Update 1.03 (Released - January 14th)

Has anyone else had their ps3 crash trying to download the update? Every time i try to update, it says please wait and then crashes and i have to let the ps3 system check. Anyone else having this problem?

And me to this list. WOW this is a major bug. Glad I knew to check in here before screaming at PS3.
I had to use the DS controller because my wheel takes longer then two seconds to initialize! Took me FIVE reboots totally to figure all this out. Then when finally came back up it immediately locked up trying to load the intro movie! Really sucky update here PD!!

Is the tyre wear bug still there?

Well I just tested; the tire wear bug after you conduct a pit stop still exists and it ruins all races you need to stop for fuel or tires. This is the bug where the rear tires screach and burn out after the pit stop.

OK to me the deltawing has been updated a little. I was driving it pre patch every day on the same course so I have a good idea how it drove. Today the rear has more grip and the turn in speed of the front has been reduced. I don't think it oversteered as much as it just being really quick on turn in.
Second the RB 125 kart can now be used in the IB 125 kart races.
Third you now have the option to delete your installed game data. I check everyday how much of the game has been installed to my HDD so I know this option was not an option.

Some of this might have been reported already but I'm not going to dig through 15 pages of junk to make sure the next guy/girl already knew that.

This is new information, so thanks for posting.

I think all MR cars have been updated a bit, not just the DeltaWing.

I've noticed this but since it goes away midway through the lap, I figured it was simulating driving on cold tires.

Here's my story. Whether you read or not is up to you. Just sharing.

1.03 update went just fine for me. Did it yesterday about 7pm US PST. First try no problem, within 2 seconds of prompt of course. Finished session last night and quit game. While in the dashboard menu I ejected GT6 then put in a movie. The movie then started to load but never really did. Just a black screen, PS3 unresponsive to any inputs at all. Had to disconnect the power cord then reboot and I'm sure you know the rest. After reboot and such, everything is as normal.

Fast forward to tonight, I turn on the PS3 and a black screen. What the hell?! Same as last night I unplug and reboot. Everything loads fine and I proceed to update whatever this mini update is.

For what ever it's worth, my controller was plugged in via USB charging last night. Tonight I turned on by power button on the console. Did GT6 cause this? On a first gen slim. Could it be ironic my console is dying? Who knows. Just my story.

Still no triple monitor support. :(
Are really so few people racing with multi monitor setups?

I pre-ordered three copies of GT6 the day pre-orders started early December as it was confirmed for the old PS3.

Yesterday was the first day, I gave GT6 a shot and installed it on all three systems and no multi monitor support :-(

I anticipated v1.03 would change this hopefully, … no it didn't.

There is so far no multi monitor support, making GT6 for now a big downgrade from GT5.

I actually like the tire model a lot better, but without proper vision, I will wait things out until multi monitor support is fixed.

... Idon't know what they are waiting for, they should be ready right now.

...i need the complete game that already have paid... and with no bugs.

Exactly, you don't know. So, if you do not know - as you said yourself - how come you can "know" that something "should be ready right now"? You absolutely lack a knowledge - as you said yourself - but you insist you know about when something you selfadmitely do not know about "should be ready". Hm.

Also, you got the complete game you already paid. Month prior the release the official site said about features that will be available in the "later update". So, they will come at some point, later point - the point you don't know when will happen. As noone else. So, by buying the product with officially announced delay of particular features you have agreed to wait - as all of us have.

And there is no single piece of software without bugs and glitches. Not even Tetris. So, maybe you should think rationally about your expectations when buying something in order to avoid disappointment because from what I see you are a victim of your own decisions:

- a decision to buy a product with officially announced delay of particular features before those features were implemented and
- a decision to buy a piece of software expecting there will no bugs or glitches

Or whatever.

My status was showing "101%" of the game completed before de update. Now shows 98%. I think it is correct now, since I didn't complete the drifiting events

Of course that should be ready now.

"In regards to the course maker, it is cutting it really close as to whether or not it will make it in time for day one or not for GT6. It’s definitely going to be there, but whether or not it will be available from day one I’m just not really sure right now."

The game went gold 64 days later, why a feature, who was so near completion, is not ready yet, 53 days after 27 November (the date GT6 went gold)?

The same can be said about the community, who was so near completion than they have included it in the disc.

Yes, I agreed to wait... a reasonable time based in the expectations they have created with interviews like the one I posted above, not a eternity.

Why I should expect to buy a product full of bugs or glitches?
You think that is reasonable?
You defending incompetence?
When I buy something from a well reputed supplier (and that is what Polyphony was), I expect a first class product, not a piece of crap.

I really have no intention to drag myself in an unconstructive discussion with you, but I will because you are damn funny. Again, you are implying that something "should be done already" purely because you subjectively think so without having any real idea about how much time, effort or process is actually involved in making something done. So, you have no idea about something, but you insist on being right.

Quoting developers - any developer, not just PD - is useless. Production of games is complex and highly demanding work that involves countless challenges and problems. More complex your game is, more issues are likely to happen. Someone can say something in the goodwill or with the position he was at some particular point of time, but the situation may change and some particular goal becomes postponed. Again, you can quote whatever you want for purpose of the WitchHunt, but it does not change the fact how even the simplest task can be delayed because of something.

From what I have learned in past decades of my life regarding game development - and especially about game development of extremely complex games such as Gran Turismo 6 - gives me the grounds to say how I find the existence of various bugs and glitches "reasonable". If you would ever have a chance to see how does a PS3 game code looks like - and especially how does a cross offline-online PS3 gamecode looks like - you would maybe have a better idea what it actually takes to develop and make functional the software of GT6 complexity.

Also, you sound very childish with calls about "incompetence" or calling GT6 a "piece of crap". You have all rights to do so - everyone is free to have an opinion - but if you truly believe in aforementioned attributes, I have to tell you are either demanding the impossible, or living in the bubble where complex software lives without bugs or you are simply deliberately setting your expectations too high, assuring the foundations for disappointment.

My subjective opinion, of course.

redbull junior cant be used online anymore. someone can confirm this new 1.03 bug?
I don't think it's a bug. If you bring the X2014 to any single player race, all the other drivers also use the X2014. I think PD made the X2014 into a separate category.
