Top Gear is an entertainment show about cars. That covers a pretty wide berth. Personally I think there's good reasons for this series to not be a full as others, and that's mainly for the reasons Scaff pointed out earlier. After Hammonds accident they put filming on hold for a while, obviousely Hammond couldn't do any peices for quite some time, I just don't think they've had a lot to show this season. That said TopGear often has 2 or 3 series run each year, one of them is always a short one with less content.

I hope you guys are right. I would like to see a return of the top gear with 2-3 cars per episode.

Are you 7 years old or just really emotional?

You really fail at wisecracks.
TopGear is a car show. Thats what topgear is all about.
If I wanted to watch a entertainment show I will go and watch one of the countless of entertainment shows on TV.

No, Top Gear is all about the ratings. It's more of a family-ish show now than it ever was before, which is good for the BBC. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Complaining here on this forum will get you nowhere. Admittedly I would like less tractor driving and more rubber burning, but it's not up to me, or you, or any other normal viewer. Ep. 5 was complete crap, but that's what happens when one of the hosts survives a potentially deadly accident. They're obviously going to relax a bit on the cars with Hammond.

Did you even read what I said

I didn't really bother, no.

. I dont watch topgear for car reviews, I watch it to see people mess about in cars. Not mess about in tractors or roadworks, but actual cars.

Tell them, not us.

I'm not going to argue that the last few episodes weren't boring, but it's obvious as to why they have dumbed it down. I'll bet 10 e-dollars the next season will be better.

I think the one thing that pushed the last episode over the edge was that there was no car comparrison. There was two spoof films and only a single car review which breaks with the general format.

It is quite surprising how quickly people have pounced on it though.

I'm not too surprised about this series being a bit well non car orientated. With Richards accident they must've been reduced on filming by 3 months or so.

On the next Top Gear, these will be the highlights.

Tearful acceptance speeches, backstage fights and the occasional 'wardrobe malfunction'... yes, the awards season is definitely upon us.

And what better way to celebrate than by building three stretch limos from everyday cars? In the last episode of this series, Richard, Jeremy and James set out to provide a classier alternative to the drug dealer-ferrying, chav-infested stretchers currently on the market.

After resolving a few minor handling issues - and shooting James in the testicles - the boys head to the Brit Awards to hold up traffic and irritate celebrities.

Mustang Savvy...

The Ford Mustang has been a modifiers' favourite since its introduction 42 years ago. And no one does that modifying better than Shelby.

America's most famous tuner has just released a 500bhp of the new Mustang. Given our documented love of all things Stateside, it seemed like a good excuse to crank up the Springsteen and take to the track for some serious tyre-burning action and a gratuitous history lesson on American muscle.

Because she wants to...

She's used to snuggling down with David Tennant in the Tardis, so squeezing next to the Stig in Our Reasonably Priced Car was no problem for Billie Piper.

The star of Doctor Who and former Mrs Chris Evans puts in a few laps in our Chevrolet Lacetti and discusses beer bellies and teen fame with Jeremy.

And now for the news...

In the news this week: Richard meets Tony Blair and completely fails to punch him, Jeremy gets very excited about the replacement for the Vauxhall Monaro, and James does his best to defend the soporific Audi R8.

That should be interesting. I know Clarkson kinda likes the Mustang in general, and I presume much the same for Hammond. I have no idea what May will say about it...

...Although, I do have to wonder how they will view the car. Sure, it was critically successful (for the most part) in America, however, most people agree that it doesn't perform like it should given how good the previous Cobra was...

I'm looking forward to it!

Guys, finally!

BBC strikes Google-YouTube deal

Three YouTube channels - one for news and two for entertainment - will showcase short clips of BBC content.

BBC Worldwide: The second entertainment channel will feature self-contained clips - about three to six minutes long - mining popular programmes in the BBC's archive. Excerpts from Top Gear, The Mighty Boosh and nature programmes presented by David Attenborough are top candidates for this channel.

Hmmm...why is it so quiet in this thread after a TG episode? Did anyone watch it?

I cant believe there was only one picture of those three celebrities in the news after all that commotion in London...

Now, that was brilliant, great way to end it. Shame about it being a short series. Let's hope we get more cars next time, though Autumn tends to be sluggish for cars anyway doesn't it?

I know I don't live in Britain and all.....I believe Top Gear is one of the best shows ever......I wish they show it on America. I live in Los Angeles.....and mainly the automotive capital in California. I really agree mostly what Clarkson says.....ppl in LA....lots of accidents & majority traffic on the freeways. I wish they would do more programs in America more often....since I thought episode #3 was the truth.

Tell me about it. I took a look on a couple of news sites to see if there were any archived stories related to it and couldn't find any.. so was Jeremy's article really the only mention of all that commotion? With all of those photographers? And with those cars?? Hmm.

So anyway. First things first, can i just congratulate Hammond on getting such a nice looking Mustang. I knew he had a thing for classic muscle, but that GT350 is a beaut. Shame a few of the horses had left the stable.

Lemar looked properly annoyed at the end, but the look on his face when the steering wheel came off in his hands was priceless and certainly worth putting up with his childishness  Was glad to see Chris Moyles on there, he's a good sport for putting up with Jeremy's antics.

An entertaining episode in general 👍 Am interested in the Top Gear Of The Pops show; should be a good filler until they decide when to do the next series.

Oh lordy, that was funny! About 20 minutes in, when they were revealing their limos and their stupid antics, I was laughing so hard I started crying and got a big lump in my throat. Great, great episode. 👍

This is ridiculous!

We are 2 seasons behind you guys in the UK, and were getting showed clip shows! Like Top Gear The Supercars and Top Gear Special Guests. What's wrong with SBS showing us newer ones?!

I just finished watching it......James was an idiot......it was pathetic of him like that. I thought Hamster's Limo was cool idea....not for the R&B artist.

Sad they had to end the series till summer.

Typical Jeremy. I thought he was going soft by going for a Fiat Panda, but once he revealed the size of it... Even James' "Alfsaromeab" was surprisingly cool, but I don't quite understand why the steering wheel kept coming off... Very funny overall, especially when Jeremy's car split in half near its destination.

I enjoyed when James limo lost control on the test track, but there was bit when they were sitting down, which made me laugh so much, I nearly chocked when laughing.

...What a great episode! The limo experiment was awesome, and I really was not expecting all of that to happen. Although, I do have to frown a bit at James' design, as it was a bit too odd overall. I loved Jeremy's though, the outrageousness of it all was awesome. The whole deal with Christ Moyals was awesome, and yes I know who he is, despite being an American.

The Mustang test wasn't all that surprising. The GT500 has been criticized for being underpowered time and time again, and the test on the GT390 was cool as well. I've got a lot of respect for Hammond's love of the American muscle car, and it certainly showed through...

 👍
Loved the episode, James' thing was hilarious. I thought he was just going to stick the back of the Alfa on the SAAB or something. Way too cool.

Why were they playing the Airwolf theme during the Fiat Panda scene? You're gonna need Airwolf to make that car fast. I wished Airwolf swooped down and took out Jeremy.

Just heard a news report on the BBC that there may not be any more Top Gear. Apparently Clarkson wrote something in his column in the The Sun newspaper.

Guess we'll have to wait to hear more news.

Jeremy on Top Gear - We don't know when we'll be back

BBC announcer after the show - Don't worry. Top Gear will be back in the summer.

Jeremy in his newspaper column - I can tell you here and now that we won't.

BBC news website - We're planning a summer special of Top Gear and a new series will be out in the autumn.

There are problems with the Dunsfold track becasue the nearby residents are complaining about the noise. As far as I know, they need to find a new home.
