Congrats to @IBZ6L20VT for his win.
To the point who were on which place at the finish line I have a question.
Are there possibilities at all to overtake cars while they are already took by AI?
If the game would be correct, then everyone in the same lap would be finished when the leader is finished.
My suggestion is that nomally everone should know which position he had before overtaking cars driven by AI. This is the position that would be the final result of the race.
My position was third. @Tavilha was in front of me second and @Friday_GTRP was behind me beeing fourth.

I had the feeling that the during online racing the Ginetta was behaving slightly different from offline (usually I train in trial mode): when in trial mode I’m able to downshift very rapidly, 3 or 4 gears in a second, allowing the engine break to help te car slowing down.
Then I went to Wednesday race (I know the day /temperatures are different from time trial) and often I had that (apparently) breaking in the same way resulted in less gears downshifted. So I found my self quite often in a corner with the wrong gear, ending up wide, losing time, etc.

Any idea why? It happens only to me?

Probably different amount of fuel also could do that. I do practice in prerace lobby only. there we go with very low fuel and car feels different in the race where car has more fuel.

So maybe with more fuel the decelration is slower and if I try to downshift as fast as in qualify/pre-race then some of the lower gears are not immediately “accepted” by the gearbox because of wrong revs?

Don't know how game emulate car weight due amount of fuel, maybe it is not just heavier car, but weight balance changes too.

Some crash's in the first few laps, all going at quite a pace for the whole race.

I found this thread on Pcars 2 official forum...maybe it will help with your downshift issues??

  1. Does anyone know if / when the gbox issues (discussed at length on official forum) is likely to be “patched”.
My main issue is with downshifting in some cars (ginneta gt4) and find the biggest problem going from 3rd to 2nd. It is the case that the delay is due to excessive rpm / roadspeed before you can “get” the gear you want. I realise SMS wanted to put a stop to the rapid, unrealistic downshifting that was taking place in Pcars , but I think on some cars they have moved too far the other way.
    Anyway....any info on this?

Currently, it is working as intended. Because it only prevents you from downshifting if you would bang the rev limiter in the lower gear.
According to a post from Casey Ringley
OK that does sound like something in the system is not working as designed. What it should be doing is simple:

    Shift request comes in
Look at what the engine rpm would be if the shift is successful at that instant
If engine rpm > threshold, reject the shift request

Clutch input and even current engine rpm shouldn't be a factor in the equation. The threshold right now is set at the rev limit rpm, but I think it would be a good idea to increase this to maybe 110% of rev limit.

H-pattern manuals leave you on your own. Nothing there to stop you slamming it into any gear at speed.

This is only for modern sequential gearboxes where electronic protection like this does exist.
on the official forum, they might add a bit of leeway, but I wouldn't count on it.
The system isn't set up per car though. The bigger the possible top speed drop is from 3rd to 2nd, the later you can shift. But that's not going to change much, even if they let you shift into a "wee-bit above rev-limiter" region*.

    * Imho, 110% is already too much and likely to re-introduce maschine-gun shifting. 105% should be plenty (would still be 350 rpm on a 7000 rpm car).

Some times I problem changing down in the Mustang, like going to a false neatul. Using paddles, not H pattern.

How do I change the car settings, from loose to one of the others?

Tomorow (Saturday) we will say goodbye to Ginetta at Silverstone National 1 hour race. I will open a room at 6 pm for 50 min. practice, than we will have 10 min. qually and race will start about 7 pm.
I think we should use accelerated tyre and fuel, don't know about whether. It is a short track so we can use random whether and 5-10 time progression.
Any suggestions due to race setup are welcome.

Hi John...
When you go into tune section, hit the 'load a setup' button, then you see a loose and a stable setup to choose from. It you go into the actual tune area you can do custom setups, or if you use the race engineer section there and he makes your changes, you can save that setup and name it anything you want. Just make sure you do saves on whatever you do!

Thank you for your precious answer @Skip7950

This is one of the causes for sure, combined with something else, considering it happened mainly in wendnesday race and never in time trial mode!
Maybe with higher fuel level I need to downishift a little bit slower to be in the right revs range when fast decelerating!

@Napalm_LT : yeah!!!! Farewell Ginetta...

@Sick Cylinder, just out of curiosity, when I play in other lobbies, after Qualify session there is a pre-race start screen where everybody needs to click “ready”. This also happened when @Napalm_LT set up the race last Saturday. Instead when we play on Wednesday, after Qual results the race is started immediately. Is it a setting? You know why this happens?

Ps: @Sick Cylinder I really want to thank you for the gigantic effort in studying, setting up and manage this championships!!!!! It was the first time for me, and it has been awesome!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!

Pps: sorry if I touched your side during an overtake in last race, I slowed down and waited you to overtake me back to excuse me for that :)

Congratulations to Ginetta GT4 Champion DD84UK and Vice-champion Friday_GTRP

Senna The Career Track List 2018.jpg

No racing on 14th February. New Championship - The Senna Career - starts on 21st February at the Nurburgring GP circuit - please take extra care with braking at the first corner of this track as it is a bit of a "bottle neck".

Please read posts 1-7 on page 1. Note - there has been a small change - driving line is no longer available. I don't think anyone uses it, but if they do, we have some time progression / night racing coming up later in the year so it will be helpful to get used to not using it well before then!

Good luck everyone in the new championship! If there is anyone who is reading this who has not raced with us before, but would like to join in, I am expecting this series to be full with spaces for reserves only, but there are normally one or two people absent so it is definitely worth signing up!

PS - We have a few spaces available in our Monday Series in which we are replicating the 1965 F1 season with the Lotus 25 - hurry, they could soon be gone !!!

Sick, on March 14, it shows we race at Spa, but is it the modern track or the historic?

There is setting for this "ready" function

I dont understand that game. Couldnt pit to change tyres to wet during practice because pit request button didn't work.
In the race pited to change tyres to wet but tyres werent change like it was last Saturday.
Tried to pit two laps later but got message pits are busy :) What is this? Same was next lap. On the one more lap I pitted and my tyres were change finally.

I enjoyed this race a lot. Saddly not many jpined.

I had no issues when going to pits.
I set “change tyres” to ALL in the strategy (instead of recommended) and before the race start I had to select again the pit strategy because it was changed automatically to the “default” one after the qualify.
Hope it can help...

Ps: you had wet tyres when you passed me? You were sooooo fast!!!!

Sorry I went Napalm, pitted, sent me back out without changing tyres, fuel went in. Tried again same, so was slipping off, so decided to quit. Was enjoying the rain as well, when had wets on.

I think it happened that you selected a certain pit strategy during practice/qualify but you dind’t Select it again before race start. Unfortunately you need to do that every time a new session starts, or from ICM...

can i join you guys

Hi. We are racing on Wednesday. Room owner is @Sick Cylinder, amd earlier he have mentioned Wednesday is fool, but you can sign for reserve if someone don't showup.

We do race on Saturday 6 pm, based on Wednesday race, but tyre and fuel set to on. If you would like to join to Saturday race, please send frien request to Napalm_LT. We have plenty off room. Saturday race isn't "official", but everyone must keep clean driving rules in the beginning of this thread.
