VCRC vintage & low power :: Sunday 3pm GMT / 10am US EST

^I'm going to be joining Brandon's lobby^ can someone tell me if anyone else ends up hosting so i can add them please?

I'll open a room. Send me a FR on PSN, BrandonW77. We will delay the start until about 10:15 or so to give everyone a chance to get added.

EDIT: It's been my experience that if a FR is accepted after the room is open then the person can't join the room. I will wait to open the room until 10 or 15 after the hour to make sure everyone can get added before I open the room. Send those friend requests as soon as you can.

I'm opening the room now. If you send me a FR after the room is open I'll accept it but can't guarantee you'll be able to get in.

I'll start qualifying at half past the hour.

Pretty good race, quite enjoyed that despite not seeing much action myself. King was predictably too quick for me to catch up to and I just managed to fend WiiFreak off enough to not have to deal with battles from behind. Good stuff, catch you all again soon 👍.

Good racing everyone, thanks for jumping through hoops at the last minute to make it happen. Turned out to be a real good one, I really liked this combo.

Thanks for hosting Brandon:tup:

I had a great race, almost caught WiiFreak at the end.:), though I could tell that this was helped by a few missed shifts, cause otherwise I'm sure I had no chance.:(

Great fun racing with Daddy-o at the beginning of the race. We swapped places quite a number of times, and then when I thought I had him and could pull away, he pulled off a fantastic outside pass that left me speechless.

I even almost caught up with Brandon before the pit-stops, so I had a very entertaining race.:)

Thanks everyone:tup:

What magic is this where @WiiFreak qualifies fifth and finishes fourth? Was he blind in one eye and driving with one hand? Was the sound off? Was the television on?
:DI was thinking the same , when he joins a room I usualy think : Ok , calm down , second place is the maximum today
he was using h-pattern and "clutch" ! So we all got lucky today:gtpflag:

Great race today! I don't think I'll be trying that early-pit strategy again any time soon, though (at least, not without testing that the rubber will last the distance). Looked good initially, when I was third after pit-stops were done, but then everybody's tyres came up to temp just as mine fell off the cliff, Pirelli-style. :( Not much you can do when you're suddenly 2 or 3 seconds off the pace. :scared: Well, other than become a rolling chicane!

Thanks again for hosting, Brandon. 👍

Great fun today. I had a great battle with sail for awhile and it was very thrilling. Now I wish I either saved the replay or remembered that pass I made on sail because I don't really remember :dunce:. As soon as sail started pulling away from me I basically gave up. I really shouldn't give up because when you've mentally lost the race you've physically lost the race. One of the most important rules to racing is never give up and unfortunately I broke that rule today :(

I saved the replay, so I was able to take a look and the beginning of the race was quite a battle.👍

@BrandonW77 and @daddyo845 had quite a battle for the first five laps with me right on their rear-bumpers, and then at the beginning of lap # 6, Brandon finally got past daddyo.

I passed daddyo at the beginning of lap #7, but then daddyo re-passed me at the end of lap # 7.

We were door-handle to door-handle at the beginning of lap # 9, but I couldn't get past.

And then on lap # 11, I was finally able to make a decent move on daddyo and made another pass, and then began to pull away. I then ran two very fast laps, lap # 12 was a 1:19.794, and lap # 13 was a 1:19.476, so I was able to consolidate my lead and chase after Brandon for the rest of the laps up to the pit-stop, though I could never quite catch up with Brandon before he pitted.:(

I also took a look at the end of the race, and saw how I caught up with @WiiFreak. On lap # 31 WiiFreak does a 360 spin-out in turn one, and loses about 5 seconds. I don't know how he only lost 5 seconds, if I had done a 360, I would still be stuck in the sand. Great recovery after the spin WiiFreak!👍

See you on the tracks!

^ I had a couple moments in turn 1 as well and found that the "railing" kinda bounced me back on track and pointed me right where I needed to go so it didn't really hurt my lap time at all. I normally don't care for Eiger for racing but had good fun and felt the track paid nice homage to the rally history of the Alpine. 👍

I always check the replays , just to take a look at the good moments:tup:
and I wanted to know how I could do that 1:37,9xx in the 37th lap ! anyway, end of story , there's no real difference between the other laps , I still don't know how I did that !
And I decided to use the clutch and H-pattern for next race like @WiiFreak did, if we have a nice car with a good gear ratio .
I have a lot of practice with the clutch but never tried it in an online race !
we''ll see how it goes:confused:

I noticed during qualifying that the split-time being displayed is sometimes messed-up:confused:

On a couple of my qualifying laps I was seeing a red split-time of 33.xxx in about the middle of the lap.

I wasn't 33 seconds behind my own time, and I wasn't 33 seconds behind KingKling's time, so what did this represent?

Did anyone else notice this?

This has happened to me and @Dragonwhisky during Kart testing. When I have the fastest lap, it displays splits correctly. When he had the fastest lap it would show the middle splits being anywhere from 20 to 30 seconds out, depending on the track.

It's either Japanese math, split times being sent incorrectly or not at all.

That was probably my favourite moment of the race. It's not often that I get to perform a donut in the middle of a race

It was a fairly frustrating race for me sadly. Not so much because of the clutch, but because by chair kept sliding around due to the extra feet work I was doing. I had to keep readjusting my chair every lap to try and stay comfortable. Thus I was constantly distracted and made more mistakes than I would have normally :yuck:

I have this happen on every track, in every room online and has been like this pretty much since the beginning. The first sector is usually correct but all sectors after that show me as being 15-30 seconds off the pace. It's quite frustrating. I've also noticed that when you're doing the "race alone" qualifier it doesn't give you any info on your sector times compared to other drivers so you have no idea if you're on the pace or not. Would be nice if these things could be fixed in the near future, kind of important features.

So.......H-shifter and clutch for you from now on then?? :dopey:

The news just keeps getting better and better! :gtpflag:

The split times have always been wrong for me when someone else has the top time or a time haven't been set. Ruins a bit of the fun of practising together with fast drivers because you can never compare your splits to theirs, except for the very first one.

I've also encountered a problem with splits in the race. When I'm in the lead I only get one split per lap, when I pass the start/finish. I don't know if that is every track but it's definitely been like that on Nürburgring 24h all this time.

The rest of us can only wish that you were laying down 1:37.xxx laps at the end.;):D

But I'm afraid that it was a 1:17.9xx:ill::bowdown:
