It's only recently that I'm beginning to watch Top Gear. Anyways, on the topic right now, an American episode?

Can't exactly fit much in... gonna have to go to YouTube and watch some Top Gear stuff.

Looks like it should be a good series. Do you know when that CBS thing was filmed? I'm guessing it's still Ben Collins and not a new Stig yet..

Judging by the Camaro that The Stig was driving, it was filmed during the recording of series 15, so that would be between April and June this year.

The BBC
Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson caused offence when he described a car as "speciale needs" - a play on its proper name, Ferrari F430 Speciale.

The BBC
Clarkson described the car owned by co-presenter James May as looking "like a simpleton".

As widely reported by the BBC and other news websites.

One thought. James May doesn't, as far as i can tell, own the Ferrari F430 Speciale - which is a £1.5m one off. He does, however, own a regular F430. I'm just not getting where the "Speciale needs" bit come into it :odd:

Interesting how OFCOM have fallen for the misconception that "special needs" means "stupid" and decided Clarkson was being offensive to those with "learning difficulties".

Physically disabled - even missing a finger - is "special needs". Being too smart is "special needs"...

The Sun a popular newspaper in Great Britain are today reporting, that they have discovered what they call ‘a Stig Farm’. Employing their full range of investigative powers, they seem to have got their hands on the pictures below.

We’re saying nothing. But as we all know, anything can happen in Stig world. You’ll just have to wait and see.

They've already used a red Stig (The Stig's Communist cousin), seen during the Vietnam Special Extra Footage:

Would they make him the new Stig?

The Stig character took a big blow. Even bigger than the first switch, I would say. Now that they've opened the gates, with the Stig farm, it won't matter which Stig it will be. They might even switch the colours to match a certain car or purpose.

I don't see anything there that says it's a Christmas special. :odd:

I've heard some speculation about a possible Christmas special. The fact that it's a trip across the "Holy Land" adds to the possibility of it being shown at Christmas.

But you are right, it didn't say it was a Christmas special, all we know is that the next series starts in January for the UK.

The next season will be shown January 2011 (UK), so I doubt a Christmas special.

It's been confirmed there will be a Top Gear Christmas Special.

And in other news, the new Stig is also white. Looks the same as the last one.

Some people thought there would be two special episodes around Christmas, but it's good to hear that there will be a Chrismas Special as I reckoned there would be. Is there a link confirming it?

I don't have a link to it, but it was confirmed at the MPH Show 2010.

Ah I see. They showed the Stig Farm video at the MPH Show which confirmed that the new Stig would be White. It was also put on the Top Gear website last Friday.

Heads up with a confirmation of a Dec. special.

Final Gear
Top Gear Returns January 23rd With At Least 1 Special In December

The filming dates for the next Top Gear episodes have been released which means we can work out when Top Gear will return to the air!

There will be a filming on December 15th for a special, but it is unknown when it will air. Since they don’t usually do news segments for specials, it’s completely possible the special won’t air until later rather than that weekend. I’ve heard rumors of there being two specials around Christmas time.

What is more definitive though is that the regular season of Top Gear will be back Sunday, January 23rd for a 6 episode run.

I’m not going to update the countdown until we know the air date of the special(s) though as that will take place before the regular season airs.

A special for Christmas, and the new series just in time for my birthday...

2011 looks to be getting started on the right foot.

;)

Top Gear usually films the show on Wednesday, and airs the following Sunday. So I guess that it'll be aired on the 19th.

I wonder what they'll do?

Nobody trusts my word, I see ;).

But yes It will definitly be a Christmas Special.

Yep, the stig farm was very amusing with the subtle stabs at Ben Collins :P.

Disappointed to see the new season is only 6 episodes. I was hoping for around 10 at least. The BBC really need to pull there finger out and increase the funding for Top Gear.

I agree that 6 is short, but you have to remember how much editting / production cost go into each episode. As long as they are 6 quality eps, I am happy and not more of JC saying they have run out of budget for the series and having a mashed up episode of exploring UK's road signs!
