Dawe was still better than Hammond in series 1.

Eh, I never really liked Jason Dawe. I get that revamped Top Gear started out (for at least the first two seasons) keeping roughly to the consumer advice stuff, and that was what he was there for, but he didn't seem to fit properly, somehow.

That's just my thoughts, though.

Rapidly losing interest in Top Gear. Used to love but it's becoming so formulaic and weak in content. This stand-up routine sums up a lot of what I don't like about it.

Most. Boring. Comic. Ever. Seriously, how do you tell jokes in that monotone and expect people to take you seriously? You can tell he really doesn't believe or care about what he's talking about. Heck, I doubt he is even listening to himself talk. It's like his body is off doing one thing while his mouth is telling the jokes. Granted, that alone is funny to watch, but it'd be funnier if he'd emote more...but you can't emote if your brain isn't controlling your mouth, huh?

Anyway, I still like Top Gear. Granted, I like Top Gear USA's formula better which is just the "three vehicles for little-money" stuff. They literally did an entire season out of that, and it was fun to watch. And the 3rd season looks to be doing it again with Big Rigs and Muscle Cars right out of gate. I think if the British Top Gear did that, it'd be better. I think they're gonna do that once more this season, but who really knows.

I don't like that Hammond has kinda been split off to do his own thing, though. Granted, May and Clarkson work well together, but...I kinda like Hamster.

Maybe this routine would be more up your street.

I don't mind Dawe and he's good on the consumery stuff, but I agree that he didn't really fit in with TG. I can't see that he'd have fit in well with the subsequent daft stuff, challenges etc. He's just not that sort of presenter.

Gearing up for disappointment this week. Despite the steep decline in quality, I still watch the show out of habit. But last week was the first episode I didn't watch all the way through.

This week's looks OK, I'm hoping for an improvement over last week, though that won't be difficult.

Hoho, at least they poked fun at themselves.

I noticed.

So far, it's considerably better than last Sunday's episode. The FF/Continental GT part was surprisingly informative, plus the SIARPC was pretty good too. The next segment doesn't look very promising after reading the synopsis, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Was pretty good overall, big improvement over last week, the wheelchair but was a tad rubbish but I enjoyed the rest.

Well that was a much better episode than last week. Even Hammond was tolerable.

My only gripe was the cheap 'fister' joke. And I didn't like the FF, which coincidentally looks like a Gliscor.

But on the whole, a very good episode I thought.

I liked it, to be fair. It was an interesting and genuine challenge. And any gratuitous shots of the Welsh countryside are always appreciated.

Well, this one was decent. Fisker segment was beaten in significance by the FF/Conti review and the mobility scooters.

FF/Conti segment in question was good. Sad to see the FF beaten though :( The only Ferrari I actually care for nowadays.

Now, anyone expecting any complaints for the mobility scooters? Oh, and the Benton pun at the end of that segment was funny.

Actually, that segment was quite funny. Much better than what I was expecting, and I'll agree that Hammond was nowhere near as irritating as he was in last weekend's episode. Even the Benton part had me laughing.

So yeah, overall it was a much better episode than the previous one.

If I might add, major cutie standing behind M. Fassbender. They pull it it off every week :)

Enjoyed this weeks episode as compared to last weeks, though Andy Wilman (Top gear producer I think) said he got very positive feedback from his friends and people he knows, interesting considering the general feedback both here and elsewhere. FF vs continental GT bit was best this week

This was a very good episode I thought. The best this season by a long way. The challenge was funny without being stupid, and the two car tests were very enjoyable I thought.

Were they making fun of themselves with the Ferrari India Special? Sounded to me like they were admitting it was rubbish.

Quite a good episode that was genuinely interesting and funny without being stupid.

Did anyone notice all the clothing they were wearing for the mobilty scooter challenge had all the shopping tags on them  Was it some kind of shop lifting joke, I didn't get it

Better, but given that both Wilman and clarkson put out various videos this week saying how much praise they received for last weeks efforts, I wasn't expecting much. Bentley vs FF was okay, they put the effort in at least, the Fisker bit with AC/DC's Brian Johnson was alright (I do like a bit of AC/DC!), and the mobility scooter thing was funny, but really not sure it had anything to do with cars. All in .. 6/10

edit: SIARPC, looked like a good lap, interview - boring, never heard of him anyway! Fitty behind ze German Irishman looked familiar...

Nah they've done that before, I think it's more a joke about how unprepared they always are, running out and buying clothing at the last minute and leaving the tags on.

I must be one of the few people in the country who hadn't heard of the SIARPC this week. Sure I know of the films he's been in, but I haven't seen a single one of them. The only reason I knew of that Freud film is because Viggo Mortensen is in it, and he's a legend.
