^ Well that's a big deal to me. Anything that involves grip progression is. Tire physics? That's very interesting indeed.

Yeah but that is just my opinion on what it is. It may be something with the suspension (which I haven't touched anything on most of them). My Supra RZ is gripping more in the front than it was and there is less wheel spin now than before the update (almost like the final gear was moved to the left if you catch my drift). Mostly it has been aerodynamics and minor tweets to ride hight.

So it could be either tire or suspension physics. Like i said i can't put my finger on what exactly it is.

Anyway off to bed. I'll do some more testing. Next time I get online. Testing is just making me love my G27 more and more

This thread is about unannounced features. The changes to the PP system have been announced and are being discussed here.

Here's my experience with the 2.10 as it relates to my CSR Elite wheel. I was on the firmware that ships with the CSR E (probably 721 or 737?) and as soon as I did the 2.10 update, there was a gaping deadzone in my wheel and it made the cars really oversteer suddenly.

The fix: Update the firmware to 757 👍 Everything seemed to be back to normal; no more crazy deadzone. No tuning changes needed that I've found so far.

after a couple of hours testing... tire feels more progressive IMO.
but there is a subtle change, when ai tested the Lambo Miura, Galladardo Chrome Line, it felt really different, heavier I think, has anybody feel this?

a really subtle change.

Have anyone noticed how the engine breaking and tires feel totally different , on a few of my cars i could drop a gear and almost lose the back end instantly for drifting but that no longer happens also there is a huge change in either tires or suspension , can feel over and under steer much better personally for me i love the new update , gave up online races on month 6 of release as basically its shockingly bad and F-offed of the same grid lineup people choose same cars , but i may attach gt5 to my driving rig once again yay

Ran in to an issue when I have my DFGT and a Controller plugged into the PS3, the X button on neither of them will work. Unplug the Wheel and the controller works fine.
Trouble shooting now, just curious if anyone else is experiencing this? Checked the Hardware settings, button assignments for both the controller and the wheel. Testing a few more things.

Make sure your pedals are plugged in. The only time that happens to me is when my pedals are unplugged

There were some very noticeable changes after the previous update (2.02?), so may be changes you didn't notice then?

Ps3 is dead atm so wont be able to see for myself for a week and a half or so.

I know for sure there is some changes. I pay attention to that many details. I know physics change a little bit on a daily basis but this is too much

I play it everyday, well at least 3 or 4 times per week, but yeah, PD is known for not telling al the details on the updates, but anyway it feels better.👍

Maybe its my imagination:ouch:

clutch problem has been fixed. You no longer need to perform the unrealistic action of completely removing your foot off the gas pedal before pressing the clutch to shift. This lead to missed shifts at a very high rate- leaving you in nuetral and bouncing off the rev limiter.

As far as I knew this only affected Logitech wheels with gate shifters. I am beyond thrilled and just had to make a new thread.

What a beautiful day.

Words can't describe how happy this has made me.

My AUDI R10 TDI has a HUGE understeer after 2.10 update which never happened before. I have to increase downforce on the front end to minimise it. But it doesn't correspond to all cars. Physics, downforce, grip or something else was changed?

Thanks you that is amazing.

Down shifting you can literally hold the gas down all the way and shift hahaha (blown engines anyone?)

Up shifts

As long as your RPMs do not hit rev limiter you can shift with throttle

I always thought this car had terrible grip to begin with. I don't think it has to do with the update.

However, I think 2.10 or 2.09 changed the way rain affects the track. When it rains, the track uniformly gets wet. When it stops raining, the racing line gets dry a lot faster than the rest of the track. Sometimes you'll find puddles in the racing line that sprays water up from the ground, but you can't see the water sitting in the puddle or anywhere on the track. The only bad part is that there isn't big difference in grip between being on the dry line or the wet line.

I think this is easiest to see on Monza by setting the track to 50% wetness (0% weather and 0 changibility) and letting it dry afterwards.

And others who have mentioned simliar.

I don't play a lot any more, but a couple of days ago I was driving a stock Tuscan in the Brit Lightweights at Trial Mountain Reverse, no aids, using DS3. Yesterday I did the update and went straight to the same race.

Something felt different with grip - lock-up under braking seemed more progressive (no ABS). I wasn't sure if it was my imagination, or the fact that I could remove all the ballast (about 50Kg) due to the PP change. I thought the tyre squeals sounded different too, a bit more natural as traction was lost and gained over the bumps.

I'd be interested to see if anyone finds anything more concrete, or if it was just a figment of my imagination.:dopey:

.

That's been in the game since the beginning. And it goes both ways. As the track becomes wetter, the racing line is dryer for longer. As the track dries, the racing line becomes dryer quicker than off the line. This adds some great strategy to the pit stops, when to pit, to keep on inters for longer, and if so, keep them cool enough they don't burn out.

If you pit for dry tires as the track is still wet, you have to stick to the racing line tightly or you will spin easily. There is a huge difference in grip if you have track grip set to Real.

About the ABS part. Yeah a update or two ago made having no abs on more progressive. It has gotten better and better. You just need to find the right brake balance

Until they take circuits to PP values, they will never have the right values to have close racing.
That means for each circuit different PP even with same power/weight or aero.

I don't really notice the difference in grip if grip reduction is set to "real." That's interesting that it's always been there. Before, it felt like the track had uniform grip in all locations.

I think the physics is unchanged from 2.09.

I've been testing some cars to set regulations for a racing league as well as prepping for a race. Cars handle the same and lap times are also the same as on 2.09.
