There were some good laughs, that's enough for me. And the slow-mo shot of the Lancia rally car in the air with flames coming out of the exhaust.. If you didn't think that was awesome, you're not a car fan at all.

I like the music in this episode, some songs instantly recognized ("Daft punk is playing at my house", "Breathe in the air", "Roundabout"), some not so, but all fit in well.

I really liked the 1960s James Bond music when the pulled out the Zeppelin-Caravan.

I like the music in this episode

So did I, recognised a lot of tracks previously used in other episodes. Great camera work and all this episode, but sadly the episode was one of the weakest I've seen lately. Hoping for better next time.

Which movie was the song from that they used for the blimp launch part

I know it's james bond... but... AGH

I honestly would have rather seen the Gallardo around the track...

You and be both by friend, wouldn't have beaten the Gumpert but definitely up there with the other cars

There is only going to be one car that beats the Gumpert

That Shelby Aero TT, what a car!

I thought the episode wasn't bad reminded me off the older episodes when they used to feature a lot more cars. I kinda liked it

Shame about the Balboni not being put around the track the Stig was almost not in the episode at all (Until the Hawk)

That Gallardo wouldn't have been close to the Gumpert :odd:.

Possibly, but it also combined the worst from the old shows with the worst from the new shows.

Not the greatest, but I still enjoyed the Lancia history. Was more tickled by the Balboni "review". :D

I enjoyed the Lancia history too. It's made me really, really want to drive a Fulvia, an Integrale and a Stratos. Not that I didn't want to drive them anyway... still though, absolutely gorgeous things.

It's funny they picked Lancia actually, because I was going to mention it earlier when I was speculating on the company they'd pick, but then dismissed it because of things like the Beta - I'd forgotten just how many amazing cars Lancia did make.

I think this was a great episode. Apart from the bit with the airship which really was just stupid. The only thing I liked about that bit was the colour combo on the Lamborghini. I've got to say though; I might've developed a sudden passion for Lancias. The Fulvia looked so incredibly beautiful, and the Stratos... I've seen that car many times in pictures, but the real thing looks so much better. Same goes for the Delta Integrale. The bits of video for the Delta bit were phenomally good, and I was completely stunned by the beauty of the Fulvia, the Stratos and the Delta. I was actually thinking about starting to save up for such a car, untill I heard how rare and expensive they really are. I kind of expected Ford in first by the public, but I didn't quite understand what VW and BMW were diong so high up there. Great choice of music throughout the episode, even if only because the best intro to a song ever made appeared on telly :P

Yes, I'm talking about the Breathe song by Pink Floyd.

Yes, it was. It also played at the start when the US spacecraft was gobbled up by the baddies' spacecraft.

I could have sworn it was from Thunderball. Near the end of the movie, when Christopher Walken launches his blimp out of that office trailer. Its been a while since ive seen the movie, im just going off memory.

On topic: The vintage rally footage really made this episode stand out for me, along with the music too, best so far I think. I have no idea why they let some kit car built by god knows who go around the track, and not let furious Balboni have a go. Looking forward to next weeks show 👍

Thats A View to a Kill. Someone needs to re-watch some Bond films ;) :P

I genuinley enjoyed this weeks episode.

James May's enthusiasm for flying, the Balbone bit wasn't very informative but lets be fair there have been alot of Gallardo variations, the Lancia section was deffinetly entertaining. But I can't imagine waking up to Chris Evans on the radio, I just want to punch the guy.

So did I, I enjoyed the air baloon more than I thought I would. The Lancia piece was great imo. I thought that it was a fairly good episode.

Got a great car collection though
Yeah, that he's painted white, sits in a white room, with a white piano and shows the plumber/gas-man and anyone else that comes to visit because these things "need to be seen". How about driving them? Or even a slightly more public display than his house...

You seem to have missed part of the episode, if you really feel that way.

;)

Quite possibly! As I said, I find the man annoying at the best of times.

How many people who own a Ferrari F40, do you know, that are willing to let other people drive it? Let alone, the rest of the collection.

I find him a bit annoying as well. However, he does let people use, see, smell, etc... his car collection. That's actually pretty uncommon, and I think he at least deserves some respect for that.

Just my take...

Ah I see what you were reffering to now. My opinion on that is that the "experience" is probably going to people with a healthy wad of cash in their pocket anyway and would be more than capable of funding such an experience, they just chose to do so through charity.

It's not like he's handing out that sort of oppurtunity, or even giving passenger rides.

Please don't interpit this as me saying all supercar owners should make their cars public, it's just that I feel he has a "Holier than thou" attitude about it.
