Update 1.03 (Released - January 14th)

Maybe PD is looking at this thread and laughing. Kaz & co are probably looking at this thread, "They're still going. Hold the update back let's see how long they complain, this is hilarious."

They have a tendency to "troll", I mean - think about it. People thought they would get good car sounds. So they gave quite possibly the best car sound to the very car everyone here hated in GT5.... and left everything else alone.

maybe...

That just says the event will be available on the 1st it doesnt say the update will be available on the 1st. I did actually read that.

Well, actually the update should give us Red Bull X2014 S and X2014 F, and so the events. If the events say "Coming 1st January", then the car should be up for that date and then even the update itself, it's a chain of things...
But still nothing, PD seems closed to this notice and i'm start feeling a bit worried and angry about this...
If PD starts to do delays with GT6 updates just like they delayed GT5 comeout, we will still have to wait course maker on GT6 when there is already GT8...

how awesome would this be if the update was to include
McLaren's 2014 Formula One car that will be revealed to the public during an online launch on January 24.

Personally I’d love to see calibration option for DS3 triggers in one of the future updates of GT6. Standard calibration sucks a lot, throttle and brake control is very inaccurate...

Not possible because Simraceway got the exclusive for McLaren Racing licenses

Apparently SONY could be the main sponsor of the McLaren F1 team from this year.

It would be stupid if that were the case and fail to agree about image rights for use in their games.

All I could find on the Simraceway website was that they are a licensor of McLaren.

Didn't see exclusivity mentioned. Didn't spend much time looking though.

so it could technically still be a possibility then? gt6 seems the best way (or could/should be) the best way to launch an online assault (apart from a strict f1 game). fingers crossed

seems codemasters doesnt or didnt have any licences for past or present mclarens either, plus with the senna content in the pipeworks. this could look as promising as anything else that hasnt happened yet lol

Another wasted day in my life with no update 1.03.

I find it very funny this whole liscencing business, pd is a force, they make more money than any sim, yet still i rarely listen "pd secured exclusive rights" to xxxx
I saw another sim that got the ferrari "the ferrari"' simrcwy got mclaren, "they" got porsches , iracing got newer rufs, etc... Not even the nissans... And far from me wanting another gtr in game, but, where's the nismo gtr?
I think they imagine themselves as a small company, and are ashamed to go to a big car maker and ask for help/colaboration.
As for a little on-topic, there isn't a single pd announcement done after dec 18th, wich to me seems like an a nice office vacation

To be honest I think they were planning to release much less updates for gt6 compared to gt5, but the fact that the game has not sold nearly as much may mean they will want to get gt6 in tip top shape so that spirits are heightened again for gt7
More likely that the opposite is true. GT7 production is already underway and probably funded. GT6 updates on the other hand probably rely heavily on funding from the sales of the game. If the game doesn't sell well then they will have less money and incentive to upgrade it. It's all about supply and demand. If sales on GT6 are suffering they may cancel some of the updates to focus more on GT7.

I see your point, I think this is very likley, however the better gt6 does the better gt7 will sell imo.

What I know so far, Codemasters' F1 2013 didn't got historic McLarens in its Classic cars because someone else got the exclusivity of that license, and same for Senna's name... And as i play Simraceway and there are lot of McLaren Automotive - Racing cars (MP4-12C GT3 + M23 F1 '73 + M26 F1 '77 + MP4/4 F1 '88 + MP4-25 F1 '10 + MP4-26 F1 '11 + MP4-27 F1 '12 + MP4-28 F1 '13 and presume in the new year the MP4-29 '14) i assume THEY have the license.
So the things are 3:
- 1. As Senna is on GT6, then possibly McLarens licenses are up for PD game for 2014 as PD bought their licenses;
- 2. We will have back Ferrari F2007 & F10 and maybe in addition the new one for 2014 season;
- 3. We won't see F1 cars on GT untill next chapter (maybe).

Ashamed? Big car maker?

Do you think any of the Vision Gran Turismo cars will appear in another game?

Well it's been over a week now so one could speculate that PD are working on something a little bit more special than just an update to the Red Bull X Challenge. Perhaps a GT Academy update or even a Red Bull Gridsters style competition resulting from the X Challenge? ...We can all dream :)

No, but i rather have many more real cars than cars pd can crank it up to 111 and say they are dreams to drive... Its not like pd has a perfect game and now they need to make something diferent...
Mb vision or a kick ass very premium version of the audi streemliner? Black and white graphics and all.
I am saying they can have every car they want in game, and instead, they rather have a trillion '90s japanese cars.
And not even the proper Japanese cars, s2000 is an example that ticks me off,in the car info, they quote versions that dont exist in game and those are versions with improved features... Why is there 7 equal s2000 2001 eu us jp version(are they really diferent cars? Or just law adjustments for emissions, safety, etc? )
Edit,
The s2000 has 2 premium versions and interiors, one stock and another tuned, why cant they premium the others and make a gen 1 bodykit, instead of porting and improving a gt1-4 car?
This could be a gt auto feature to update gen1-2 bodykits, change lights for orange us lights, euro lights, diferent market wheels...

The point is, PD are working with many of the 'big car makers'. Your previous post suggested otherwise.
