Oh negative Nancie's go away.
Oh negative Nancie's go away.
Ok, you're not getting it.
Let's say you saw someone buying a soda from a soda machine charging $1.50 per can, and let's say that you knew that 10 paces away there was a soda machine charging $0.50 per can. If someone came up to you and said "you know, you're throwing away money", would you call them a "negative Nancy"? No! You'd say thank you for letting me know that I'm wasting money.
The idea is to make money with the lottery no? But you're not, and it's not statistically possible. What you're really buying with your lottery ticket is an imaginary world where you suddenly get rich. You buy a fantasy where you can spend your lottery winnings. It's an emotional escape from reality that you're spending that dollar on.
Focus on reality. Spend your money and time on something that will actually benefit you and you'll find yourself less interested in the fantasy and more interested in what's actually happening.

I don't know exactly, but from what I understand, the lottery earning for the operator(the states) works like taxes. In Oregon where I live, they fund projects with the money gained from the lottery operation.Does the US lottery give any money to charity?
I heard on the news that this lottery is also open for Canadians. Suppose I go down and buy the winning ticket? I guess I'd be obligated to buy Premium at the very least!
I bet the reaction of Americans would be amusing if a Canadian won...
When is the next drawing?
Tonight, cutoff is at 9cst I think.

I like Colbert's numbers.
1,2,3,4,5,6
Which is odd as I have that same combination on my luggage.![]()
It's awesome if Canada wants to play in our lottery. It generates revenue for the state, so Canada subsidizing the US government is perfectly fine (aside from the fact that the government has a monopoly on gambling).
Good to see that I still have time to go out and get another ticket, I was looking over the one I bought earlier today, only to realize that the person running the lottery machine gave me $5 for the Cash 5 rather than the Mega Millions. I usually check, but the place was packed with people trying to get tickets that I must have forgot. Oh well, it won't matter that much if I win tonight though. No, the cutoff is 15 mins before the drawing. 10:45pm EST ,9:45pm CST , 8:45pm MST, 7:45pm PST

The Wisconsin Lottery site says tickets must be purchased at least one hour before that night's drawing. It does say 9 PM CST.

Aw man, I'd be so gutted to have half of half a billion. That'd suck eggs. The article I linked explains that you want to pick high numbers (over 31) to improve your return on the dollar because you're less likely to be splitting with someone who picked birthdays.
