I've planned the races for the pick'n'mixes - there'll be no empty seats except in the Clio Endurance (10 drivers = 5 teams) - by double-blind randomisation. I've got all of my stuff and places to stay on Friday & Saturday. I just need to remember money for the hall and food.

I'll bring along my beer fridge too, if anyone needs anything cooling.

Ashley. - beg, borrow or steal. As a final eventuality, I'll lend you some (on the strict understanding that you aren't allowed to pass me... :D ) - but my debt-collectors are quite efficient so you'd prefer not to take this option...

Yeah.

You'd be better off taking the over-night (from Zeebrugge or Rotterdam) to Hull, its probably only 1.5 hours to Newark from Hull. You are talking 5 hours at least from Dover. ;)

Ask neighbours if you can do any house chores for them, might earn you a few more bob.

👍 I used to wash cars for a couple of quid each... much better than my stinking paper round - 1p (?!? 🤬 ) per paper, and 418 houses over two estates - it used to take me all night. Now I look back at it, I can't believe I did that... nowadays, I won't even get out of bed for £4.18 :P

I looked into flying down. It would only have cost me £28 return from Glasgow to Nottingham! I'll pay way more than that in petrol! The problem would be getting into the airport and then from the airport to Newark, so I'll just stick to the car.
