I really enjoyed that episode. I was happy that that episode was really about cars, and it felt like some of the old Top Gear days when they didn't just horse around all the time. I thought Vettel was funny and approachable, making me respect him a lot more.

The best part though was the last segment with the 2 coupes. It really reminded me of the segment where Jeremy drove his Mercedes 600 and James drove his Bentley around London, comparing them and just simply bantering about cars.

I think its Daft Punk - Outlands Part II, from the Tron Legacy soundtrack which they have used songs from in every episode so far this season.

And I'm loving it!
Anyone who hasn't heard this soundtrack should check it out, it's bloody fantastic. Electronic minimalism + orchestral music = epic win.

OT: The MP4-12C part looked a lot like the FM4 Autovista mode to me... Maybe a little cross promotion?

Hey, I'm a little late but you know that episode where they reveal the Vauxall Manaro is the Top Gear Most Surprising Car? And where Jeremy reveiws the Prius and puts the EVO against the Murcielago? Well they play a song when they show a clip from the Monaro review which I really can't figure out. If you know which one I'm talking about, please tell.

Season 17 is suprisingly good, I think... Granted, the 'top' car tests haven't been that exciting to me... Neither the Virage test was interesting to me, nor did I get excited about the 458 vs. MP4-12C review. The 1M was enjoyable, but that's that.

That said, I loved the bit about the Marauder, the hatchback challenge was quite good and I loved the used cars bit in episode three. One of the best bits I've seen in a while, it just seems a bit more down to earth.

Also, I always disliked the SIARC bit, found it pretty boring. So far, it was actually pretty enjoyable. Alice Cooper was pretty entertaining and Sbeastian Vettel a lot nicer and more approachable (and funny, that impersonation cracked me up) than I though and there was no raised finger, either
But Ross Noble was hilarious 👍
I laughed so hard when he mentioned how he forgot he wasn't Collin McRae, sliding down that hill with all kinds of stuff hitting his face

I've been waiting for TG to do something Train related! I thought that was a pretty ingenious idea, though I would not feel comfortable at all in those caravans. Though I suppose they had been deemed safe for them to actually have passengers at all, but it does look a lot of fun!

That train idea was actually a pretty good one I think, it's just there execution failed. Train GTI

Also, I really tought the GT-R would go top, or at least beat the MP-4. Don't know why.

I could see straight away after watching Rowan Atkinson's lap that he would be top, once perfect, just like Vettel's last week.

I really enjoy this week's episode,Rowan Atkinson,GT-R and the train feature,I wont say that is the best episode, but is one of my favourites,I just wish that they didn't use the interview to promp the movie and let Rowan talk about more about cars,he sort of did but now as he probably wanted to,anyway, very good episode, this season is just getting better and better.

I would say that last nights episode was the weakest in the current series, not that it was a bad episode because this series has been great so far.

I ended up missing part of the Jag/Nissan segment at the beginning, so I'll catch up on that part later. I'll admit that the Train segment was funny at times, plus the ideas they had for their Trains were rather good, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to.

The SIARPC with Rowan Atkinson was the best part in the episode, he should have been a guest on Top Gear years ago, so it was great to see him finally come on the show. To me, his lap didn't look like it would be the fastest, so I was genuinely surprised to see him go to the top of the leaderboard.

Rowan Atkinson was cool about his cars but the Nissan GT-R segment was my favourite part. That car is deeply impressive.

I watched a bit of this one as I liked the idea of a car on a train track. I still think it's a great idea.
And really, a hitman needs to stand behind clarkson in the studio, the next time he pauses mid sentence to silent burp he needs to be shot.
Same old formula rubbish. The train thing should have been a special, perhaps they could try and get to India by car train.

I pretty much concur with everyone else here. Entertaining but probably the lowest quality in the series so far. The GTR tyre comment was exactly the same as the last time he reviewed one. The train thing was usual challenge nonsense - "Oh no! Richard set fire to the Buffet car! How unfortunate and completely unscripted!"
Rowan Atkinson hit top of the leaderboard like a baws though. I don't think he leaned forward once when JC was telling him his time.

I think it's funny how they always strategically place the decent looking broads behind the 3 of them... but still in frame.

Yeah I know...

I just read a newspapers review of the show, it got absolutely slated, said it surely must be a sign that the end of the programme is near. It also picked up on the blonde in the background appearance.

Honestly don't see why Top Gear is getting slated more recently.

The quality of the programmes is still at a high level despite the belief that the production team are running out of ideas for challenges etc. For example Sundays challenge where they had to use military equipment to knock down houses has nothing to do with cars which is what the programme is about.

In my view that particular challenge despite not being relevant was entertaining and humourous which is what I enjoy most about Top Gear.

Heheh, I think Clarkson's comment about how "Princess Diana had one" is the first time on the show that I've heard the camera crew laugh.

What happened in the first 20 minutes I missed it :/

But afterwards Louis Walsh was the Star in the Reasonably Priced Car, Jeremy and James tested two electric cars in Lincolnshire :L And Richard spent some time with a cross country rally team consisting of soldiers who have wounded in afghanistan (lost limbs etc.)

All in all a very good episode

Richard tested a new Lamborghini. They said it was too refined. Did a 1:17.5 (I think). Then they did the news.

The Lambo did a 1:16.5, third fastest behind the caterham and the McLaren. That lamghorghini is so beautiful, it looks new and different everytime you see it!

This episode was a bit weak in comparison with the rest of the season, the electric car segment didn't reveal anything new at all, just highlighted it once again. I enjoyed the last segment though, great to see they are not letting their injuries stop their lives! Hope they make it to Dakar.

I just wanted to comment on the Clarkson review of the cheap cars from the episode before last. He was commenting in a jokey way mocking the side mirrors of the car he was in with the fact they were not electric, showing how interested he was you had to use levers to manually operate adjustment of the mirror as it it was a joke everyone would laugh at. It just shows how little he knows about regular peoples cheap cars. Because when I bought my car the manual lever internal adjustment was a special option only on premium models, with my car, as normal you had to get outside and use your hands to push the mirror glass in the direction you wanted it to face.
In the older car I was in it only had one side mirror, 2 mirrors was a luxury item.
Clarkson knows little about budget motoring.
