Wallbanger's "Tons of Fun"(Final Round Underway)

I should be able to make the deadline. (away from my family at Thanksgiving 🤬🤬:irked::mad: ) but my daughter just called me and said she got me a car that I'll hate to tune, but it's a winner....... we'll see.

Hope everyone is enjoying this interesting shoot-out 👍

Lolol every story I hear you say involves your whole family playing gran turismo. I wish my entire family played it.

Fixed this elsewhere but wanted to make sure the following get the recognition due them.👍👍

Special thanks here to madmyk for generating the score sheets and to DigitalBaka for setting up and handling the photo polls. Also need to thank Dragonthing for the great event banner and krenkme's family for the F.I.T.T. banners they have provided us.:gtpflag:

Also tuner sign-ups have been going great so far. If I can get 24 committed tuners before the posted deadline I'll move things up a bit and get the show rolling.:D

Nooooo! Don't move it up yet! I need to figure out how to tune an FR so it stays facing the right direction at London! :scared::mad::banghead::lol:

I said if I get 24 commitments prior to the listed deadline. Hasn't happened yet...:D

If you get 24 I'll withdraw and hide the thread until I figure it out! :D

With my patience that might take weeks.... :odd:

Ok my cars done, but I need someone to host it for me. I planned on using the Veyron, but all the ones I have are fully lightened and maxed back up goes to 1625. It can make weight easy without the final lightening kit so if anyone has a Veyron that hasn't been lightened and can host I would really appreciate it.

I planned on buy one from OCD but this is the first time it isn't there so I can't buy a new one.

Also does the pic have to be at one of the courses?

I believe I have a Veyron that is untouched, so when time comes you can post the tune and I'll place it on share for you.

You can take your photos anywhere you want.

Ok thanks a lot. My tune is actually identical to the one in my garage only sports soft tires, full ballast set to -36. Of course only stage 2 lightening to get to the weight restrictions. I'll write it all up and post it here as my final so add this one to my name not the one in my garage.

So, 0:58s at London and 1:47s at Monza from 700+bhp, 1800+kg and a tad over 560PP. That'll do for now...

{Cy}

PS - Sports Soft tyres are good for a few seconds per lap over Sports Hards ... aren't they..?? :-p

Pah! 0.57 at London and 1:48 at Monza from 620+hp, 2100+kg and 525PP. Should have entered it in RVR's shootout :D

I feel completely stupid for trying to pick a car I actually wanted to tune :scared: 500bhp and 1900kg are nowhere bear enough to win anything...looks good though

Hey, you wanted to tune it, that's a good enough excuse to enter it. Even is it doesn't perform. And you know that E55 cruiser you once talked about……fully weighed down, it's 2110kg, all removable mods on, 717hp and 771lb-ft of torque. Give that a go, eh? :D

Nope, because it is total ass to drive...the only tune that works is not mine and I really don't feel like arguing with 700+bhp or having drivers complain that my car dares to wheelspin, or isn't glued down

my car hates the last 3 corners of London, but 53's in my hands will garner me nothing too dragon..I'll hear how it slides, and the wheels spin at London, I wasn't going to do an AWD/4WD as I have feeling there will be a load of them.

I was planning a 4WD too, but I changed my mind from the obvious Alfa Brera, only choice other than a Nissan GT-aRse or an Audi RS6 Understeer edition...as much as I love my Brera, and my orange RS6...

I was looking at the Alfa Romeo Brerra but it's so slow and underpowered compared to just about everything else I've tested, not to mention fairly light.:(

Of course I'm leaving final choice of my entry to my 82 year old mother who still tends to have a rather heavy right foot...guess it's a good thing she drives a 4door Ford Focus SE in real life and not one of these monsters!

You do realise…there is the big yellow penetrator. :sly: :D

Ahem, Veyron. A well bult one of them is going to be hard to beat. Can't bring myself to submit one though. I started to build one, but then started feeling dirty about it...

Same as you, SS tyres.

If I put a slightly altered (read as slower) gearbox into a Veyron, I think it'll walk pass every other Veyron here aside from the GME drag one on which it was based :D

Just out of idle curiosity Desp, how are you going to divide the tunes into groups? Order submitted perhaps? Names out of a hat?

The times I posted were on Sport Hard tyres, if you highlight the whole of the post, you'll see. Childish, I know... :P

It's going to be somewhat based on order submitted.
That had been my original idea but looking at the list of tuners so far and a few that are currently missing but that I hope will join us I decided to mix it up a bit more. Part of the reason I wanted to finish getting tuners commuted before people started posting tunes was to hopefully avoid a discussion regarding the fact that I had knowingly placed all the heaviest cars in a group. Reason I've changed exactly how I plan to group tuners is to avoid a discussion about me placing certain tuners in groups to make it harder/easier for them to win their groups because of who ended up in that group.

Nothing is perfect but I hope to keep debate over the fairness of group placement to a minimum.:D

I find it good practise to build on lesser tyres than you anticipate the car will be run on. If your car runs well on lesser tyres, it'll be a dream on the intended ones...

And I'm gonna do that for a car that has more power than any road Ferrari in the dealership bar the Enzo??

Hmm……I'm not so sure……

I'm in, and this time to win the beauty contest with a fast premium matte red car and a poddle that don't like pianist.
