Personally, I think 300bhp is not enough when you have very good aero to hug you to the track. It's actually very difficult for me to drive with that little power, as you can't push the car around the corner.

I say 400 at least for this standard.

Ok, so which cars are taken, and which cars are available?

Irish, any. We're still testing the cars. I imagine that you can pick any car you want.

Yasher, we're basing this series off of real life VLN specs. The VLN runs ST cars with 2 litres of displacement and about 300 hp. As for your suggestion, though, I might make the cars with higher displacement than 2 litres (Skylines etc.) run a higher class with more HP.

Hey guys! With 4 days until the first preseason round, I'd like to ask everyone to please build and tune a car to be ready for Friday's preseason test.

For now, I'll ask that people try their cars with the given specs (they're in the Original Post (OP)) and Racing MEDIUM tires. If you guys don't like the specs as they are, I'll discuss our options later.

However, this will likely mean a 450 hp SP class, for cars with more than 2 liters of displacement.

Yes it does, but 320hp is the correct spec. The RX7 after further testing needs to drop to 295hp. The NSX RM 305hp (same weight). I think the SP class shouldn't be. It's too much like other GT series here. Just running ST class Touring cars that I spec'd is a lot funner and closer.

Mr.M,
We need a final decision on what track we are racing at this Friday so I and other's can practice a bit.
Thank you :)

I agree. This should be one class. I do think points should be separated into FWD, RWD, and 4WD categories.

Theres no reason to do that. 'Run what you brung'. FWDs are faster to make up for tire wear.

There would be an overall points too of course. I should have been clearer, but another points standing to add more drama and strategy in the mix would be neat. Gives you more to think about while in the heat of the battle.

Let's run Le Mans 2005 this Friday, just because it has that long straightaway and lots of corners. I think it might offer the best equivalency between corners and straightaways.

Also, make sure you use the Le Mans 2005 layout with the chicane please! :)

Testing today went well. The series should be challenging. As an extra challenge, I'm running ABS off too!

I don't run with ABS off. U want to skid around the track go ahead. I stopped racing in series's that had TC & ABS off. It's not fun with all the changes that were made to GT5. You can count me out of the series if this is the case. I don't like to run with weather on, but I'm willing to give it a try. Not with the TC & ABS off.

Both those aids will be on... He is just doing it for fun.

Weather is actually fun when the racing is close. Rolex proved that last night!

NISSAN GTR R32 TC- 315hp 1145kg

Ok cool ... when is preseason going to start?

Friday, ITCC time. :)

Also, TnT, don't worry, I'm not forcing the assists. I'm trying to learn to control the car without ABS, because my real life car (Hyundai Accent '09) doesn't have ABS either. I used to play Forza games with no assists, but that was too easy, and the brake lock didn't feel right. Now, though, I feel like GT5's braking is a little bit better (especially in the rain without ABS) and I feel like it's a decent way to learn to control the braking.

Cool story Seth. I'm really having a crisis between the Lexus that cnd sent me yesterday (which I've yet to drive) and my beloved BMW 320i Touring Car, which I had built for 500pp lobbies. Of course, the BMW is one of the best tuned cars I have in my garage, because of the year I've put in tuning it. I'll ask that everyone post up their personal considerations for cars now, please. :)

This series sounds good! Can't promise I can make all the races but I would like to sign up with the NSX RM. My PSN is OK8_

After the 20 minutes of unofficial tuning today, I can definitely say that this series has potential. The races will be great with 8+ drivers. Today, manrikitabako1 backed out, but we still have at least eight interested drivers. We have plenty of cars to choose from, challenging circuits, and a good field of competitive drivers. It should be a great season.

Are you going to put a registered drivers list up on the OP?

I would love to get a photo of all the cars on track lined up in a certain way ... My personal opinion is that will be the best representation of the series ...lol ... too many ideas running in my mind at the moment ... :guilty:
