• We’ve addressed a game exploit whereby players could use Forza Edition cars to gain unrealistic leveling and rewards. In the interest of maintaining game balance, we have instituted rewards changes for all Forza Edition cars, replacing flat XP secondary rewards with a percentage-based credit (CR) reward. With this update, all Forza Edition cars will offer a primary percentage CR reward and a secondary conditional percentage CR reward. All VIP Forza Edition cars will now offer a primary +50% CR reward and a secondary conditional +50% CR reward. For example, the 2000 Nissan Silvia Spec-R Forza Edition previously offered a primary CR reward of +25% and a secondary flat +5,000 XP award after 3 good drifts in a race. With this update, the Silvia now offers a primary reward of +25% CR and a secondary reward of +25% CR after 3 good drifts in a race. As a further example, the 2014 BMW M4 Coupe Forza Edition (a VIP FE car) previously offered a primary +40% CR reward and a secondary flat +10,000 XP reward at the Nürburgring. With the update, the BMW now offers a primary +50% CR reward and a secondary +50% CR reward at the Nürburgring.

They've closed the loophole... most of the XP gone

Getting absurd credit bonuses in place of flat XP bonuses is a perfectly fine tradeoff. If you do a decent length race you'll be blasting up two or three levels each go anyway.

Yep.... i mean once the VIP rewards come in that's like having one of the card mods anyway.... i made about 300k and got 2 cars in about 25 minutes last night doing a nice free-play 10 and 15 lap race around the alps track .... can repeat that a few times quite easily ..... its not a bad balance

Now that both the +XP and glitch have been patched, which is definitely good for the game in general, I wonder if T10 will trigger a wave of save resets or bans to bring play credits levels back down to "intended" levels, in preparation for opening the Auction House?

A few outliers (people with a billion CR) have already received lifetime bans.

I would expect they will, not idea who will be targeted but they can tell who got greedy and abused the glitches to progress into the game with XP and or credits.

If they look at mine they will see that I have driven just under 10,000 miles so far in 470 races, own 360 cars, several of which were cheap ones, have just under 4 million credits and am at level 241.

Now if they look at some of the heavy glitchers they may see lots more cars, credits, xp, races or all of those but far fewer miles driven and since both credits and xp are based in part on miles driven this is a dead giveaway for those who spent a lot of time glitching to get ahead.

Then they should not have stolen the VIP pre-order bonus money pretending the benefit was as in the past.

T10 caused the issue themselves.

Part of me kinda wants them to do the opposite and give a reward to people who weren't abusing them. Something exclusive like, I dunno, a special racing suit that has a credit bonus attached to it when it's used, or something along those lines. Not only would it be positive reinforcement to play fair, but it'd also infuriate the glitch abusers because now there's a thing that they can't ever have, and if they complain about it T10 can just say "uh yeah, we see you're already level 310 and have 250 million credits... you don't really need it".

Considering people would have been doing this anyway even if the normal VIP bonus was in effect, your argument doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. The problem with the FE cars was more about people using it to level up abnormally fast and give themselves dozens of free cars in a couple hours via the level reward system, which they could potentially use to flood the auction house with.

Also, Turn 10 "stole" the VIP bonus? Ooooooookay.

Yes - the money I paid for VIP by pre-ordering the deluxe edition was stolen.

They failed to deliver the service/product I paid for.

That is theft of service.

And as for flooding the auction house, who freaking cares. Every time they have had an auction house it has been an unmitigated distaste.

Us offline folks don't care or use those stupid tools. never have and never will.

If anything, maybe misplaced since we're now actually getting a worth while VIP :P

It's ok, some of us do.

I liked the auction house in Forza 2 quite a bit, never much interested in it after that. I used to buy and sell painted and tuned cars there all the time.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. People who intentionally made their games crash in order to generate in-game income/bonus cars should be dealt with.

People who used the Ram FE truck's 7500 XP bonus to level up quickly were actually doing so by playing within Turn 10's rules and shouldn't face any kind of repercussions.
