^ I like the way they are looking to see if they can charge him for damaging the barrier before anything else!

Very greasy surface DD. Wasn't too much you (or the other fellow) could do about it. I'd presume yours was a FR drive as well It was a day for FFs by the looks of it.

Looks like you weren't alone either, was this the same day you were there? Looks like similar conditions.

Yep, that was the day, last Sunday. I spent most of the day (getting soaked) around the track checking how others were doing. I spent a good deal of time on this corner but missed this M3 kissing the barrier.

I was planning on doing at least 10 laps and ended up doing two testing laps and half a decent lap. The track was impossible for normal folk. There were some locals going really fast but that was it. Even the taxis were going slow.

This and my video show how bad conditions were. Just impossible to enjoy it when at any point you could end up crashing. As said, this was just a stop on a bigger holiday so there was no point. I cut my video, but right after I get back on track there was a white M4 on the grass, which probably spun at the same spot as me.

I am planning on going again later this year with another (cheaper but more track focused) car.

@IfAndOr yeah, marshals there are quite ‘special’...

Yes, I was driving a RWD car. Frankly, it was a day to stay at home rather than on the track. I spotted a few FWD losing the rear or sliding out of control.

The engine sounded nice in your video! 6 cylinders?

The back of the Lotus 38 always reminds me of this!

Hello,

I am finally back from my small Eurotrip.

The weather was awful most of the trip and especially when I was at the Nürburgring.

We were having wintry conditions and the occasional snowstorm. Temperatures were below zero or just above for most of the day. As it was part of a wider trip, I took a car that is not really track focused, so to not to risk the car or the rest of the trip I only did three laps.

Two of those three were just to test how the track was. On the only one lap where I slightly went for it, I spun at Adenauer Forst after it started snowing.

The following video is just an extract of the whole lap. In his section and after the first flocks fell, the track was greasy so I was slowing down and approaching with loads of precaution. It didn’t work and ended up looking the wrong way, with no consequences.

Wow! The car really snapped over a patch of something (water or ice?). At that point there was nothing you could do, and thankfully you were being careful and going in slow. Awful month of April and early May here as well (first day of fine weather was yesterday).

Hi, guys
back from a little "Tour de France" (was a bit more than 2000 km with our 37 years old camping-car) visited Le Mans and Rouen les Essarts btw.
Now its time I could use a little help from all of you. Tomorrow I´ll drive the EGTM Div.B Leage at Bathurst. There is a fan-boost voting and the one with the highest votes gets 3% more power. Please give me your votes at http://egtm.racing/fan-boost-division-b-bathurst/?contest-gallery-order=random&contest-search=simba thank you
It is only possible to vote once and the voting is possible only today

Well spotted. 3.5l V6.

I can upload and share the lap up to that point. However, at no point it looks exciting. Started trying to find the limits of grip and then started snowing just after a few corners and slowed down.

I think I was near the apex, where there is the highest concentration of rubber. Also, the track still has the old tarmac in that section so it is quite polished. A few drops make the track really greasy, especially where there is rubber, as you are fully aware ;). I made the mistake of following the racing line, as I expected it to be almost dry.

Had a bit of free time last night and didn't fancy venturing into the crap show that is open lobbies so thought I'd try and recreate DD's track day experience. I feel like I had a lot more grip than he had though, probably due to the extra 8°C in air temperature. I used the BMW M2 with OEM setup. I was purposefully taking it easy, trying to remember that I'd have to drive the car home in real life!

@beachboy6658 Minute 12:00 of the second video. Are you still stating: “DDyour trying to go past like I'm not even there, but I am”

Who was the one not realising the other car was there?

Accusing an online racing driver of being dirty is probably the worst thing you can do, especially if you say it in the public group.

Having watched the replay DD I guess I've got to take the majority of the blame for that accident and so I apologise, but I am not accusing you of being 'dirty' at all, especially after watching many of your wheel to wheel battles with other drvers ,which have always been more than fair.I just think you could have been a bit more cautious when passing as you could see I was going to have to move left to overtake another car putting us all three abreast.I did know you were there and tried to give you room but as in all of those corners and indeed some of the following straight I was on the limit of (my)control.

Apologies accepted.

I will still go for an overtake if there is a gap. An overtake will always be risky and it is the responsibility of each driver to maintain their lines.

I assumed full responsibility when at the beginning of the race I moved without realising that Andreas was there. It completely ruined my race, but thankfully didn’t interfere with his. I failed and learnt from it (the spotter is not always as fast as he should), and hopefully there won’t be a next time.

I think what we've learned is that on ovals at speed you need eyes in the back of your head (and other places!) to try and observe everything that's going on around you. As Shauny said it's not just going fast and turning left.

Judging by the amount of times I hit them there were I didn't even know where the walls were! I'd like to apologise to them. And to my car for wrecking it. Twice. :P

Not so much strategy from me this week. :boggled:

I'm sure it'll be ok Will. @IBZ6L20VT and @Tavilha I think you may have a new buddy to play with if Will's early pace on Monday (and rating on GTS) are anything to go by! But he's still a PC2 newbie so play nice :mischievous:
Ahah, I tested the car yesterday and it's definitely much harder than the Chevy on Monday lol. Hope I won't be DQ'd again with the pit stop speed limit...

Also, I've improved my online ranking a bit. I'm now D14xx iirc and I was U1xxx few days ago. Don't know what the numbers mean though ahah.

Don't know what the numbers mean though ahah.

The letter is your safety rating, starting on U then going F-A and eventually S if you're really un-crashy. Sounds like you're making good progress.

The number starts at 1500, and goes up or down depending on results – an uncharacteristically poor result or DNF can really hurt it! I think our room level is between 1100-2000 from memory. In my opinion anyone above 1900 is basically an alien/robot masquerading as a sim racer, but that is yet to be proven. Perhaps Sick needs to start implementing a Captcha code before the start of every race....

See you all this evening for some more wall-glancing.

Do you know I've been playing the game for... ages and I've never really looked into what that all means! Now I know, thanks Joe. 👍

Although a lot of folks dropped out for one reason on another I quite enjoyed the race tonight. I managed to avoid any crashes and crashing keeping it pointed forward.
What I didn't do was press the accelerator hard enough. I was too busy trying to save my engine (seems I didn't need to either!) I let RJ and LC get away. Sorry Tav. :)

I made my own video comparison of a Porsche GT3 RS at the Nordschleife and have just got permission from the original videos owner to make it public:

All I knew was that the the original video was recorded in October 2018 and that the lap started at 21 minutes past the hour.

So there was a lot of changing days, loading, waiting 21 minutes, checking the position of the sun in the sky, quitting, changing... you get the picture.

I hope you like it, I'm astounded at the similarities; not only in graphics and the environment but also how similar mine and //.'s wheel movements are.

Also, people who complain about Project Cars 2 being too grippy should try matching a quick drivers lap in a GT3 RS on Soft road tyres, in October, at Dusk, when the tyres are stone cold. I actually had to reduce the Air Intake and slacken the diff off because I just wasn't rolling on the throttle carefully enough.
