Even sonething as simple as like a relay race mode or a track where you can just do anything like forzas benchmark

we need ice cream

but seriously, watch some gt1, gt2, gt3 and gt4 videos if you didn't play those. All 4 are miles more fun than gt5.

I really enjoyed the special events this time. The Nordschleife AMG-Training was amazing. A-Spec was just like GT1. So please make more of those special events. With more real race driver and stuff.

For example:
- Suzuka Ayrton Senna style with a white NSX
- Wangan Midnight racing on SSR7 with avoiding the traffic
- Touge racing/drifting with Keeichi Tsuchiya (name right?) with AE86
- Audi Sport Quattro on rallye /pikes peak with Hans Joachim Stuck
- SRT racing school on american race tracks with Dodge cars
- and more

honestly, the fact that the option "cheese" is nearly twice as popular as those who are against it pretty much proves what the gt community actually wants, a little bit of fun!

Or that this thread is just a little bit unnecessary? A little bit more fun? Seriously? Is it not a little early to be discussing this anyways?

I have Forza 4 and to be completely honest, the quirkier events such as tag and soccer aren't fun at all IMO.

Oh, and these ideas are really good. 👍

The way PD looks at the GT series is that it is a simulator. This in turn makes them think that more fun, and unrealistic race modes would be pointless and cause more trouble than it would be worth. I would love to see some new types of things, but unfortunatly i do not see it coming into gt6,7,or any others to come. Sorry for being rude but, if you want a fun arcade racing game, Forza 4. If you want to sit down, tune a Camaro to zl1 specs and run around the nurburgring and set the exact time as real life, then play gt5.

I'd say part of having fun in a game involves being awarded, for lack of a better word, for your efforts. In GT5, if you manage to tune a Camaro to perfection, ok, well, good job. Then you'd have to find another way of having fun in the game.

This wouldn't be so bad if the driving aspect of GT5 wasn't so bad, but it is; it's pretty hard to have fun offline when the races aren't even set up like that in real life. Playing online, unless you can manage to gather a group of people together, is absolutely terrible.

So basically you're asking for touge and other game modes which gtplanet members already organise. Alighty then.

Umm... No? But this raises a point to me, yes gtp do organise this but how often are you going to find a touge lobby simply by searching online, what you need to remember is most of these touge lobbies/competitions are privately based and also than there is still a huge portion of the gt5 community who arent on gtp

I organise a few but no one seems to care, people join saying for me to change tracks and that they win when they don't just because they crossed the line first. Gtp is the easiest way to get good players and find good online races.

Because there is no designated touge "mode" if there was, Mabye you would have more luck hosting and finding games, are you not beginning to see my point as to what could make gt6 fun for alot more people?

It is a good idea as long as we get mountain passes.

I doubt they'll put car football in, so why not make car ice hockey?

exactly, stuff like this just for a bit of a laugh, some tracks to cater for different game modes e.g open space for car football/hockey, touge mountain passes and drift places like ebisu.

and yes. cheese.

Give us a livery editor, that would be fun, we'd see police cars, race cars and the odd car that should be illegal in every part of the world :P

DEMO DERBYYYYYYY

My team used to play at top gear a game where 1 person who was "it" had to keep away from supercars using a 150 or less hp car. You had to pin him to a wall/corner for 5 seconds then someone else would be picked. Highly amusing and entertaining but also a bit frustrating.

The online racing is the fun.

Though having specific rooms/tracks for other modes is probably a good idea. Drag racing and Drift rooms sometimes fill the lobby list, and the Indy track is impossible to find a race on as nearly every Indy room is a drag race.

Adding alternative modes would probably benefit everyone.

Just essentially for pd to look at other games and see what makes people like them, forza livery editors and perhaps car auction? And the fun game modes from forza, dirt, pgr etc

I think if they add more ''fun'' things in GT6 then its not any more a racing game.
As the Gran turismo slogan goes THE REAL DRIVING SIMULATOR.

I think it might be better for them to innovate rather than just copy everyone else, frankly.

yes i see what you mean but thats like saying your not allowed to do something because someone else done it first :/

I'm saying that blindly following others is a bad idea. Of course you can do stuff others have done, unless there are supposed legal reasons against it, but only if it actually fits in with the package you're trying to create.

The problem with this thread is that it hinges on a particular definition of "fun". Some people get all the fun they need standing outside an airport with a pair of binoculars, whilst others can do nothing less than jump off a cliff and fly close to obstacles in a squirrel suit.

That said, I'm not against things like mini-games appearing, although I think there should actually be a "rules and regulations" editor / tool-set that allows us to create our own games as we wish, rather than rely on the developers' sense of "fun".
