Nah they've done that before, I think it's more a joke about how unprepared they always are, running out and buying clothing at the last minute and leaving the tags on.

Oh right, thanks for the explanation 👍

I must be one of the few people in the country who hadn't heard of the SIARPC this week. Sure I know of the films he's been in, but I haven't seen a single one of them. The only reason I knew of that Freud film is because Viggo Mortensen is in it, and he's a legend.

I haven't heard of him either, I didn't even recognise the bloke! They have had two bike guys on in a row now, maybe they are trying to mix it up a bit but look at the reaction Clarkson had when Ryan Reynolds mentioned bikes compared to tonight!

I knew about that new film because I saw Kiera Knightley talking about it on Jonathan Ross, they should have put him on that and her on TG ;)

Brian Johnson is always a great character on TG, remember this...

Robin.

I take it that most of you guys haven't seen Inglorious Basterds then? Or the latest X Men film? The girl behind Fassbender couldn't take her eyes off him.

Enjoyed that episode, much much better than last week. Liked the Fisker bit a lot and the Ice bit. Liked all of it really except the SIARPC but I've never really liked that so no surprise. Never heard of him either.

The mobility scooter was really funny. It wasn't to be taken seriously and was genuinely funny, which was missing from the last 2 episodes. Recognised all the countryside in it too, nice to see them in South Wales.

If I was to rate I'd say 8/10. Not a patch on early top gear but a big improvement on last week.

Where were they exactly? They just went for the typical 'let's not pronounce the Welsh name'.

There were photos in one news paper which had the location name. They where in Abergavenny, although it sounded like they were trying to pronounce "Clywedog" at one point, which is nowhere near Abergavenny.

I saw a bit of Inglorious Basterds, but nothing else that they mentioned him being in. Cinema is really bad nowadays anyway, either carbon-copies of tried and tested film scripts, or reboots of films that only came out about 10 minutes ago anyway, so I'm not terribly interested. :P

Wake me up when The Hobbit comes out.

Inglorious was great. Tarantino's best work since Jackie Brown imo. Glad to see that this week's episode was good. Still have last week's to watch too.

I hadn't heard of him anyway, but I always zone out during SIARPC. It's just plugging.

But again, the rest of the episode was very good apart from the cheapness of the 'fister' joke and the general dumbing down of the type of engine it had. In the film James explained TG used a similar concept on the Hammerhead Thrust Eagle i, and when they did that, James explained it quite clearly and simply that he got inspiration from
diesel locomotives and DMUs. How hard would it have been to say that at the expense of a poor joke...

Still, vast improvment. You know it's good when even Hammond is tolerable.

This week was indifferent to me, better than last week, but the first two episodes of the season easily pip it.

I'm still a bit bitter over the shambles that was the india special. A team that usually do it right, managed to take a staple of the Top Gear diet and do it horribly horribly wrong.

This weeks episode was definitely the best in the season. I feel like they could have done a bit more on the Fisker segment though. It seemed to have ended quite abruptly. SIARPC was okay and the mobility scooters segment was entertaining without being completely stupid and fake.

The FF/Continental GT was what really made me enjoy the episode though. It really reminded me of what got me interested in Top Gear so many seasons ago. Two powerful cars sliding around on a snow track replica of Silverstone Circuit. It's amazing scenarios like this that used to make Top Gear what it was, not ninja Stigs, fake fights and other atrocious, cheesy scripted scenes.

That was funny, but I refer the honourable gentleman to 7:20 of the video below for a funnier "oh no, my 'limb' has come off"

I always remember that because of Sabine shouting "Abreißen!". It excited me a little bit.

Enjoyed this week's episode.

Taking bets for the next one though. What do we reckon the chances are of Clarkson discussing the host's genitals? It's happened the last few weeks...

I dunno about that, but I'll have 10 to 1 that James wears a sexy unbuttoned cardigan again. Completely stole the show last week. :P

"James" and "sexy" in the same sentence? That's a combination of words I never thought I'd see.

I've struck a realisation as to why the show appears to have peaked a few years back and unable to match it now... The feeling that all of the larking about is "scripted" (which most of it is) and how detached each of them feels from their creations. This week they "created" scooters, but all we saw was them showing up. Before we got the design process as well, larking around with engineers, and the cars showing the presenters personalities. Hammond creating the noisiest scooter? That should go to Clarkson's V8 powered brute! Last good 'Top Gear attempts' was the motorhomes, and that could have been better too.

The car reviews themselves haven't got any worse though as they haven't changed. Some kind of challenge (daft or otherwise) is always good, rather than getting it sideways and telling us thats fun, or complaining about the computers not letting them have fun.

The crop of SIARPC guests lately has been good, always going to be plugging something, but lately either vastly popular people or really interesting personalities.

I much prefer the guests who are on the show just because they love cars, not necessarily to plug things. People like Brian Johnson, Jay Kay, Jay Leno, Chris Evans, and the like, rather than the ones who are blatantly just there to talk about their latest film, like Christian Slater and Mark Wahlberg are the ones who stand out to me for doing this.

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz spring to mind too. Not just those who are specifically interested in cars make a good or interesting guest; Rob Brydon, Alan Davies, Alistair Campbell, John Prescott, Trevor Eve and hell, even Anne Robinson were alright compared to some.

John Prescott was funny just because he wanted to take the audience on in a fight. Trevor Eve is a legend, I'd forgotten about him, also I liked the Peter Jones/Theo Paphitis interview too, they seemed really down to earth given the vulgar amounts of money they both make.

I have to say, I wish Al Murray had appeared on his own show, rather than at the garden party thing, I love that guy.

The Tom Cruise - Cameron Diaz bit on Top Gear was horrible. Tom Cruise was acceptable, but Diaz was so annoying I was hoping for the audience to shoot her.

No thanks, I'd rather listen to Michael Gambon's adventures.

Matt Smith is a legend, and surprisingly much less upper-class than I was expecting when he's not being Doctor Who.

The Saab bit actually was quite sad. Other than the race at the beginning this was another good episode (although that rally driver was funny :P)
