I'd say patterns are also very tentative information.
That's part of the definition of speculation: reasoning based on, usually, incomplete evidence.

When we know stuff, that'll go on the News pages. Stuff we want (cars, tracks, features) goes in the Suggestions forums. The speculation threads are for reasoned guesses based on the evidence - which is what's come before.

The guess you quoted isn't entirely great either, focusing only on GT6 returns when, usually, at least one new-to-franchise car is present.
Half of the last six content updates (1.19, 1.25, 1.29) have included no new-to-franchise cars.

It's not necessarily a grouping of cars I'd agree with, but it's a decent fit for the overall pattern and the content included in at least one previous update.

There were these news of Lancia 037 apparently being scanned by PD more than half a year ago. Considering that PD usually takes about that time to finish a car, chances of 037 appearing are quite high imo

Thought I'd give this a go, I heard that there were usually between 7 to 13 cars in an update so here's my list

1 - Amuse 380RS Nismo Super Leggera (N400)
2 - Chevrolet El Camino SS 396, 1967 (N300)
3 - Ferrari FXX, 2007 (N800 or Gr.X)
4 - Hudson Commodore #7 Mario Andretti, 1948 (N100 or Gr.??)
5 - Isuzu 4200R Concept, 1989 (N300)
6 - Land Rover Range Rover Evoque (N200)
7 - Lexus LFA, 2010 (N600)
8 - Mazda RX-8 Type S, 2007 (N200)
9 - Mitsubishi i-MiEV, 2009 (N100 or Gr.X)
10 - Oldsmobile Toronardo (Jay Leno), 1966 (N1000)
11 - Pagani Huayra, 2011 (N700)
12 - Tesla Roadster, 2008 (N300 or Gr.X)
13 - Volvo C-30 R-Design, 2009 (N200)

i think the FXX is a GR.X car, not street legal, not race car legal, the same like P1 and Zonda

By the same time i think i've read an interview about deep forest. so yeah. This and that look plausible to me

I would want some LMP900 cars such as the Bentley Speed 8, Audi R8 and BMW V12 LMR. I think they'd be competitive in Group 1, more so than the Group C cars which really should have it's own category. A feature I would want added is the ability to edit windshield banners, as opposed to having just three options. Surely it wouldn't be that hard to implement.
If you look at the qualifying times of Le Mans 1998 to 2003, you can see that in rl they wouldn't be competitive at all. They were slower than today's LMP2 cars and actually equally fast (and slower than the Peugeot 905) than the post-chicane Group C qualifying times.
I'd cut Gr. 1 into hybrid and non-hybrid as the problem is not necessarily performance - this can be adjusted via bop - but different performance at different parts of the track (corner exit speeds are ridiculously high for hybrid cars, but their top speed is not that great).
You know what would be awesome? A 4th daily race where the only thing known is a starting time. The car and track are randomly drawn every time. Maybe 5 minutes to qualify, once everyone completes their entry. I would do "Race D" all day long.
That would be epic... Great idea!!

I'm inclined to say that we'll get the FXX. Last update had the P1 GTR and the one before that had the Zonda R. And as @OJT6627 suggested, the Lancia 037 is possibly coming as well.

As for tracks, that's harder. I'd say that we'll get a new fictional track, as we had a few real tracks in a row. Also I'd not be surprised if we get the older Montmeló layout or the short layout. The track itself is there in both cases (as is with all the other layouts possible), it just needs to be opened. That'd be somewhat easy, right? Plus, the existing track is named "Grand Prix Layout", implying that there's more to come as most tracks simply have the current layout named as the track is in the selection screen, and then "No Chicane", "Short", etc.

Next update will probably have more cars. Not more than 14-15. Most probable ones IMO are
Nissan Fairlady Z '07 (N300)-Twitter hint
Cizeta Moroder V16T '91 (N600)-New brand
Ferrari 250GT Lusso '63 (N200)-20 million credits
Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing '54 (N200)-another 20 million credits
Lexus LF-A Nurburgring Package '11 (N600) or '10 (N600)-a matter of time
Mazda Eunos Roadster '91 or '89 (N100)-a matter of time
Toyota Corolla ?, probably GT-Apex '88 (N100)-Initial D popularity, Kaz had a Corolla
Ferrari FXX '07 (Gr.X)-track ready machine
Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1 '09 (N600)-american car
Lamborghini Reventon '08 (N600)-GT6 highly detailed
Chevrolet Camaro Z28 '69 (N300)-a muscle car to balance Ferrari and Merc
Mercedes SLR McLaren '09 (N600)-mission 34
Bugatti EB110GT '96 (N600)-new car
Porsche 918 Spyder '13 (N900)-new car, first N900. It is really wierd that there arent any N900 cars. Maybe a DLC trio like Gr.2?

Theme-late 00s early 10s supercars. As for the real track, probably Spa. Also new layouts for fictional track or returning tracks like Trial Mountain, Deep Forest, Grand Valley, Apricot Hill, Midfield.

Wondering, if all the FIA Exhibition races, were giving PD time to build new official GT4 & GT3 cars.

Still don't know about past race cars like the Polo GTI Cup cars, Micra Cup, Spoon Fit, what classes they could possibly be in.

Gr.X imo since they are specifically made for One-Make races.
But if PD actually rework bettwe the category, i can see them being put based somewhere on a Cup\Racing category

Given the Christmas period and plenty resources being dedicated to new tracks. I’m not expecting a whole host of cars new to the series. Looking at trends I imagine we’ll see the Minolta Toyota and Peugeot 905 added soon. On the road car front PD seem to be adding 80’s/90’s supercars so that could be the likes of the Jaguar XJ220, Bugatti EB110 and Porsche 959. We are also long overdue new rally cars, a number of which will be the competition version, of recent additions.

It will be interesting to see if PD make any fundamental changes to the structure of the game, ie classes. This off season period is the time to do it.

The 300SL was never THAT expensive in the previous GT games, so I'd doubt it would ever suddenly be 20mil.

I'll be honest and realistic. No pessimistic. But realist!

We will not have update.

Or...

Eight or ten GT6 cars. Remastereds. Maybe an debut car, but vintage or classic car. For what? Not to pay the expansive royalties.

Circuit?

Maybe the new layout of Dragon Trail (Seaside + Gardens) or Catalunya Classic.

And we'll be happy again. Happy for PD to release in october 2017 fragmented GTS in 15 parts. And few people realize that. We are happy that it is free. In fact, we pretend it's free. Because we are fans.

I wouldn't mind that, but the multi-class option needs to be adjustable.

Lately there has been an intensifying tendency to bring back manufacturers last seen in GT6, such as Maserati, Pagani, Pontiac, etc. However, TVR was one of the very first non-Japanese manufacturers featured in Gran Turismo. So maybe TVR next?

Wasn't the Cobra 500k in GT6? Now, it's 2mil. The GT40 is 2.8mil. It's possible it could be over 1million. Maybe not 20mil, but knowing it's history and rarity, maybe.
