Update 1.03 (Released - January 14th)

Anybody have any idea if it fixed the Gear stick problem on some cars. Not got time to test til tomorrow. Paddles all well and good unless drifting.

updated, worked first time.

Did NOT sign into PSN first
at ~7:30pm.

Have you tried uninstalling racing transmission? In some cars, that prevents the usage of stick, and some cars didn't have stick shift to begin with..

Mine went through the first time, just finished downloading it, took about 2 minutes.

For those of you who're still having trouble updating to 1.03 PD have noticed this issue.

When someone posted the 'press ok within two seconds' workaround above I thought it was a joke, but apparently it works that way :)

On another note, people talk about MR cars being 'fixed' by this update. Has anyone who noticed this also noticed what the difference is? Is it the weight transfer, better rear tire behavior (since they also updated the rim/tire bug) or did they add just a little touch of SRF to the MR cars?
I know this is a difficult question to answer, but I am really wondering.

I got the download once, all I did was achieve it through automatic update using PS+ and it downloaded in the background while I was doing other things. The only time it crashed on me was after I quit, because I didn't feel like buying the car at the dealership and decided to wait for maintenance to pass.

Apologies if this has already been posted..

RA functionality for G27 now available in options :D

Programmed it 'onto' the wheel (buttons), but haven't been on track to test...

So I just did a 15 minute endurance race straight after an update, but when I clearly finished first it said I didn't. Even the position counter in the top right hand of the screen said I was in 1st when I passed all opponents, but on the last lap I noticed it had changed to 10th position, but it then quickly changed to 1st after I crossed the line.

I achieved one out of the three stars for that race as well :banghead:

Game had this bug before 1.02. Happened to me in one of the first races in the career

Anyone like to comment on the updated MR handling? Hopefully this has sorted out the awful Audi R8 LMS Ultra! :D

Bought the R8 LMS Ultra just now, for testing. Took it out, completly unmodified, onto Nurburgring GP. I'll say now, that I have not driven the LMS Ultra before, only the team phoenix one.

The car seemes reasonably stable, does tend to break traction on the rear wheels under heavy breaking, and oversteer if you step on the throttle while cornering, but is still very managable. Setting the car up a bit will probably make it a lot better, but personally I'll still stick to FR oriented GT cars.

* 0 ABS Brakes have been broken since patch 1.02, most race cars are unusable with ABS 0

Actually the brakes seem to work fine with stock brakes (means there is no solution for race cars), racing brakes are useless with ABS 0 though, any force is too strong.

Why I am here though, does anyone notice a change in physics? I have not played in about a 10 days, the game is not that fresh in my mind but I noticed now that...

Actually scratch that. I was racing ghosts which must have been uploaded before this update. However I noticed now you have to actually feather the throttle to get a proper launch instead of just wheel spin. In all previous GT games the most effective launch was always 100% throttle. I did a test when GT6 first came out and I thought this was still the case, but I noticed on one of the S license tests that I gained on the ghosts instead of losing to them if I reduced the wheel spin and didn't just floor it.

Also the KTM is amazing to drive (the back knows exactly how much I want it to step out under braking), I don't remember it being so good however again I don't remember driving it at low speed before either... Am I just rediscovering how good GT6's physics can be or have there been improvements?

Procedures to avoid this issue:
You can avoid the issue by pressing [OK] quickly in the first screen. When “A new update is available” is displayed, select [OK] quickly, within 2 seconds from when it is displayed. This will update the game properly.

If over 2 seconds have passed, select [Cancel], and select [Return] in the following Sign-In screen. After the game starts, exit the game using the PS button while in the [My Home] screen, and try the procedure described above.

Thank you!!! It worked!

Before, my PS3 beeped 3 times everytime I press OK. happened twice.
Just now I quickly pressed the OK and it's downloading properly.

It was there from the last update (1.02). It wouldn't let you change anything on-the-fly, but the menu popped up when you pressed the RA menu button!

Let's hope it actually lets us change things in-race!

Edit: I haven't updated yet, been sick for the past few days, so I haven't checked anything out.

I really wanted something of substance in this update. I think an event creator might be the most important thing to happen in GT history. (TOO BAD THEY NEVER ANNOUNCED IT)

Update installed okay following the 'official procedures'

Noticed that the R1/L1 shoulder buttons on the DS3 now work in the menu UI with the wheel plugged in but the D-pad buttons are not navigating the UI properly and are doing some very strange things indeed. :(

No way!! Doh..

Just tried it online - hasn't updated, still cant change in race...

Are there any patch notes? Having read the GTP post and a few pages here there seem to be some fixes in the update... But is there a list of fixes anywhere ?
