I don't see the point of those races. They can't be for real as they do too much filming at the same time. What is the camera car following the Bugatti? Why don't they just do the race in that? The car they use, Veyron, 612 Scaglietti, SLR etc doesn't matter really. Any modern car will be able to do exactly the same thing.

True. I can travel at the maximum posted speed - and probably further on a tank than the Veyron, saving time on fuel stops.

Perhaps there's several pace cars, placed at numerous points along the journey. 1 tails the target car for abit and then allows the target to run off to the next car.

Okay unlikely and probably not implemented. But again this is only light entertainment. For example the car doesn't have 1000hp like JC kept stating, it's 1000PS.

It's just a very entertaining car based entertainiment program, that stretches some facts.

Definatly the best episode of the new series 👍

The veyron engines actually produce ~1050bhp with the minimum allowed being 1001PS. I suppose with that much power though there wouldn't be much of a difference.

I'm not saying the figures are grossly inaccurate

I was just making a point that it isn't exactly as he said it was.

So is anyone else thinking "That car had BETTER be in GT5...."

I can't count the number of times I saw that thing accelerate during the show and I uttered a small "Good GOD..." watching it go from zero to over-the-horizon in like.. three seconds.

Why oh WHY didn't they give it to the Stig?!?

It can't turn :P

Nah, just kidding Perhaps they'll bring it back next episode or later for a quick lap around the track.

JC said it handles like a Lotus Elise!

Surprising that actualy, as it weights over twice as much as one...

Yes, it was a great episode! The race was great (I do agree with daan and Famine though) and it must have been frustrating for Hamster to go through the safety check at the beginning and to have restrictions on where and when to fly (I've been through a little myself). The Veyron was great, and unsurprisingly JC LOVED the car because he loves cars which have been built to their very best.

I couldn't stop laughing at JC smashing up that fuel sound device either, as it reminded me of a few things I've got annoyed with.

Top Gear aired on SBS half and hour ago, the first free-to-air episode for Australia! It was the one where Jeremy mistakes the 'old' 911 for the 'new' 911 and they test out muscle cars on the beach... makes me feel so patriotic that the Aussie monaro won...

Anyway, anyone know how old this episode (and series) is?

The Veyron may be in GT5, it does cost a lot of money. So they will have to be carful with it, plus VW may help. To get it in GT5, but I just want to see the Veyron in a downloadable pack for PGR3 so much.

It's a shame they didn't do a power lap with the Veyron. Would it have beaten the Zonda?

They probably weren't allowed because the car is so expensive.

Please try and type in English. Your sentence structure and grammar leave a lot to be desired.

Your post should read

It's the first episode of series 5. We're now in series 7 :D
Danke chen!

You can come back to this thread in about two years.

I've seen a fair bit of random top gear segments via questionably il/legal means over the internet, but its always much better to see it properly as full length episodes on the telly! There are so many cool little segments that I haven't been able to see... I'm gonna watch it religiously! :D

Maybe in the future. Remember it took a while for Top Gear to get the Enzo to do a lap on the power lap.

We're still not sure how illegal d/l TopGear is but I'd remove that if I was you. 👍
I've read in the Music Forum that if you download a song/album, listen to it once and delete it it's not considered piracy, and it's allowed.

So I was wondering if this apply to TV shows and movies too. :D

Fixed, but now you need to edit YOUR post where you quoted my assumed evil-ness!

I'm pretty certain its ok to post what I did, cause I didn't give any current sources where you can go and actually download anything... the one site I did mention doesn't have anything illegal nowadays, and mentioning "P2P networks" isn't exactly a specific source either. Its like someone posting that "they used to use napster". As Napster is legal now - who cares?... Its the same as some people admitting that they use P2P networks in the music forums... so long as no one posts exactly where and how people can download things like top gear I don't see how it could harm GTPlanet legally. Does this make sense? Its not like GTPlanet condones everything its users do surely?!

Nor am I actually condoning downloading Top Gear, I feel much better now I can get it by legal means. I'll only download something if I am practically forced to - if I REALLY love the product and its impossible to get legally in Australia...

Is it illegal to download top gear anyway? Its free to air in the UK (and Australia now!). Does someone have to wait until a particular episode is shown free-to-air in your country before downloading it or what? If its simply illegal to download no matter what, wouldn't that mean the use of all VHS recorders are entirely illegal also?!

It's a tricky subject, but the BBC has a serivce where you can d/l the previous weeks' shows (not just TG) for free (I think).

Oooh you said P2P. That gains you an instant ticket to Azkaban or Azerbaijan or whatever.

Yes last night's Top Gear was great. It does bug me just how scripted and setup it all appears to be, and that makes it less funny for me to watch :grumpy: The Veyron was fantastic though and i'm pretty darn impressed with "This is your captain speaking" Slow. His flying skills are most impressive and the actually flying in the Ep. was a nice break from the craziness of the Bugatti 👍 👍 👍 👍 4 thumbs up (out of 4)

No it isn't. In order to watch Top Gear you must have a TV. In order to watch Top Gear on your TV you must pay for a TV Licence - which funds the BBC.

But if you do have a TV and a TV licence I think it is perfectly legal to download an episode of TopGear within the UK.

I've literally just watched last nights episode, great start with the Marcos, I loved that cars interior. The Bugatti was phenominal, hopefully we'll see a power lap but the BBC may have to pay a private owner to allow them to do one like they did with the Enzo. Mind you, I can't think of much better than the Veyron beating an Enzo's lap on national television for free publicity. And regarding the handling, I've heared similar comments about it being sharp and responsive in every test drive. So to everyone that made post after post after post in the Veyron thread that it would be a piece of dung round corners, nob off. I have to say, that was brilliant TV that race, but the best race done so far is still the first in the Aston DB9, nicer looking car and better filmed imo, but thats not to say this one wasn't good. It was superb.
