Dear all: Awesome job on the magazine!!! Thanks a ton!!!
I have a question:
I am a 'real life' amateur racer. I got recently started in autocrossing and club racing, and am also a novice track day instructor. I am co-author on my friend Dave Gran (seasoned succesful racer) with his webpage that is a guide for beginners into real-life racing:
http://www.goaheadtakethewheel.com
(Check the blog - I am 'astrophysathingy' there).
It is a free resource (former book turned webpage) that the Sports Car Club of America recommends to its members as a novice guide. We even have a free mentor program where we connect beginners with experienced racers who volunteer their time to give advice.
It turns out that to get into motorsports, all you need is very modest money, and a normal street car, even an economy car is totally sufficient.
Dave and I were thinking that there will be many GT racers would be interested to try out real life motorsports - all of us are racing addicts after all. GT got me into real life racing (By the way, we know a bunch of US champion level club racers who love GT5 so much that we race online together - yes, GT5 is that good).
Would there be an interest from your side for an article that summarizes the options to get started in racing, with links to our page for further reading?
Thanks a ton! Cheers, Kai
