I think that part of the G27 support is that the travel needed on the clutch pedal to activate the clutch in game has been decreased. I've noticed it with my Clubsport pedals, and I can actually be competitive while using the clutch now. The whole feel of driving is better too which also helps, but the bottom line is I can really drive with the clutch now, and it's awesome.

I did about an hour of test driving today and noticed a big difference in clutch feel on my csp's as well. You know longer half to be fully off throttle to shift. Almost but not completely. Maybe about 3/4 off. If the wife will let me "borrow" the living room ill do some.testing in a few. Will also try same car with different flywheels and clutches to see if maybe, just maybe, it is that detailed.

I used the clutch alot pre s2 so i should be able to come up with something reasonably accurate. Test car will probably be a civic or something along those lines.

Lets see if I win the wife over.

Edit: win!

Clearing the cones off top gear now.

Tested in lounge
Setup: gt2 / csp inverted
Track: tgtt. Its nice and flat ;)
Car: civic type r (ek) 97 rkm tuned
Sports soft.

STOCK FLYWHEEL/CLUTCH

SHIFTING UP
You can stay on the throttle 25% without dropping into neutral. If you are slow on the clutch while maintaining 25% or less throttle there is slip. I tried this through all gears up and it holds true.

DOWN SHIFTING
Same results
—---————————

SPORTS FLYWHEEL/ SINGLE PLATE CLUTCH

SHIFTING UP
Hmmm odd.
Using this combo you can only apply 10% throttle while shifting up. Total opposite of what i was expecting.
Still get clutch slip and activation at the same points as stock setup.

DOWN SHIFTING
25% throttle is ok down shifting here.

----------------------------------

SEMI RACING FLYWHEEL/TWIN PLATE CLUTCH

SHIFTING UP
Performs about the same as the sports parts. Maybe a couple percent above but nothing significant. Might be around 15% throttle leeway.

DOWNSHIFTING
Again right around 25% throttle or less and you will not be kicked into neutral.

THOUGHTS:
Since spec 2 it seems the clutch and gated shifter is much friendlier to the driver. Noticeable clutch slip when coming off it slow that was not present prior to S2. Or at least had a much shorter useable zone.
The clutch no longer feels like an on off. Clutch seems to start to engage about 10% into its travel and us fully engaged with about 10% left to go.

I do find it odd that the stock parts allow you to stay on throttle while going up in gear longer than the upgraded ones, not sure why but maybe has something to do with the delay before engagement.

The consistent throttle pressure across all setups for downshifting makes a little more sense. It seems easier to heel toe now, but that may also be because this is my first day with my pedals inverted.

I know its old, but i love that you can stall your cars.

Dont know if this helps or is useful but there it is.
Looks like we got some pretty good clutch support now.

In photo mode exposure is changing almost instantly, not with annoying delay like it was before.
In car list cursor no longer snaps to left when you scrolling fast through the list.

Oh, thats not just me? I thought my controller was broken lol.

In B spec mode you can now access the driver list from the track selection screen. Right next to the garage button on the bottom right hand corner. Useful if you've left all your drivers shared online.

How are our cars' headlights? Do they light the road better?

Cars which had headlights which didn't light-up the road before (such as the Mazda Furai), now work correctly as headlights in the dark. Also, not sure if this is also a fix but the brake lights are also working. Not really sure on this one as hadn't been using this car in the dark due to the apparent haedlights not actually working in spec I.

Another little thing i noticed while watching a replay:

- If you switch the cameras with the "select" button, the onscreen data no longer pops up

Ok. I've made some tests online, and here are the results.

Mt Aso
Yup, it's raining. No heavy dark clouds, no shiny road surface. Just rain. I've been there for some amount of time and nothing changed.
On pics you can barely see it's raingng :/

Liege
Surprised me, we have rain here, too. But also we have heavy clouds. It looks really nice. No visual change of road surface.

Eifel Kart
Eifel have rain, but not the kart theme. But online we can see rain (barely seen on first photo, and, what's hilarious, snow! (second photo)

Tokyo Bay Kart
We are in Tokyo where is always sunny. Not this time. Christmas time is coming.

Toscana tarmac
Most of us know that we can ride wet Toscana track in Special Rallye event. But this time it's also online. Online you won't see blueish, shiny wet road, only rain like on Mt.Aso, not like in GT Rallye. Also I wanted to make pic and show that Rally event had car reflection on road, but... they're gone o_O

Headlight beampatterns at night seem to have improved, I tried the LP640 at Toscana event and the lighted area didn't ''sink'' into the ground when facing hills.

I encountered something interesting last night, it's not very exciting but it hints at just how deep they've gone with this update.
We run the RM Cappuccino's 3 times a week and sometime ago we noticed that after you RM'd the car there would be Potenza stickers under the headlights but once you painted it those stickers got covered up and were no longer visible.

This is a photo I took just a few days before the Spec 2 update, notice no Potenza logos under the headlights.

Here is a picture I took from a race we had last night. You'll notice that not only have the Potenza stickers come back, there are also new stickers in the opening of the bumper on either side of the grill and also on the side of the bumper right in front of the wheel.

Now the really interesting thing, here's a photo from the same race that the first photo was taken from, but this photo was taken after the 2.0 update and the stickers are now there!

Like I said, this isn't very exciting but I think it shows just how thorough this update is. They've obviously changed something fundamental about how the cars are rendered which fixes the mistake that previously painted over these stickers.

👍

Here's one big thing I noticed: when I leave an online room and return to the lobby screen, my filters (no SRF, all countries) remain checked. We no longer have to re-select them every time we return the lobby.

Lexus LFA gear ratios have been fixed. It no longer gets stuck in 5th. I would assume other cars that had the same problem have been mended.

My humble contribution: When you change oil in the auto shop, the sound of the mechanic rolling under the car is more noticeable than before ;-)

Anyone else noticed this? Our did I play until so late that dreamt the whole thing?

I noticed that when you hit a wall with the rear end of the car it does not glide along anymore but rather forces the car into a spin. Feels alot more natural and makes you take more care not to hit the wall.

The tuning summary screen, the car's max speed, it must be in kph, and the final gear is not correct. All the numbers around the transmission area are suspect to be wrong.

The track physics are much better now. If you step a wheel off and prematurely start to correct before the car starts to lose grip you're in for a ride. Very realistic.

Also for the DS3 the pressure sensitivity on the buttons is great!

That was in 1.11. Headlights now are great!

Have you notice you can see the headlight of your opponents cars in your rear view now? I also notice how they actually modeled the Nismo 350z street standard car front lip. It looks like a lip now! Maybe they will let us add on lips on standard cars in the future.

The music that plays inside the Red Bull Hangar seems different and cars with gears like CVT that can't be set to manual and stays in Drive now has that red blinking icon when approaching a turn just like other cars.

Hope it wasn't mentioned so far: When you make a photo, the special effects like bloom don't disappear anymore and the vignetting is stronger depending on the depth of field (F) setting.

you can now view all angles of a replay WITHOUT the timer and HUD, very cool, also on some tracks the standard replay angles are changed, i noticed on Nurburgring there are some new angles/sweeps...also some penalty-zones have been changed, most notably you can't cut the green parts of the chicanes on Monza, i'm sure there are others as well...also on many tracks you can see quite a few changes in sponsor banners
