Double-edged sword this one, on the one hand the expensive cars can no longer be traded and people have lost out. On the other hand there's the loan system so you can borrow cars which'll be handy for maximising income in the seasonals, also the rare cars are rare again.

I didn't do much trading so am not that bothered about it, would be nice to be able to earn credits quicker and have a few more races though ...... we can always dream!

Am i able to send 1000 ticket?

Yes. One per day, PER SYSTEM. You can't send one to a sub account and send it right back, but you CAN send the 1000 tickets. Looks like you'll just have to wait another day to send it back.

Looks like it's the same for parts and paints, too. You can send 5 per day PER SYSTEM, *not* per PSN account. I just tried it with a 2nd account on mine - sent a 1000 ticket and five parts to it, logged into that account, and can't send anything to anyone. It says I've reached my daily limit.

Or: Conspiracy theory: this is to convince a lot more people to sign up for Remote B-Spec?

I had an other conspiracy theory: Duping was making that almost nobody used the sharing/borrowing. The top feature implemented by the nephew of Kaz. Not to disappoint his nephew, the duping had to stop and be replaced by the masterpiece of Kaz Family. [/sarcasm/joking/really]

This patch has introduced a slight hiccup. It seems to now play the GT Life menu music while racing o.O

A slight warning would of been nice

Say a week or so.

I'm fine with the no trading anymore, but PD should of at least let the people who sent cars properly the chance to get theirs back. If you've lost cars from duping like me , who cares, it's a risk we all took, but to punish the legit guys is pretty sad.

Maybe they should look at why people are trading so much. Maybe due to a completely lacking a-spec ?

This just proves IMO, PD have no idea what is happening out there.

Did you realise there is a "LEND CAR" option?

I do now. I didn't when I gifted the car. Are you suggesting that it's somehow MY fault that I lost a 12,500,000 credit car because I was using a feature of the game the way it was intended to be used with no possible idea that it would be removed with no warning?

Seriously?

In this case I'm being punished for being one of the people not copying cars. I sent a F1 2007 to a friend so he could use it in the seasonal event and whilst I could have copied the car so we both had one I did it the honest way and just sent the car. Now I am down a 12,5000,000 credit car through no fault of my own.

I guess the lesson PD want us to learn from this is that if you find an exploit in the game you should use it as much as humanly possible before it is removed because if you try to play the game in an honest way they will @**@ you over too.

Yeah, PD's thinking seems to be that since it took them more than 5 years to get the game out (half-assed and unfinished as it is), it should take you at least that long to play it. Who knows? Maybe by the time we're all done grinding our way up to L40 A- and B-spec (say around 2025ish), they'll have GT6 ready to go.

But at the time GT6 will be available, 20 millions cars will become 40 millions cars..you know, the inflation..let's save credits now for GT6..

Limited trading ? Ok. But they have to make a little bit easier to buy these cars. Who will buy a 20 millions car, and then don't even have no more credits to buy a sport air filter? I mean, you just grind 20,000,000 and will have to grind again to mod the car.. well done PD! They really know who to make GT5 players happy.

I should have exploit the birthday trick a much more when it was possible. shame on me.

Pants! I just traded a JagXJ13 for a 2J to use in the Historic car challenge - was bankin on trading that up for a F2007/F2010!! Nevermind, this has probably just added to the lifespan of the game for me because I will have to earn cash for my cars rather than trading with a duper!! Back to the grindstone!

I lent out a bugati veyron to my friend. Does this mean I can't get it back?! He's not done using it.

Your friend has received some involuntary charity! Have you got that warm fuzzy feeling inside?

Sorry to joke, i couldn't resist:sly:

Since this seems to be the main thread on the issue, I'll quote this here for feedback:

Since they've developed whatever code in the game to differentiate between car prices when gifting/trading, PD should *eventually* come to the sensible conclusion.

Equity.

You have a certain line of "trading power" implemented as a credit limit. It's viewable by those on your friends list, and represents the highest value car you can send. Starts at 1 million, and builds by racing/completing events/hosting remote races. When you use your trade equity to send a car, it drops by the value of the car you sent down to a minimum of 1 million Cr.

With this solution, the rare/expensive cars become tradeable again, but retain their value because you have to earn the right to send/recieve them. The single car per day trading limit could be retained with this system, OR the minimum trading power could be reduced to 0 and the one-per-day restriction could be removed entirely.

Do I expect them to actually realize/implement this solution? Of course not, it makes way too much sense.

In GTPSP, there were two options for Gifting and Trading cars. The common/unexpensive cars were able to be gifted to friends, whilst the expensive/rare cars were only to be used in trades. Maybe PD are going to come up with a similar thing?

GTP is already a running joke on other forums, you are really not helping.

Personally I like this update. PD are really heading in the right direction. Removing tyres from PP was a brilliant move.

What? It was never intended to be used like that. It was intended to gift cars to others and in this case it worked perfectly. Gifts are not meant to be returned. I'd hate to see what you are like the day after Christmas.

moronic update.

Like so many others have said here, this was a way to get around the god awfull economy in the game. I'm sick of playing the same damn track ALL the damn time to get a few measly credits ad infinitum to afford one of the LMPs. It's completely and utterly ridiculous. If they fixed the damn economy by adding more races and VASTLY increasing credits won for a race then this issue wouldn't have appeared in the first place.

I'm still playing the damn game, but by god PD are hell bent on making it the most un enjoyable experience it could possibly be.

Grant Turismo - The unenjoyable driving simulator

Thank you PD for screwing up again! Instead of fixing problems they make em worse. I never duped a car and only traded once (somebody was willing to give me a murcialago for a truck). I did have a second account so I could save up for the only car I was really willing to pay alot of money for. That car is the miura and I only needed 1 million cr. to finally get it. Woke up installed the new update without realising what was going to happen. Started grinding, bought the car and was about to send it to my real account and bang!

This is the best they could do to stop duping? I have no problem grinding, but the grind should atleast be a challenge. Don't reply with "make your own challenge" because a-spec is to easy even when you use underpowered cars!

It's like they don't wan't this game to be good. I am one of those people that bought any gt game without seeing a review because I'd expect it to be good. Won't do that next time and I think many people with me. PD should start listining to the complaints because "the hardcore" won't be enought to keep GT alive in the future.

I also gifted a Ferrari F1 car to a friend for the seasonal events. and now will not be able to get it back. I have to add my voice to those expressing extreme frustration at SONY/PD for the ridiculous approach to managing things. Give us what you promised at launch, and THEN start thinking about ways to fix the other issues...

Ridiculous.

I cant get online on GT5 at the moment but all I want to know is did PD get their backsides into gear and sort the joining mid race on shuffle servers freeze bug??

... all I want to know is did PD get their backsides into gear and sort the joining mid race on shuffle servers freeze bug??

Oh no. They had to attend to much more pressing issues. Problems like limiting gifts to one per PS3 and 1 mil cap. Don't you feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that PD have their priorities straight. :boggled:

/sarcasm

If they want to take away trades, then they need to raise the money payout on the endurance races at least, Make it millions on the 24 hour races. Make them worth doing.

ANd I miss the Championship races in GT3 or 4 (cant remember) where you can do it over and over and keep winning great cars. SO many great cars here that you cant get without grinding forever. Until all the grinding started, I only played GT5.

But PD has made me decide to buy a Xbox360 and start the Forza series. I was going to buy a whell and seat, but now...I think I want the Forza first.

I don't get how X2010 would be the reason for the $1M thing... you can't buy an X2010 can you? Nor can you sell it?

To get rid of duping, get rid of gifting and replace it with a Marketplace buy/sell area. Charge a fee in Cr to sell.

Yes you can. Get to level 30 and check the Gran Turismo dealership and you'll see colored X2010s for 20,000,000 credits. You have to be level 40 to buy one though.

I just sent a formula gran turismo to myself this morning from another account after I updated last night. Worked like a charm. I was mad like the rest of you but for the time being Im getting lucky. others should try it out and see what happens

I have never duped before and tbh I couldn't care less if people are annoyd about not being able to do this.

But seriously Trading was a good way of getting those expensive rare cars which you hardly ever see in the game, or simply can't afford when they come up.

So really PD, u have *****d up here! Trading will obviously not be continuing as nobody is bothered about trading cars less than 1million!
