Considering the wait, are you happy with how the finished product appears to look?

Maybe they'll add them later or they're hidden I guess, now to wait for the app to be out and a new copy of GT6.

This might be slightly annoying... only 24 tracks?

Shame.

Time to wake up those long forgotten, dormant alternative PSN profiles of mine, I'll be out of save slots by next week otherwise.

"Section Tracks", where the start point and finish line are in different places, cannot be used in the Community area or the Open Lobby's time trial and drift trial modes.

So, my download bar has been stuck on 51% for the last 5 minutes, and the time keeps going up.

EDIT- Restarted the download...

I guess it's still a tad early, but anyone have the app showing up in the Play Store (Andriod)? Maybe I'll have to wait some hours for the west coast to meet September 30th.

Just got back from having a go on my mate's iPad.

Few things:

  • Minimum length for straights. Efiel Flat is 300m, other tracks it is 600 - 700.
  • Efiel Flat is the only area to have image importing.
  • You cannot upload multiple tracks at once, you have to 'test drive' them before hand.
  • You must have a curve after the home straight.
  • You cannot place two straights after each other; there much be a curve in between.
  • Minimum width is 6m, maximum is 15.
  • I saw no option for point to point but I could have missed it.
  • No measurements for banking, just titles.

Will the tracks created still be able to be used when they kill gt6's servers?

It'd make sense that you'd still be able to use them and export them in some format that doesn't require the GT6 server, hopefully that will be the case.

That said, Kaz and PD have made various statements on development that's been going on in GT6 - how code is being made to work in multiple environments, and how assets are being made to be dynamic and scalable to any spec of hardware; I'd be willing to bet that most of what we're seeing here in this course maker will end up in GT7. It doesn't make sense for them to make this such an endeavor just to have to scrap and re-build.

That way, they can keep existing assets and framework (like this app) and let users keep the content they created, allowing it all to carry over into future iterations. I could go on and on about what GT7 could be, but this isn't really the place.

I'm hopeful and excited for the future, but right now the present is getting a little bit more exciting...
