Un-Official list of unannounced Spec II features

Has anyone noticed a change to the randomness with which helmets, gear or horns are being handed out? Before spec II, I was collecting horns with 3rd places in seasonals. I'd got upto 230ish horns, and only 1 in 4, or 1 in 5 wasn't one that I hadn't already got. Since spec II, I have had 12 new ones and no repeats. Likewise, I haven't had any repeat gear whlst grinding back the cash spent on the new, spec II cars!?
 
The standard cars are really looking good, just a little more cleaning and the ability to change wheels and i'm good. Don't be shocked if we could add lips kit to them in the future.
 
Not sure if this was posted before, but the video with Jeff Gordon now features the 2011 Nascars.
 
Did anyone note that when you select a custom track it now shows all the info about weather and time in the course statistics?
 
B spec remotes have changed:

  • Nascar is now on Daytona, used to be Grand Valley Speedway
  • Classic/older cars now on Cape Ring, used to be Nurburgring
  • LM cars now on Indianapolis, used to be La Sarthe
  • Tuning House cars now on Suzuka, used to be Daytona Road (I think)
  • Japanese GT's now on Fuji, used to be on Indianapolis Road
  • Muscle Cars now on Nurburgring, used to be Laguna Seca

Those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head. Payouts are dependant on your multiplier, which also seems to affect the XP rewards too.
 
Not sure if it's new, but when you try to take a photo of a standard car too close, it won't let you and tell you to back off.

That bit of idiocy has been there since the game came out, and PD didn't use Spec II to fix it, unfortunately.

What glitch is that, I don't remember it?
Certain Premium cars (those two, the '07 Mini, the SLS AMG, the R33 Skyline GT-R, etc.) had the camera zoomed way in in chase cam and cockpit view. Those two, at least, have finally been fixed with Spec II.
 
Save data size has been reduced to normal size. Since Ver 1.11, the save data has increased in size 1MB, but now it is back to before.
 
Such a long thread I doubt anyone checks duplicate posts, but I noticed the cursor generally moves where you tell it rather than snapping to default menu choice - like in settings going from right to left it used to go to tires, now it'll go to the closest horizontal option etc. Also you cant press down to go to garage in seasonals you have to go to the far right (annoying)

Also min-max downforce adjustment is faster.
 
I haven't checked the whole thread but something I noticed today , my 200% login bonus has gone. It was there this morning but the last few races tonight , its gone . I have been online all day.... might be a glitch or maybe it "expires" after a certain amount of races. I have had a pretty big day of driving :D

Skidmarks progressively disappear and not in sections anymore. I checked for about 20 mins to really make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me.

Sweet. I'm the only one to figure it out. Shows how stupid I am for constantly doing donuts and holding burnouts for as long as I possibly can.

You can search the thread. It's in the top right corner of the thread. Just type in a word that's unique to your findings and see if you find anything. I believe someone HAS mentioned the cursor problem in here.
Downforce, I doubt it. Having to go all the way to the right isn't too bad but is a little annoying.

Backing out of menus is just a bit faster now because Circle works by backing you out as far as you need to go when it's necessary, otherwise, X does the job when you have to click OK.

After I posted , I found the thread in the seasonal forum that describes my problem. It hasn't really "reset" to 100 % , there is no mention of it all all during payout. I only noticed the bonus was gone in seasonals today. It's still there in online racing though.

Weird that this bug has occured several days after 2.0 was installed.... ?
 
I've just ground another 10, 3rd places in seasonals, and got another 10 unrepeated horns. Please! Someone else check to see if you're nolonger winning duplicates of horns/gear. Before the update I remove any duplicates of gear because my save file got to 4730ish, but I still got awarded multiples. Since the spec II, I've not had one single repeat prize. JUST THINK WHAT THIS MEANS FOR TRADING. Everyone can get everything. Someone's multiples are nolonger worth anything, because there are no rarities anymore for anyone.
 
I can only cofirm that museum cards are still totally random. From 10 I've recived, I get 1 new :/

When you're racing with AI drivers, the driver list will have every driver blacked out. This means each one hasn't been loaded yet. If you wait a couple of seconds the 1st position driver will load, and gradually load the others. When the loading is finished, it'll make a recognizable "ping" noise. Otherwise, when you hit Start Race, it'll just stall for the drivers to load, including you (circle to cancel). Usually the loading time should be around 30 seconds or a bit more.
 
Another 6 DTM 3rd places, another 6 unique horns as prizes. I'm at 256 in total. On average, the odds of getting a unique prize should be about 1 in 13 (7.5%). I've check my paint chips from the login bonus, and I've had 3 repeats in the last 50 chips. When I had my save file clear out I left myself 5 examples of each chip I had, and 1 example of each horn, suit and helmet. I don't check the museum, out of save file fear.

Sorry for this double post. I've just had a close look at my horns and helmets and found that GT5 isn't grouping like items together. I have not been getting unique item every time I won a prize, it just looks like that because GT5 is classing a prize won after spec II as a different item to the identical prize won before the update... Sorry... I will now move on to a Spec II bug thread.

I think someone have noted this already, what I do is that I hit race then back out to setup my car for a bit, then when I'm finished the race is fully loaded.

Do you remember that R8 V10 had a V8 motor modeled?

Well, not any more. Now it's modeled properly, you can see that it has 10 cylinders and it says V10 FSI :dopey: Love that they're still fixing these things...

We know this. That's why during practice free runs and arcade time trials, the loading time is around 10 seconds. I'm glad they decided to do it this way, not as much spare time is wasted making fine adjustments to your settings while you wait, though that's not the case all the time.

Spec 2 is definitely the root of the problem. Kaz said there will be an update that includes fixes for the problems. Let's just hope that's for all the bugs that Spec 2 caused.

Custom soundtrack now works for me online. Not sure though if this is a new feature but it never used to work before.

I just figured out that there random now too. Well, from rewinding and fast forwarding on Mt Aso. I'm not entirely sure if it's random all the time, but either way.

This is one thing I was hoping for and never thought would happen. I cheered when I figured it out this morning. :dopey:

Is snow seriously an option to choose for Tokyo Bay and Eifel or Eifel Kart? Or is that another glitch by some odd chance? I only said that so people will check the link. CHECK IT NOW! Just in case some missed it.

Just used my fully tuned MX5 for one of the old seasonals (which ALL payout suits/helmets, yes even the ones before the expert challenges), the full racing transmission now doesn't completely drown out the sound of the engine... Not something that bothered me too much but I know it got on a lot of peoples nerves.

Just used my fully tuned MX5 for one of the old seasonals (which ALL payout suits/helmets, yes even the ones before the expert challenges), the full racing transmission now doesn't completely drown out the sound of the engine... Not something that bothered me too much but I know it got on a lot of peoples nerves.


You get gear whine in reverse now with the stock tranny. Also, when watching replay, the car has engine sound front and exhaust sound at the back :drool:

I don't think either of those things are new (the separate engine / exhaust sounds definitely isn't; it was in GT5:P), but the levels / separation may have been tweaked.
 
Sorry for updating a week-old thread, but I noticed you can consult the GT5 manual now when you're online. Pre-Spec 2.0 you couldn't, it'll be blacked-out.
