@IBZ6L20VT No probs đź‘Ť.

@Tavilha I'm going to have another a go as in the practice room my potential was 1:34.5, I'll post a video when I do.

My race
I couldn't find any room in quail and every time I was on a flying lap I came across traffic, it's something I need to work on.
The race was fun, my driving wasn't, took a slow down penalty on the straight when Tav passed then over cooked the tyres behind him, which made the rest of the race like driving on ice  and with DD catching I didn't help them as he passed me.
Then I bumped @joedakiss Sorry again about that.

The F355 feels really good at Algarve, although I think my practice might have been at a cooler time of day – has anyone practiced with the date/time settings we'll be using tonight? Wondering whether tyre temps will be an issue...

Also, can we clarify start procedure? Whatever we've been doing lately seems to have worked better than the +1sec intervals did, even if I'm not sure if we're all on the same page about when to start overtaking!

Start procedure - Standing Start, Pole Position car goes first, then start row by row - set off after car in front when safe, staggered half race speed - no overtaking until after first corner.

There's an international event in Career, at Mugello, in the rain, then it dries out, need too change tires.

Sick will it be multi class for Wednesday.:)

That was great fun, I'll miss this car (if not its tyres)! Maybe we can revisit it at a later date? I think it would be fun to replicate the Ferrari Challenge tournaments of the late 90s – I believe they were split into Euro, North America and Asia championships, with a round of international finals. We could take the tracks we have in the game from each region and have 'Sick's selection'. Maybe let the 288GTO and F40 play too?!

@IfAndOr PSN name changes are apparently imminent, so be ready to snap up @twocarsback :sly:
p.s. I think I gave both of us a few 'brown' moments at the double-apex right in T3, but all added to the fun!

I enjoyed that. My new starting from the back routine is good fun. I get to see more of you* and it produces some great tussles. I also get to drink a cup of coffee while you're qualifying.

*except for the fast guys. But I don't usually see them for very long anyway. :dopey:

:D Yeah I did begin to leave you a bit of wriggle room. It's a tricky corner to get right, especially when your tyres aren't at their best.

Great scrap with yourself and @beachboy6658. That penalty spoiled it though! (I think for @Oldbass47 too)
I'll have to consider the name change. However I'd feel that I shouldn't overtake anyone then. :)

Great car, ideal for close racing
It certainly is. Just fast enough and just on the right side of being controllable. Certainly worth a longer revisit at some point.

It's also a great circuit you have had built in your garden Tav. Could you just add a bit of camber to the corner Joe mentioned above? :P

Looking forward to this one. Did I read somewhere that I’m vice captain? If so, what does this entail? Which DLC do I need to compete in this with the cars listed?

I'm putting it on a list for next year. At the moment I have in mind a series inspired by the AMOC Intermarque Series i.e. Aston v Ferrari v Porsche v BMW. In the next series I want there to be alternative cars so that people without the DLC don't miss out.

There is also the new 488 race car which was a free download and has three sets of liveries - one for each continent on which championships were held.

Looking forward to this one. Did I read somewhere that I’m vice captain? If so, what does this entail? Which DLC do I need to compete in this with the cars listed?

Full details on the new Wednesday championship should be uploaded (edited) on Monday, but I know you can't wait till then! You won't need any DLC cars - on Monday's you will be driving a blue Aston Martin DBR1/300 race number 44 for team Ireland.

On Wednesday, due to exceptional demand I have listed you as Driver Number 17 (i.e. First Reserve because other people who want to race joined before you). Normally I only list up to number 16 and then reserves, but usually there is at least one person absent so it is very likely that you will have a slot each week.

On Wednesday's you will be driving a green Lotus 40 race number 40. The Lotus is a lot faster than the other cars so to equalise the field the Lotus drivers have to do a pitstop during a pit window from 10 minutes to 20 minutes into the race. If you need to stop to repair damage before 10 minutes of racing, then you will still need to make the scheduled stop as well during the pit window.

The role of the Regular Captains and Vice-Captains is to encourage their team members to put up a good performance (maybe through extra practise), to attend as many races as possible and to give way quickly to faster team mates if they are being caught.

@AndreasR (SimbaLora) is Captain of the Reserve Team - named Moss and I have listed you as Vice-Captain. I will help you with your role which is to try to ensure a full room when drivers are absent. Regular Drivers normally notify via the threads of planned absence due to holiday, sickness and business trips etc. I will be trying to recruit a couple more Reserve Drivers, but don't want too many otherwise they won't get much chance to race.

Hi fellow racers,

I have tested the three cars for the next series at the next track, the mostly dull Silverstone Classic. These are the results:

Lotus 40: 1:30.034;
Ferrari 250GT: 1:40.700;
AM DBR1/300: 1:41.306.

I think that there is a big chance this time for the Am category to achieve great results on qualifying.

I also think that the Ferrari appears to be more suited for the Am+ drivers, as it is tamer than the DBR1 and is also slightly quicker. This might change on different tracks though.

"Mostly dull Silverstone Classic" - it's one of my favourite tracks for the old cars! - infinitely better than the current Silverstone Layout!

When I did the original testing for this series (when the Ferrari DLC was first released) the Ferrari 250 GT was the slowest of the GTC category cars with the Aston being fastest. Maybe recent updates have altered things slightly or maybe your extra speed / skill produces different results.

The Lotus 40 drivers should qualify at the front of the grid as 10 seconds is a big time difference. I might increase the number of pit stops for the Lotus Drivers from 1 to 2 - in testing I found the car was stationary for about 5 seconds and the complete pit stop cost about 25 seconds. I will do some more testing tomorrow morning where I try a stop at 10 minutes and at 20 minutes and see if this is likely to produce a better race.

Depending on the time Sick I don't mind being a guinea pig to drive one of the other cars, don't have much to do at the moment during the day!

Thanks rj - by using a spreadsheet I've decided that 2 pit stops for the Lotus should produce more exciting racing. A stop before 10 minutes and after 20 minutes should see the Lotus drivers having to overtake the GTC class cars, but still winning. I plan to test this at 11:30 am today. If you are online I will send you an invite. I will fill the field with AI at a level to simulate the faster drivers - probably 100/100.

I didn’t mean it in a disrespectful way. It’s only that the track doesn’t offer much appeal to me from a racing perspective.

It’s flat, massively wide, the corners aren’t particularly challenging and there are little overtaking opportunities unless he guy in front makes a mistake. The only challenge comes from the lack of defined apexes.

I do agree that it provides a great atmosphere to race these kind of cars. These period tracks are just a great addition to Pcars2.

I am not particularly fond of current Silverstone either but I must admit that the Maggots complex in a high grip car in real life is breathtaking.

I could do more testing of the cars for the next track. I thought that the Ferrari is much easier to drive (feels like a road car) whilst the AM requires certain technique to use the weight of the car to make it rotate, especially on the ample corners of Classic Silverstone.

It felt like I could shave another second in the Ferrari with more practice.

It appears that I am the only one who finds it bland then... :dunce:
:P

I actually agree it is somewhat flat with no particular features that define it, but it does seem to just "click" with the older cars that Sick uses. The lack of too many tight corners and its width suit online racing with all our varying skill levels. Sometimes! ;)

but I must admit that the Maggots complex in a high grip car in real life is breathtaking.
That's the trouble with sitting in front of a screen, you loose the thrill of the g forces at speed.

This change has been made following extra testing and is intended to improve the excitement of the racing.

he keeps forgeting to remind me
I need someone to remind me so that I can remind you.

I managed to get my Ferrari as high as I could captain Tav. Did I do good? :P
Team Foyt was a little depleted of members unfortunately.

It's a bit confusing having different team members to Monday's meeting. I had to check a couple of times on which cars I should be "assisting".

Ooohh team tactics!
Well since the Lotus drivers generally came flying past anyway I gave up on any tactics and concentrated on keeping @richroo behind me. Although he's my teammate on Monday! You can see my confusion. :boggled:

Edit: Just spotted
"Sony have announced Plus members get 100GB of cloud storage space for game saves. This is a significant jump from the 10GB currently on offer, and goes into effect early February."

I wonder if they will also increase the allocated storage space for PS4 local game saves. It would help a lot in PC2.
