Week 13: Correcting An Error

I knew I had a winner when I realized that I could tune the R390 to the specs. I was ponering whether or not to divulge, but I guess the cat's out of the bag. I too tried the M3 GTR and Z-06 but decided that downforce rules. Also tried a couple of different RUF cars also... I can't take the first kink to the right after the start flat in either of the other cars (though some may be able to) and the balance and handling of the Nissan ROCK. I've been a huge fan of this car (somewhat of a "cheater" in my opinion but fun none-the-less) since its first appearance LOOONG ago (in the game and in real life).

Anyway, after 20 minutes or so:

T1 31.133
T2 1'07.968

Oh, and like someone mentioned earlier, is there a clear second choice? How many other street cars have downforce?

I would have to say that there is no "other choice" if you are looking to keep up with the Nissan R390 road car.

However, once you get out of that car's realm there are several cars that make great competition for each other.

The most fun I have had in this so far was seeing how close the match up between the Z-tune Z and the RGT could be.
That comparison could also use the touch of a Zonda.

Those three cars are all great for this track.
Still nothing compared to the R390 in the overall, but fun to drive none the less.

However, all of the above commentary takes a back seat to the over-whelming feeling of frustration I am getting from seeing this turn into a one car race. :indiff:

Either I will have to designate one car races in the future or I will have to start spending more and more time getting multi-car races set up.

Personally, I would like to see more use of the quick tune options in this game.
My 6 laps of Le Man spot race was a well designed race (to some extent).
Regardless of what some people may think of the specifics, the cars availible are all pretty evenly matched.
800hp/900kg... that was the mark to meet on the 6 lap spot.
It worked really well. 👍

Any way,
Enough of my ranting.
Sorry about that.

New splits. Nissan R390, Div 3;

t1- 30.603

I can't find the link but I'm pretty sure you have to have 100 posts before you can customize your avatar.

I know that I shouldn't have replied w/o hard facts but I wanted to get to post #33 :sly:

LOOK@ME LOOK@ME!!! I have an avatar now! Sweet!

wow, it's nice to meet the fans. If you want to be cool like us, then go and get ur pic taken in a f1 car and put it as your avatar. I call it silent bragging, you know im better than all of you. j/k

Where can I get the R390?

EDIT: 1,000,000cr? **** that. Damn, IO was hoping to have somewhat of a chance this week, but it's not worth 1,000,000.... Maybe I should do some B-Spec...

Made some small improvements. Really having trouble finding a braking point for the double-apex before T1, but getting T2 down a little better.

T1: 29.874
T2: 1'05.774

ugh! im rly gonna suck this week, i cant be bothered to get the all so popular r390 road car and I still need to get used to my wheel! *runs up to room with steering wheel and practicing*

mkay
It's going well for me here with the R390 GT1

T1: 30.288
T2: 1:06.676

Division 3 :P

Drugs are bad, mkay?

Hey, regarding your :^P, based on your stratospheric time at Suzuka that was erased, and your admirable early split times, I've gotta think that you definitely are misclassed.

Since you're getting a replay device so you can verify your odds on Div 3 win this week, I'm sure we'll be seeing you in Div 2 if not Div 1 really soon! Right? :^)

Drive on...

Here's what I've got so far...not the best, there's still lots of time to be had out there.

T1: 30.499
T2: 1:07.166

Still in the R390

T1 - 0'30.574
T2 - 1'07.596

And that 🤬 son of a hill... makes me want to pump 'Jump! Jump!' in my stereo while my car is slamming into the wall, ehhe.

In that case I'll have to use the picture of me in Schumacher's '01 F1 car when I open up the ability for an avatar. ;) (Or any of the other pics of me in Ferrari's, McLarens, and JGTC cars) :)

Sorry for the eariler mixup Kolyana, fordgt150 is my teammate for the German DTM Series.

Next time we try something like this it might be advisable to also put a limit on car price. This way we know everyone could afford all the options and make it more even. Just a suggestion...

T1 - :30.279
T2 - 1:06.987

Well lets see here I gained some T1 time, then lost some T2 time and then gained some at the end.
HHHmm....

Seems like everyone is tight on T1 but the gap happens with T2. Im guessing the t2-t3 times wont be that scattered.
But for you sub 1:05 T2'ers. What is the ticket? I just cant see where three seconds goes (MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION!!) Im guessing that its the hairpin and the subsequent double left apex.

Any tips? Other than what we've read already?

FYI

R390
T1: 30.337
T2: 1:07.701

<walks back to garage scratching head>

Some times with a NOT R390!!!

T1 30.9
T2 1.09

There is at least another .5 second in the first Split, I ran really wide into that first hairpin. The car can take the kink before it flat but then is pretty crossed up and you've got no hope of stopping at the right spot. And another 1 second on T2, I crossed it up down the hill after the tunnel pretty majorly.

I may reveal my car at a later date...

Good T2 time for a non-R390. :)

I was just wondering what line you guys were using for the first hairpin, the one right after the kink?

I find that I have so much speed coming out of the kink, I do not have time to get across to the outer line to take the corner geometically correct. Maybe it's better to brake for the kink, and get a good line for the corner? (Which I fell I'm losing heaps of time on my ghost..)

Or take the kink as fast as possible and take a really late apex? (I find I run way, way, to deep into the corner this way and lose any speed I gain from a 'flat-kink')

I'm sure there is heaps of time to be made on this corner, when I come out of it usually around the 14-15 second mark. I'm sure you could cut a second out of that.

Any ideas?
