I said it was the last ep a cople pages ago, and well this ep is on Tuesday 27th Dec 05.
 
Damn I missed the first 15 mins was there anything good? will it be repeated does anyone know? What I did see was very good nice way to end the series plus GT4 👍
 
Great ep, I agree with Clarkson real life is more different. In the game, you do not have to use the full length of your arms on a joypad.

You do not feel the bumps around you the G's and even the small bit of you moving about in game. Which allows you to go faster. Now how will we get through next year, before Top Gear is back on in Spring.
 
I really can't understand a difference of 16 seconds...and it wasn't as if his GT4 lap looked like anything special, it was just that his real lap was so much worse. I'm not saying I could do any better (in real life at least), but losing 16 seconds is incredible.
 
Maybe he might of tweaked the car a bit in game, with out saying. Or the car was setup more different in real life, but Clarksons TV looks so nice.

That race with the different car people was great, if that Max Power car got rid of those subs. Spoiler and other gadgets, then it might of had a better time folks.
 
Clarkson wasnt actually that bad on GT4.... He's got a nice TV to play it on! I must try laguna with an NSX sometime to compare. The whole test seemed to be quite a good plug for GT4 although as clarkson said, anything thats a game is not really ever going to be like real life. Oh well KY tried his best to get it as real as possible and considering the hardware he has to work with is getting old its quite a realistic driving simulator....

... Another thing that is true is the fact that on a game you dont have fear of death if would take chances, unlike really being on the track. According to Clarkson professional racing drivers drive like we do on playstations, without fear, and that is what makes them have the competitive edge...

As for the rest of the episode...

I could not believe that anyone would play 30 grand to get a car the size of a fiesta....and that 1 series didnt even look that expensive and sporty...

The MX-5 was interesting to watch...looks really nice but nothing like the ice cool Ibuki concept which it was based on..

The guest bit was really dissapointing.... they didnt rele seem to be that bothered...

Quite a good episode but not one of the best....
 
There was quite a big difference between the game and real life, I would have liked to see what time the stig could have got on the game and in real life
 
Just done 1 warm-up lap at Laguna Seca in a standard 2001 NSX on S2s there in 1'41.027. He never said what tyres he was on, but I'd assume he just left everything standard.

edit: Second lap a 1'39.189

Bingo. We know Clarkson can't really drive. Sabine beat him by 47 seconds on the 'ring in a Jaguar S-type.

In all fairness thou he aint exsactly race driver material.... abit on the old and plump side.... I dont think he's that bad a driver...
 
It could have been better with Clarkson in the game and Stig in real life. Clarkson as the armchair fan and the Stig as the pukka racing driver.

I wonder if Clarkson has a 360 or Xbox with Forza hidden away, think if he has Xbox Live for either 360 or Xbox. It would then be so kool to play him on Forza, but maybe Clarkson can set up something on Top Gear.

He is clearly going to have an xbox and forza aswell.... but i think its good that he used GT4 as the example though... after all it is the "real driving simulator"...!
He probably lurks in xbox live under an unsual name...., the next time you overtake a blue nsx on laguna seca.... just think..... hmmm i wonder!!!!
 
Sounds like a good episode... I wish the torrents were out on time... It seems, lately, that I have had to wait a few days before anyone gets any torrents for the latest Top Gear episodes...

If anyone finds any torrents, post up some links... I will do the same...

Tuesdays episode was okay...not brilliant. Did JC put standard road tyres on the NSX in GT4 because that would have slowed the lap down a bit. I have a bad feeling he didn't :guilty: The corkscrew was pretty cool, seeing it in real, i didn't realise how steep it was!

I think it would have been cooler if they got that German lady at the nurb to drive there, that would be a lot more fun :)
 
I'm fairly certain he left the standard tyres on (i.e. S2s), since he went through the apex of turn 5 at 61/62mph and this is as quickly as I can go through it on S2s.

I drove the pants off my NSX with standard luxury tyres and got a 1:45.9?? so it probally was sports tyres he was using. I think he didnt have any aids on from what i saw but i dont know if he was using a automatic or manual on GT4.
