Can you not bring the TV from the Odge's room? :D

If it turns out we're really stuck for another TV I may bite the bullet and buy one to keep up with Joneses and become a 2 TV family.

May I recommend the LG M227WD as an excellent 22", full HD, cheap, PS3-dedicated television?

We're still shy two TVs, so if anyone has any spares, please bring them along.

The only other tellys I can bring are a 42 inch plasma, which I suspect is a tad too large, or possibly another 14 inch CRT. Not sure if either of those will help.

That's the one that caught my eye when I was window shopping on Amazon earlier today. Does it have built in freeview? Spec doesn't mention it.

EDIT: After searching some more it does have freeview and is only £150 at Richer Sounds...:D

We'll have none of that kind of crazy talk! Next thing you'll be saying any car is fine as long as it has four wheels and it goes!!!

You clearly never saw the Lolvo :dopey:

Anyway, too large for a dozen of us in Famine's garage.

Nahhhh, Holden doesn't bother coming to these things anymore.....

:mischievous:👍

Venari and I have tested the iLAN. The iLAN works.

There's a smidge of lag when something unexpected happens - bouncing along on two wheels is quite amusing from the outside - but even rapid, odd manouevres are lagless.

Thus XIV is now, officially, on.

Well that's good news.

Seeing as I already BOOKED MY HOTEL.

At least I won't have to spend the weekend looking round the set of last of the summer wine then...... jeeeez.

:irked:👍

Unless you can arrange for Holly and Phil to wake me up in person on Saturday, I'm afraid it's not going anywhere.

Fixed.

We were always confident, this just confirms it :D

Edit: Actually, pending Sureshot's handicap (no, his series), we're actually ready. All the events are planned out. Scary.

I've been out and handed some notes to the man in the shop and am now the owner of a second TV which I will be bringing to the LAN. If it's rubbish I hold you personally responsible and liable ;) I'll also be bringing a DS3 and cables which I don't think I mentioned before.

Nice one, Neal!

Also, my handicap (Sureshot dribbles) is now a pick'n'mix, it's also very awesome.

No, my handicap is being electrocuted by Nathan's wheel in Famine's garage and nowhere else!

Uhm, I'm going to claim the car colour of Tweety Bird Yellow for reasons that should be fairly apparent.

Yeah, what I've done there - out of the kindness of my heart - is provided another level on which you may all mock me when the rear-ending jokes start to get a little hard to come by.

Chesney?

Speaking of which, we're spending £300 to get the garage electrics upgraded, just for the LAN. No more buzzing G25s or blanking TVs :D

We're still in the same garage? I thought we'd be using the new garage(s)

The new garage has a car, two engines and three gearboxes in the way. And requires another £300 to get electricity into it. Since the haus needs an upgraded Earth and the mainboard needs upgrading, we're doing that and leaving the optional bit out for now.

hfs has a point - without binocular vision you won't know how close things like balls coming at your face are.

Errr... no offence, like.

Jondot - You're one of them now :scared:

Famine - You've got me down as #18 in the first post but that's just my NASCAR, I'm #46 for other race cars. Also my colour of choice is Lamborghini verde ithaca which looks like this...it does look a bit naff on some cars though :guilty:

Also did you add another TV to the equipment available list?

Hello *waves*

This LAN is now 3 weeks away (woo).

Food and drink-wise - don't worry about bringing stuff with you unless there's something very specific you want/need. I intend to ask for donations when you arrive and then I shall go shopping for appropriate items (milk for Roo, mainly  ).

Evening food will be mainly takeaway as per usual, we now have a full complement of places to take food away from within a 1 minute walk so the decision will be made on the day. As a ballpark figure for you, parmo is now £4.20, pizza anywhere from £3.50 for a plain 10" to £10 for a fully loaded 16", cod and chips is £4, an average chinese meal around £5 (that comes with boiled rice or chips, fried rice 50p extra) and if you want Indian good luck as it's pricey but you're looking at around £7 for a typical curry, rice and naan/poppadum.

I'll consider BBQ for you again, but only if the weather is nice and that's only something we'll know on the day - so just assume it's takeaway. If I have enough interest, then I'll happily make fajitas, pasta bolognese etc if you fancy a change from takeaway.

Be warned - I may become stroppy with you and/or shout at you if you do something I'm not happy about. I make no apologies for being very hormonal at the moment. The stair carpet is BRAND NEW so if I catch ANYONE going up the stairs in shoes or minging feet I will kill you (not joking). If I don't catch you and find muck on the carpet I will kill all of you in one go.

Oh, we have some new electricity. The source of the bad earth has been found and sorted so there should be no more shocking wheels :)

*washes feet.

Famine, you can add another TV to the list. I'm going to bring my PC monitor too, which barring some HDCP issue, should be fine. I will test it with the PS3 when I have some time at some point this week when I've not died in a world of data and code.
