Why is john missing?

Today I was really off my game.
I noticed that. Because I know you've got more pace than me I'd let you pass 3 times but then I'd overtake you again on the same corner (before the bridge) where you'd gone off track. On the 4th go I thought I'd slow down and let you back on track. :)
Tav's not having a good day I thought to myself. Not that you can think about too much else while piloting the 98T.

And talking about off your game - @Sick Cylinder that's a couple of races where you've had trouble, are you feeling okay? You know if you're not feeling well at anytime we'd understand if you were to call off a race or two.

Today I was really off my game... wasn't relaxed at all, and made a tonne of mistakes. Sorry Friday for being in the middle of the track at the end. Fortunately, it was the last lap, or I could have put you trouble.

Maybe I am wrong, but IMHO you did practice with low amount of fuel and needed some time to get used to weight/balance change (12 l in qually and 82 l in race) and it cost some mistakes in the first laps.

We got slight contact when I was overtaking him on the fast last corner. I got away with no damage but I managed to get his car upside down... He retired at that point.

We clarified what happened in private.

Yep, I thought exactly about that weight difference and the feel is f the car. But normally a spin or a visit to the gravel with no damage doesn't bother me. Yesterday I found myself jittery and overreacting to the car's tiny slides.
On to a new season!
Team USA ftw!

I had a lot of trouble driving the Lotus when turbo kicks in, on the little twisty bits of track.

Haven't driven any of new cars.

Hi @jammy21. Good to see you are back behind the wheel.
Manual pitstops I think.

5 X time progression
1 mandatory pit stop between 10 minutes and 20 minutes
Rolling Start
Team Championship
Interesting changes and additions Sick. 👍

Funnily I've recently been experimenting with different times of day and progressions. There's some really nice shade and sunset/sunrise effects. If you include the weather and seasonal differences you could have a different race each time. SMS have got that nailed down. It's a shame not to use them in our races.
Daytona is great at night. Sunset at Dubai is lovely. Indy at sunrise is nice.
Indy Road in summer with a 5 or 6 am start and your x5 progression would look nice with the sun rising over the stands. ;)

Go team Europe.
If any of the team Europe guys doesn't like their car choice I don't mind swapping. I can crash anything. (As long as that's OK with Sick)

Haven't driven any of new cars.
The 40 is a bit twitchy (but there's no turbo!). The 49 feels like a more muscular 25 - so good.
I've only tried the BMW so far and that's not too bad.

Could I change to Ferrari?

Yes - No problem.

Question: is pitstop manual or automatic?

We haven't done pit stops for a long time because they were bugged with default setups on PC1 so many of us are out of practise - For this series I am planning to use the pit stops where the game takes control of the car after it enters the pit lane. Is this known as automatic?

We could change the pit stop style for the next series - Aussie V8 Supercars. NB on Monday's we aren't using pit stops in the next two series as the Can Am and Tasman cars had large enough fuel tanks to run a full race distance.

@IfAndOr perhaps you wouldn't mind suggesting start times for the 5 tracks that we are using.

It is fine to swap cars as long as you do it before round 1.

Certainly. I'll get onto it for you. It'll add a new dynamic feature to the races.

For starters then...
Indy road: Default date, 5am start time, 5x progression, spring (default).
3 weather slots: 1) light cloud 2) medium cloud 3) light cloud. Weather progression - sync to race.

There's a glow in the sky and the stadium lights are still on. As the race progresses the moon goes down and the sun comes up with lovely pink sky that gradually clears as the race goes on to produce a nice sunny day. Looks great on the replays.
You can turn off your cars lights about half way through the race.

The only thing I'm unsure of if is if the time resets on race start or whether it continues on from qualification. If the latter the race will miss some of the effects. But the qualy will look good. (You could have an earlier start time for qualy I suppose or a slower time progression) Sorted.

I'll work on the rest.
Would you like rain at all. Perhaps a light shower?

We normally have the race start 1 hour after that qualification start. Can the qualification be set to the day before e.g. 16:00 the day before? - that would be most realistic. I think we'll skip the rain in this series, but have a wet round in the next one.

I'm not sure since I've only gone straight into the race. If you can set them separately that's great. I'll have a further look into it.

I've updated the weather in the above post to include mist. It makes it more atmospheric.

OK no rain. ;)

Edit: Update, you can set the qualy for a completely different time and weather. So that's brilliant. I'll let you decide on those settings. (You could even have rain in qualy, it's so adaptable.)

I've only tried a couple of full races in the Lotus 40 so far and it's lights are plenty good enough for the slightly dimmer start time and looks fine in the mist. The GTE cars would be even better I would think.

Since the track is colder at the start there's less grip (especially compared to qualification) so caution is advised for the first part of the race - which is good!
