Wed 20:30-21:30 UK Time - CLOSED - Suspended until further noticePS4

Hi Hammy - thanks for your interest in the series. Unfortunately the Wednesday series is currently full, but we have one space available in the Monday series. Next Monday we start 7 rounds in the Lotus 49 (without wing) in our recreation of the 1968 Tasman Series (won by Jim Clark).

I would love to have you join us on Monday's if you are available!

Hi @Sick Cylinder ok no worries mate.....Mondays i'm commited to racing in SNAIL group starting next Monday, what a pity, i'd love to do the Lotus!!

If possible put me down as a reserve here for if someone can't make a race sometime, thanks a lot mate! ;)

I've not driven it yet, but how hard can it be :)
Ah the Vette is easy. I'm stuck with the BMW, I rarely get out of 4th gear. :)

Testing the water then? Have you tried out Watkins Glen GP? I like the track, nice flow.

If there's a space for tonight or in the future...
There's a rolling start with a formation lap Zo. The pace is controlled by the pole sitter. Go on green but no overtaking before the start/finish line. Pit stop is required between laps 7 to 12 (usually) - but you have to set your pitstop strategy to not refuel or change tyres! Oh and it's best to not have a mic on since due to a volume glitch it'll deafen everyone in the lobby. A mic in a party is fine though.

Andreas or John usually have a practice room running for about an hour before the race so you might get an invite to that - I'll send you one if I'm on. Even if there's not a space it'll give you a bit of a feel for it.

I´ll set up a practice room using the quali session as in practice session you´ll get huge amont of fuel into the tank (50 to 80 l). In Quali it will be about 10 l and in racing there are about 30 l. And btw if you go to the box using button then you´ll get those 50 l as well. The car will behave different. Sometimes its better to have more weight.

Congrats @Friday_GTRP for the championship win. And from my calculations, congratulations to Team Europe for the team title.
I've enjoyed this a lot. Too bad we couldn't find the time to practice as a team. Maybe 2 or 3 car teams will make this easier, don't what's planned for the next few series.

Here's my footage from today. Had to concentrate hard throughout the entire race to be able to keep Friday at bay.

Replay:

Sorry about the confusion at beginning of the race... My controller got disconnected and for some reason, my car started to accelerate and I hit DD8UK and John Wells by accident! Sorry if I ruined someone's race!

Just for notification @HammyMansell and @IBZ6L20VT You can see your incident also on @Tavilha 's replay video at 1:24:40->

Just clarify, the replay shows the incident as being much worse than it was, whereas the "Share" button video i made below of real time play, shows that there was no real contact, and my car wasn't even showing damage afterwards to support that (see damage graphic on HUD) ....I mean DD braked right in front of me, i did well not to hit him, twice! (when he was spinning back on track).

Gracias! 👍

It is not a first time different players have different view. From your view you can see you touched DD and you must give back a position even it was a small touch (it caused DD spin and position) - IMHO

But i didn't feel any contact, and besides i had nowhere to go with the sudden change en decelaration of DD. Although when he did catch me again, i did let him pass, forgot to mention that before! :dopey:

If that had happened in real life, i wouldn't have had to wait.....Everyone would blame the backmarker for being in the way....

You livestreamed? I have had 3 or 4 similar situations and all these time other guy livestreamed.
You can see DD slowed due to another guy in front and suddenly went of when you closed, even if you didn't feel contact - it is clear what happened. DD isn't a driver who can make such mistakes :). I am not about contact itself, but about getting back position.

A few weeks ago I rear ended Napalm because of lag. In my view I never touched him and in his I bumped him quite hard. I think it's the same that happened between you too.
Honestly, there's noone to blame here, and certainly not the backmarker in this case (I think it was John). He was slower, but kept his line beautifully in face of the blue flag in a very difficult part of the track to overtake. It's up to the faster drivers to be patient.

No i didn't livestream, but saved the incident with the share button post race as i thought this issue might come up, as they so often do in these leagues lol! :D

In the replay the contact shows DD's car come off the ground from the contact, but in my real time play via share it doesn't, the car is on the ground, so the replay isn't reliable as i've known since PCARS1 for the same reason.

I'm not a driver that makes such mistakes. nor having contact on purpose either mate. I race to win if i can. :)

Yeah man, i mean me and DD spoke about it in the PSN chat after the race and agreed that no one was to blame. I was being patient, as into the first part of the chicane i was about a second behind DD, and the to be lapped John, but they both then slowed up suddenly. If they had gotten though the chicane cleanly, without tripping over eachother, i wouldn't have been near them in the second part of the chicane.

Not sure what all the fuss is about, as me and DD had put this to bed yesterday, And if you watch my other video here of the first lap from track side camera, the Yellow Vette and white BMW ahead of me had contact on lap 1, and 2 corners later the same yellow Vette sandwiched the red Ferrari against the wall (maybe unavoidable), but i haven't seen any of that mentioned here lol.

I know i'm the new boy here this week, but really.........

Thanks chaps again, good luck to you all in the Aussie V8 Supercars!!

On my side, the incident was clarified yesterday. No one was to blame.

There are a lot of 'ifs' (AndOrs...) but there is no point on discussing them now. When racing, events develop in the blink of an eye and with hindsight everything seems easier than it really was.

@John Wells was caught in the middle of the mess with no fault of his own. I didn't overtake him because I have the rule of thumb of only going for an overtake if room appears to be sufficient and the manoeuvre safe (As I did with @Friday_GTRP last Wednesday when he slowed down because of a penalty). In this case, John was proceeding slower than us through the chicane and I think he didn't expect us to appear so soon. In the middle of the chicane there is nowhere safe to get aside and let us pass. He slowed down to facilitate the overtake but I was so close by then than I didn't have the chance to change direction safely nor had enough room to do so.

Don't bring me into it, I never saw nuffin. :P

My verdict anyway...
Nothing intentional. Just one of those virtual racing incidents. Brush yourself off and carry on type of thing. On to the next race.
(Actually Hammy did the correct thing in letting DD pass when he could later on. If you slow to let someone pass straight away it can cause more problems to those behind.)

Poor old @Zolon32 as well. He was involved in an incident and ended up facing the wrong way! Strange looking Chevy Zo. :)

Bring on the V8 Supercars. Or Supercar since there's only one to choose. 6 weeks going around Bathurst is it Sick?

Harsk sure you didn't me during, the start, I did pass you on the formation lap cause, spun out.

So no contact, with me.👍

What cars we using next Wednesday?
