Clarkson seems to have a thing with asking guests about being naked in films. :odd: Otherwise it was ok, though not as good as last week.

Decent episode, seemed over too soon, which is probably a good sign. Didn't know about Saab's closure, quite shocking. Seemed like the guys were saying though that there was only ever one great Saab, 99 Turbo.

But mainly replying to say, Hollister is a rubbish brand. WTF? The town (in California) is a backwoods agricultural nowhere with a small college. I can't stand it when I see people wearing Hollister stuff. Can anybody explain to me how it ever became popular? Edit: Abercrombie brand. The city itself suffers because of it. Also, High School teams there go by the Hollister Haybalers. I rest my case. But then again, I've always hated branding.

I never said anything about it being good or bad, just that there was a girl that was fit, and the thing that identified her was her top.

It has to be a set-up.

Regarding the episode, I found the Saab segment very enjoyable...especially where he showed the stereotypical purchasers of various brands.
Quite well known that the audience is 50/50 male/female and attractive ladies are brought to the front.

Yeah, they have a lady-wrangler, whose job it is to gather all the attractive women, and push them to the front for the SIARPC section.

Rumour has it that guys stand two or three rows back on purpose just to have the girls brush past them as they are corralled to the front.

Seems like a cheap tactic to me...whatever to get the view count up I guess.

I was actually referencing the Ross Noble interview, where he says... well, exactly that to be honest.

But yeah, they definitely used to make sure all the women were at the front to begin with, but that's because the only other guests were, by their own admission, the Subaru Owner's Club. Nowadays though, I'm not so sure. It is a very "mainstream" show nowadays remember, despite being about cars.

For those who didn't know, James May was on old Top Gear too.

I had no idea that he had already presented on Top Gear before the format change until I re-watched the review of the Rover 75 a couple of years ago:

I actually remember watching this way back in '99.

I thought that was very good. I liked all of it, except the SIARPC was a tad dull. Best episode yet IMO.

This one wasn't bad, but everything could have been improved. The lightweights could have been done better, especially the second section, the Brutus + Bentley could have been done better. Though the in-jokes here were brilliant

And also, Alex referenced Forza, clearly.

I will agree with above opinions, enjoyed this episode immensely, especially the Bentley and Brutus bit, shame there's only a couple of episodes left now.

If Sauron owned a car...

It would definitely be that Brutus. What a beast of a car!

The Stig's Morgan lap was superb.

Yeah one of the best ever I'd say, right up there with the Caterham's lap from a few years ago.

But unfortunatly you cant see my thoughts due to an Audi being in the way.

I would be able to see what you did there, but this bloody Audi is blocking my view.

Yeah, it was another good episode where each segment was pretty sound. That Brutus is insane with those extremely narrow tyres, plus I quite like that Morgan as well. The SIARPC wasn't the best this season, but by no means the worst, plus there were some genuinely funny moments in this episode too. Second best of the season.

This episode was amazing, genuine laugh out loud moments throughout, loved the Audi infront of Hammond, really wasn't expecting that :P

The lightweight segment was probably the highlight of this season for me thus far, I knew the Caterham would win right from the off, but I have a soft spot for that Morgan.

Have to say though, I'm sick of the sight of the Brutus now, Clarkson has an un-natural attraction to it. It was on the news segment last year, it was on his DVD last year, I think he used it somewhere else as well (perhaps Top Gear Live, at least mentioned it) and now here.
