Well, its still would be around 80 times cheaper than buying 200 mil in US storeCurrency conversions not being 100% exact is normal. They round to nicer looking numbers, generally.

The Japanese version of the in game economy is 100x that of the rest of the world. A 1m credit car in the UK edition is 100m in the Japanese version.
I meant IN-GAME credits prices, not actual real life prices.
Your post was in response to someone pointing out that 200 mil equates to 2 mil in the non-Japanese game. The Japanese version of the game has all in-game money values at 100x higher than the American version.Well, its still would be around 80 times cheaper than buying 200 mil in US store

Oh, alright then.I meant IN-GAME credits prices, not actual real life prices.
The difference is, the cost of GaaS should be amortised over the period, not both...Jim Ryan will run PlayStation to the ground. Even Poliphony is going the route of GaaS. What a ****show.
As I have just commented in response to another post - WoW is an 'aaS' game. You pay monthly for it and, as such, don't expect everything on release. This is a first party AAA title, as such you have paid for it all up front. If you play something like World of Warcraft, do you demand to be able to raid the hardest boss a couple of weeks after release, so that all players can enjoy the content? It wouldn't feel rewarding at all for the people actually working their way towards it. Most people playing WoW never get to experience that at all, ever.
My only complaint with the credit rewards is the low payout for online racing. Doing daily races and championships you're actually contributing to the game's attractiveness.
And it's this kind of complacency that allows these awful practices to continue.I like to think that 'we as the community' are not overreacting like you are now.
Given the general state of the games economy before the update, I'm inclined to believe that these changes weren't rolled out with the pure intention of Goodwill. Some payouts were observed as being comparatively way too low, Fishermans ranch was apparently way too high. Clearly these were errors in the first place, and now it reads like they're fixing them. Simple as that.
Wow.. that's HORRIBLE.View attachment 1125353
Here's a chart showing all the events and the change in payouts from pre-1.07 to post-1.07.
It goes well more than just being a "nerfing Fisherman's Ranch" situation. Its a pretty dire situation altogether.
Not a good look.
The problem is the people using cheats like Save Wizard on offline save and make MTX uselessNow I'm wondering, being that the game is 'always-online', what is going to happen when the GT7 servers inevitably get shut down? Will the GT7 disc turn into an expensive drinks coaster? Will it get patched so that single-player always remains accessible?
They don't force youI will NOT buy your credits, Polyphony. Never.
If a company like Rockstar went down like this, PD isn't a surprise.Never thought that PD will go down like this, forcing mtx on players...
If GTS is anything to go by, GT7 will receive substantial free content updates over its lifespan. If they choose to monetize it via whaling instead of trying to charge everyone a recurring subscription fee or selling paid DLC, I think I’m ok with that as it’s surprisingly compatible with the way GT’s economy has always been tuned. As I have just commented in response to another post - WoW is an 'aaS' game. You pay monthly for it and, as such, don't expect everything on release. This is a first party AAA title, as such you have paid for it all up front.
Imagine getting Uncharted 4, playing the first 3 levels and then being told you need to go back and do levels 1-3 another 100 times before you can play level 4...
That's a question that'll likely be answered whenever GT Sports servers go down. With GT5 and 6, the disc is still playable and progress can be saved, it's just that all the online events are gone. Since GT Sport and GT7 require internet connection to even save your progress, it'll be interesting to see what happens with GT Sport. Now I'm wondering, being that the game is 'always-online', what is going to happen when the GT7 servers inevitably get shut down? Will the GT7 disc turn into an expensive drinks coaster? Will it get patched so that single-player always remains accessible?
I prefer to have tracks, cars and events for free via updates like GT Sport !!!Instead of this underhanded approach to MTX, why don't Sony and PD charge for DLC car packs? That way things don't come across badly and the community won't be on your back. They could give circuits free, so we can all play them online, but keep cars premium so you will have an additional revenue stream. I would not have an issue with that at all.
Oh how they wish they couldThey don't force you
They just block all of the paid content. They don't force you
Adjustment of payout/rewards have been - using a rather loaded word, I admit - a common dogwhistle for reduction of that, even outside GT.Adjusted the rewards = Sales of microtransactions are too low !!
