Nice, 90s and 80s Mercs can go on and on forever, so well made. My dad had one up until a few years ago.
They were also available with two versions of a 406ci (ratings of 385hp & 405hp). Also two versions of a "427" (actual displacement was 425ci) with ratings of 410hp & 425hp.
Surprisingly, the Galaxie competed, and won, in the British Touring Car Championship in 1963, I think it was the previous version?
Jack Sears won that years championship, mostly driving the Galaxie 500 but also Ford Cortinas.
And won .That is an awesome piece of motoring history
When Big fords went against small minis head to head
Actually some of the Minis won the big Fords. And won .
Yeah, I figured as much. Really depends on the driver and the track. Anything with quite a few straights, I'd imagine the Fords did better on.Actually some of the Minis won the big Fords.
@Slash, didn't these have a 409 and a 427?
I guess you are right.Yeah, I figured as much. Really depends on the driver and the track. Anything with quite a few straights, I'd imagine the Fords did better on.
Thanks, I'll add that in! 👍They were also available with two versions of a 406ci (ratings of 385hp & 405hp). Also two versions of a "427" (actual displacement was 425ci) with ratings of 410hp & 425hp.

Fixed, it was a typo 👍.@Dagger311 The base model actually had 515 ft-lbs of torque.
7 years of production but apparently only 13 made Bristol is (was) a bit of a strange company.
Yeah super rare and very expensive. I saw one on show at Goodwood this year, coincidentally next to a Viper RT-10, where it gets it's engine and drivetrain from.Fixed, it was a typo 👍.
And only 13? Wow. No wonder I've never seen one, not even at a show.
Bristol were never very good at the production side of things. Or marketing. Or actually making money...13, that's less than 2 in a year.
I like the idea of european supercars with massive american engines
It gives them character actually
Enough said. All of these... Artworks are amazing.
I'm not terribly sure, to be honest the only one I know anything about is the Shelby one . I'm pretty sure A/C Cobras had V6's before Shelby got ahold of them.As with the Ace cobra they didnt have v8 engines originally right ?
Only when caroll shelby came along
Originally the AC Ace Bristol (Cobra base chassis) had 2-2.6L I6s, with about 170hp at the most. It was only when Shelby came along when they got V8s.I'm not terribly sure, to be honest the only one I know anything about is the Shelby one . I'm pretty sure A/C Cobras had V6's before Shelby got ahold of them.
Edit: Seems as though they had 260's.
