Hey, I just did my third ever teleport superjump. No loading screen and not very high this time, but it did have something special to it! :mischievous:

My bike also caught on fire during the bounce. I don't think it was a very good bounce anyways.

Spuds, if you're updating: 600 seconds in Bloodring

Updated--

--also, I don't know if anyone has noticed but I've been putting a link to the screenshots for all new #1 records.

If I ever get time I might go through and do that for all the records but if anyone wants to post links for their records--feel free and I'll move them up to the first page (saves me the time it takes to search through 77 pages of posts).

Apart from the fact that so few screenshots are there, that's a really good idea, I might implememnt it into my record book. So, which one of us is doing San Andreas Record Book? Scissor, paper rock you for it, best 3 out of 5?

Me and Jimmy exchanged a few PMs and just so everyone knows, Jimmy Enslashay is going to run the GTA:SA recordbook for as long as he wants. I offered to take over for him if he decides its too much work or he just doesn't want to do it anymore.

He has shown he comes here very often (the first requirement in keeping up) and I gave him a few pointers to make his job a little easier (at least initially).

I had qualms about running one from the start because I want to play GTA:SA like I played VC and III-- without any spoilers and running a recordbook, you are bound to read spoilers inadvertantly.

Anyway, after the game comes out, don't expect me to be posting too much here (or not at all) other then in the VC threads (if anybody else is posting to them)-- I'm very serious about avoiding game spoilers-- I just found both VC and III more enjoyable by not reading about every little thing--- makes discovering them that much better.

Everyone wish Jimmy luck-- it will be alot of work initially so try to be patient with him and don't overwhelm him with stat posts.

This is why I don't read any of the San Andreas news threads. I was interested ages ago just to hear overall rumours about gameplay and what have you. But I don't read those threads any more because I don't want to know the details and history of every single character before I play the game. And I don't need to know about all the missions already being leaked from Rockstar.

I'd rather discover the game on my own, complete the missions and get as much % complete before I start looking for help or reading faqs.

Well, I was going to do one today, but I'm not going to beat that, so thanks KM!

Also, I think I will be fine running the SA Record Book. I mean, I will be playing it alot, but I don't like missing out on the internet, so I will be here almost as often as I am now.

About the spoilers, I was going to try that with VC, then with SA, but I just can't. It's done a complete turn-around actually with SA, I've become (with a couple of other people) pretty much the main new news poster, and I try to find out as much news as I can!

Thanks anyway guys. It will be tough at first, but I think I'll be able to handle this. Thanks for the good lucks. 👍

Yer welcome.

My advice is to open the record book after a couple of weeks so you won't have to deal with people posting things like "150 people killed" or "27 cars destroyed" and that kind of silly stuff. So don't even bother starting the thread until there's something worth posting.

I think we should all encourage several spoiler threads for people to post whatever they want so that the record book thread doesn't get overwhelmed. Since it's your thread Jimmy you should come down heavy on spoilers and silly off-topic posts and you should link to threads where off-topic stuff can be posted. It just might take a while for the new plague of regulars to understand how the record book and things work round here.

Thanks anyway guys. It will be tough at first, but I think I'll be able to handle this. Thanks for the good lucks. 👍
Well Jimmy, as long as you turn up as regularly as you do now and edit the record book as often as needed and follow Spuds' example, you'll do a good job. Don't forget that me, Spuds, Famine, Blake, Acidman, yourself etc. and any other regulars know how to spot a GTA bull****ter so never be afraid to PM us and ask for advice.

Seriously, good luck with the record book.

I should be OK, I spent some time on NeoSeeker, and after you spend time there, you begin to be an expert at spotting Bull****ters.

Also, I'm preparing the record book over the next few days, so that when it comes up, all I have to do is copy and paste from the Notepad document I'm doing it in. Thanks for the idea of rules on Off-Topic and Spoilers, etc. Forgot about that one. 👍

The first thing you should probably do is when you start your first game is to note what's in the game stats page. Lots of records won't turn up until you unlock missions or finish races or whatever. But you can at least format a new record book in notepad when you take a look at a blank stats page in a brand new game.

fixed the typo-- :dunce: sorry.

I went to update your height and cone crazy-- they were already in the book-- you already posted them-- then I realized you were posting pic links....duh :dunce: :dunce:

Not much of interest there, just to get my name up here. I realised that alot of my good records have been on previous save games. :grumpy:

Also, I'm gonna be having a crack at some racing records today. Hopefully I can get something.

Here's some more records:
Downtown Chopper Checkpoint -- 1:45 - Jimmy Enslashay
Little Haiti Chopper Checkpoint -- 1:40 - Jimmy Enslashay
Vice Point Chopper Checkpoint -- 1:33 - Jimmy Enslashay
Ocean Beach Chopper Checkpoint -- 1:30 - Jimmy Enslashay

How in the hell did you get so good times KM?

Thanks Spuds!

Sorry about the confusion. You know me, if I got a new record, I'd have to have a story about it!

You did work out that you can land and take off (sort of a bump on the starting point) so you start with some speed right??

Other then that he is going to tell you to just memorize every checkpoint and work out any and all short cuts-- I can't come (very) close to his times and I honestly don't think I had any room for "significant" improvement-- I could probably knock of a little time one some but not much.

I do both of those. It's just the routes he takes I think and the short-cuts he's come across.

Also, I think there is 1 of them I can come close to with a few more attempts, I can't remember which one though. :dunce: I'll have some more go's at it tomorrow.

Practice. Lots of practice.

There's a few seconds can be clipped off my Vice Point time because I've never managed to perfectly navigate the last bit through the trees and perfectly make the final turn before picking up the last checkpoint.

Doing the Chopper checkpoints is like the street races or doing stunts. Most of the time you'll screw up and have to start again. You can't get low times if you hit anything. When I clip something I just land the chopper, get out and back in, fly back to the start and start all over again.

Also, like the street races I keep a couple of checkpoints in my head and know what a good time is to get to them. If I'm a couple of seconds over time then I just quit and start again.

Well, that's the Chopper Checkpoint I'm talking about. I think if I can perfect the last turn, I can get up to your times, while improving on the whole thing of course!

I was going through my stats a little while ago and saw that my Test Track time was a weak 2:37, so I decided to race it again. I know that I got just under 2 minutes, but when I finished the race, it said I failed to set a new record! What the hell is up with that! :irked:

Did your time change in the stats??-- you might have the glitch (I have it) where your test track and trial by dirt times are the same (I forget which one it actually is).

The times are the same in the stats. I noticed that a long time ago.

After I did the race and it said I failed to set a new record, I did look at my stats and it still says 2:37 on both! I am positive that I got a better time. Don't know what's wrong.

Some programmer screwed up... if your time showed up in the brief screen or on the screen after you finished--post a pic of that.

Also, I forgot Famine had a farther superjump then you--no screenie required for your 722-- updating--

Yeah, I was wondering why you wanted a screenshot. Oh well, I'll probably get one soon (when I beat Famine's distance record and your rotation record ;) )

God you're a determined one!

There is a glitch, like Spuds mentioned, where your Trial By Dirt and Test Track times are the same. Check both.
