Wallbanger's "Tons of Fun"(Final Round Underway)

About the ballast. If I have a car that qualifies stock, but want to add weight, will I automatically drop down to 1 point for weight and loose the tie breakers?

I remember reading that if you add a ballast to get the minimum weight that you'll get only one point for weight and will loose tie breakers. I was just wanting to know if that went for all weight adding.

I'm still undecided about entering, but if I enter with the tank car, add 200kg of ballest I'd win that, and if I take a great pic of it and it wins the photo poll I'd win that. I'd lose on the time attack, but two out of three aint bad. Is that how this would work?

That was regarding a car that was right at the 1650kg minimum. If you have a car with the minimum entry weight, no matter how it's achieved, you guarantee that you'll only get 1 point for weight.

Of course that may not matter if you are tops or near tops in the other 4 categories.

You've got the idea and a strong drivers choice placing would help. Of course if someone else has the same idea you could be in trouble.:D

@wildheart90 to be honest I don't feel either does a good job of showing the car and lean more towards the artistic photo side rather than doing a good job of displaying the car in question for judging.

ahh alright I am a tad confused, would there be any examples of what a good job would be?

I'm still confused. So 1650 is minimum weight. If I enter the exact weight I lose 1 point. So I will obviously enter my car at 1651 lol. People are saying it doesn't go by times I assume they mean not only times as in there's other categories too, right? Or is this like not counted as time for some reason.

Also can these photos be edited since anything goes it says? If so be prepared for my car to be driven by James Bond flying threw space lol.

Ps add me to tuner

Put it simply, more weight = better.

1650kg = 1 pt

1700kg- 1800kg = 2 pt

1850kg- 1950kg = 3 pt

etc.

I think, anyways :D

Not exactly Onboy but close.

Okay say for a group of 6 tuners you have the following weights.
3000kg = 6pts
2700kg = 5pts
2400kg = 4pts
2375kg = 3pts
2121kg = 2pts
2059kg = 1pts
Now a second group has the following weights.
2348kg = 6pts
2260kg = 5pts
2010kg = 4pts
1895kg = 3pts
1780kg = 2pts
1710kg = 1pts

So the heaviest car in a 6 car group will get 6 points and the lightest car will get 1 point. Since 1650kg is the minimum allowed weight it will automatically be the lightest car and only get 1 point. Remember also that if 2 or more cars have the same weight they get the same number of points for position which is equal to the lowest position so in example one above if the top 2 cars were both 3000kg they would both receive the same 5 points that 2nd place gets. So if 2 or more cars in a group weigh 1650kg they will all receive the 1 point for being lightest.

Hope this clarifies the point issue for weight.

@Shmogt send me a PM confirming your entery as a tuner and I'll add you to the list.👍👍

sean10mm received your Confirmation and added you to list of tuners.👍👍

I think I need to spend less time staring at my creation and drooling, and more time writing down my settings and getting photos ready to post...

Question: would I be allowed to submit a composite photo? I have been experimenting with them and I think it would be cool to try...

It's much preferred to only submit photos that use only the in game tools. Plus remember this is more about displaying your car at its best than about an artistically done photo.

For everyone looking at doing their photos for this, you'll want to make sure your car is the focus of the picture and displayed at its best. Location, lighting effects etc can all be used to enhance the presentation but this is about the car and its looks/style and not making an artistic masterpiece.👍👍

I bet my car gets dumped for something far less...unspeakably amazing :embarrassed: and I get you there, I was just curious since I was planning some photoshop stuff anyway for posting elsewhere :D

Picked my car fully on weight, looks and sound. Going to shoot it in factory colors with factory rims and probably in it's home country.

Oooo so we want points lol. So I could choose win fastest time at both places and get 12 points plus 1 for lightest and end up with 13 already?

Can we post edit photos yes or no?

Yes that is the idea about points. Number of points actually available will depend on group size so if there are only 5 cars in a group maximum will be 5 points, 7 cars equals maximum of 7 points. Remember in the first round you'll only be competing with the cars in your group. The top two cars in each group will then move on to the final round.

Hmmm...think we need to restrict photos to only editing and effects that can be achieved in game. That should help keep it focused on the cars and make it less about the artistic/editing skills of the various entries.
Feel free to post any sorts of photos here whenever, however you'll need to post one clearly marked as your entry when testing begins and provide DigitalBaka with a link to that photo via PM.

Also got your PM Shmogt and added you to the confirmed list.👍👍

You could choose to win fastest time with a light car, but I don't think a lighter car will be fastest at Monza, and maybe not London. I haven't tested anything in the 1650-1750kg range that is within 3 sec of my heavier vehicle at Monza.

So far I have to say this is one of the best competitions. The best strategy will not be known until the end. It is too hard to predict how different methods will work out. I also like how people are not sharing their times and car choices as much. More mysterious. :boggled:

Unofficial photo time!

Over 2 metric tons of fun. :dopey:

To my surprise I stumbled on what feels like a good setup very quickly while being less ham-fisted with the alignment settings than usual. I don't expect it to be absolute fastest but it's a good all-arounder and very user friendly (and shouldn't kill the tires.)

The neat thing about this competition is that, like madmyk said, I have absolutely no idea if I've picked a good strategy or not.

Lol ya my strategy right now is exact same as it was in the last one. Enter the fastest, lightest car and try to take the best pic. Worked pretty good last time so hopefully it pays off even better now lol.

As a guy that is massively colourblind and with no sense of style whatsover, I assume I'm a washout when it comes to photos so I have to either go for heavy and fun to drive or light and fast..I'll leave it to the last minute to decide...

Motor City Hami
SL55?

Ye'ah, should be fun having over 1,000hp on sport softs!

In my testing it only has 5 gears so it doesn't spin up very much since there's more space between gears, but it is fun going like 200mph everywhere lol
