I bought and then took first with a completely standard Tesla 3.

I then sold it because Tesla.
I’m of the same mind. Once I got well ahead of the pack, I found the narrowest part of the track and then preceded in an attempt to block the circuit….in protest of Elon and his antics.

I was insulted….INSULTED I tell you, when no one else decided to participate in my IG virtue signaling - and I was promptly rammed off and driven around by the other drivers. I guess the jokes on me 🙄

I noticed something very strange I just completed the Tesla race at Tokyo and I'm sitting and looking at the $200,000 credit ticket and I hear the engine pinging from the Heat now I didn't know that Tesla's made this sound I know normal cars do, interesting bug...

It depends how you treat to it.
I see it as a griding opportunity, so i deal with it " clear it " and go.
So i choose " easy " cars for lazy grinding, challenges in one hour race isn't the best idea.

I haven't done this ever before one month ( only at a friend ps4 once last year ) and did it 3 times to help a guy that was asking for it.
Your 908HDi setup for LeMans worked well for this race, just boosted power to get up to the 800pp limit, the suspension is top

I don't know about X19 fuel range really since i never use it except few cases.
Buggati on FM4 pull out 13 laps .
I use RH tyres and intermediate only.
Lap times on dry 2.15-16 average.

What i know for sure is DON'T rush to change rain tyres while track starts drying out.
Rain can hit again any time soon , so better slower than piting again and again.
Thank you for the tip on the bugatti. It was an absolute joy to drive, especially on the uphill chicane after the front stretch as it just stuck. Same with the back stretch before the hairpin going into the pits, full power all the way through both of them. I certainly like the sound of it better than the rbx19.

I got rain all night., lap 7 to 12. ended up lapping everyone. I relaxed and raced casually the second half of the race. Time to second place was usually dashed out. Sadly on the last lap, I got dive bombed by the second place car that was a lap down. i didnt know they were there. It likely cost me my clean race bonus. I wish there was an indicator for it so we know when we are eligible and not as it would often change my driving style.

Now back to grinding sardegna. I will likely try the bugatti there and see how it compares to the RB x2019. At least there I know ill get the clean race bonus. So far I like it better than spa as an hour long race just feels tiring compared to two 30 minute races.

Race 1 at Brands Hatch was won with my 72hp mini

Race 2 at Tokyo was won with a bone stock Model 3

Race 3 was easily won with a far overpowered Corolla Morizo edition

Race 4 was a 3rd place with the Toyota Supra GT500 (need to use cars that also work in my other account)

And I haven’t done race 5 at Spa yet, but I will either do it with the Gr.3 Corvette or the Mazda LM55 (have both of these cars on my other account)

Nice choice of races this week with the Neo-Classic and the 1 hour endurance.

1) Brands in the Lambo Veneno because why not... it was the first miles I've put on it.

2) Tesla race, bought one, put some big brakes and RS tires on it. Done. The amount of times I tried to downshift this car during braking is embarrassing.

3) GTR street car.

4) CLK in fuel saving mode. Came in P2 because I got PIT maneuvered by the AI & lost ~10 seconds.

5) Used the TS030 recommended by @Pesselles. Didn't previously own it so it gave me an excuse to buy a new car. Ran FM6 and good gravy this thing is slow on FM6. Regardless, was P1 managing fuel to the end when it started to rain with like 15mins to go. So I pit for IMs, and even though I had enough fuel to the end, put some gas in it so I could run FM1 and push. Finished in P1 easy on the IMs; in fact, I sat short of the finish line for 30 seconds so time could expire and I wouldn't need to do another lap. CRB for 1.5mil.

Got a 6* and the VW IDR thing that I already owned, so sold it for ~860k.

Not a bad payday all in all.

Am happy you like it .
It's the definition for lazy man's griding that Bugatti , don't hide surprises, no snap rear end , excellent brakes and rides smoothly.

Leaving home for a short holiday week on saturday morning, I may have to take the PS5 with me otherwise I won't be able to complete this weekly challenge (1 hour at Spa with remote play does not seem a good idea) and I won't have time before saturday morning (currently finishing some work projects now, that I don't want to take with me on holiday).

Exactly and spot on points. I love the brakes and how its stable under braking, plenty of power even at fm6 to cruise around. I love the deep throaty sound of it too vs the high pitch whine of the RB. Even in the rain it did well.

I still dunno what caused me not to get the clean race bonus. Maybe the dive bombing by the lapped car on the last lap, maybe something else. I might try it again just to see if I could do it.

though tbh if the clean race bonus is only 500k for a total payout of 1.5 million at spa, id be better off making 740k twice at sedgena and it doesnt feel as tiring.

Spa race, using the Mazda 787B '91. 1st attempt failed miserably due to wrong try choice who it stopped raining just after dusk, as it started to rain for the 2nd time. 2nd attempt amazingly it did not rain at all, lapped every car with 1 stop strategy, result plus clean race bonus. Yes the weather seems to be a lottery.

Neo-Classic is unbelievably easy if it rains, AI up to the usual tricks of driving around on slicks on a flooded track, won by a lap in an engine swapped R32. WTC 800 at Spa was fun, didn't get any rain so it was easy going. Ended up 2 laps ahead using the McLaren Ultimate VGT Gr.1 at 800PP, car is easy to drive and only requires 1 stop even on fuel map 1.

I used these cars for this week's challenges.

The first three races were straight forward. However, the Abarth was a bit too slow to grab P1 on the stock tires.

The Porsche 962, tuned down to the PP requirements for the Neo Classic race was a bit underwhelming. Perhaps I just tuned it poorly, but I only managed P3 there.

This was also my first time running the Spa 1 hour race. First attempt, I started on RS tires but when I thought rain was coming, I pit for IM's and then the rain skirted the track. I quit out after about 15 mins to restart. 2nd attempt I'd start on the RH tires and go on to win after good luck with the rain this time, 43 seconds was the gap to P2.
I'm surprised about the 962 that a great car even at 700 pp. I rarely do that but it is one of my favorites at Sardegna Good tire life and fuel usage

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I just tuned the power down too low to get to the PP requirement. I had already won this race before with the CLK-LM for the extra menu. The rain really helps reel in the top of the field, but I didn't have any today with the 962.

The Tesla race nearly put me to sleep. It's like being forced to drive your uncle's daily commute to the grocery store.

I felt bad for using Nissan R92CP at Neo-Classic at the Red Bull Ring. But then I notice the other R92CP started out at 1st position, then I no longer feel bad. LoL Using this Nissan is nearly cheating for this race.

I won that 1hr Spa race easily with an LM55 before. I am trying to win that race again with a Gr.3 GT-R now. Using the GT3 car is a lot more fun and challenging as the race intended to be.

I don't know what the rest of you are doing, and what difficulty you all have it on (I run hardest difficulty and ABS weak only), but this Neo-classic race is just as much b******* as it was the first time around.

Started with the CLK-GTR, and WOW, what an amazing car! This is my first time driving it and it's so agile yet planted, sounds great, and is quick, BUT... (rant incoming)

I got a dry race to begin with and was still TWENTY seconds behind the Silk-Cut Jaguar with a no-stop strat. The best I could do was 4th, and I'm not a slow driver (first place is usually no issue using low PP cars). This makes no sense!

Then went to the Jag, and the pre-race radar said NO RAIN... but wouldn't you know it, heavy rain a few laps in. Is the pre-race radar just broken now?! Then, despite running similar but slower lap times than the CLK, I pull out a 3rd because of the AI's stupid pit "strategy".

This race sucks. RBR sucks. GT's race building is just broken sometimes, and this is one where I'm not going back for first again because... it SUCKS!

Video's will be posted as soon as YT sorts them out. Looking forward to SpA later tonight.

Also: the Tesla race was good fun, and I was able to clean race it on the second attempt. I don't know what y'all are smoking, but the Model 3 is super fun, tossable, and capable. I seriously think that Elon hate (I don't like him either) is seriously swaying opinions on this one.

RBR sucks. What a terrible track. I'm sure in reality it's a super fun place to drive but in this game it absolutely blows.

Some of Gran Turismo is (for me) the best video game experience I could ask for. Some of it is such a monumental waste of time. Anything at Red Bull Ring fits squarely in the latter category.

Is it a coincidence the ones disappointed at Tesla all won the Neo-Classic race easily? And you, the one who enjoy the Tesla race, have a hard time with the relatively easy race even at the hardest setting? That race isn't hard at all. If you're as fast as you said, it shouldn't be a problem...

I am, in fact, very impressed at Elon's work who is many millions more successful than my entire career, but his cars are down right uninspiring... Cool and fast cars, yes. But as race cars... I would need more coffee on this one.

and I’ll do it “properly” - none of these detuned Gr1/Gr2 shenanigans.
whos to say what "properly" is for someone else? Certainly not you or anyone else. No need to be a snob and infer someone is doing something improperly. If they are having fun and enjoying the game thats all that matters.

Unless you are hosting a race, your claims of "properly" are moot and sound flat out snobbish.

My rides:
  1. Sunday Cup Classic - Citroen DS
  2. Special Event - Obvious
  3. Japanese 4Wd Challenge 600 - Mitsubishi Evo TME
  4. Neoclassical Challenge - Sauber C9
  5. WTC800 - Peugeot RCZ Gr 3

Did the NEO in the F1 GTR, BMW power made that a semi easy win, dry all the way, one stop and took 1st place at the second last corner..

Now the SPA race, I could pull out the CLK and do like i did the times i earned millions on this track, or go with an actual GT3 car, so i did a test with my Viper, oooohhhkkaaaay, that was a hard choice, with default setup i need hard tires and fuel every 5 laps.. Did a test with the AUDI DTM, and that car eats the field, i just didn't bring wet tires, because test, so i am gonna buy those and go for the win.
Let us know how it goes with the R5. Right now, that has been my go-to for WTC800's.

I don't really trust the pre race radar at all. I also used the CLK (stock engine power, no turbo, default downforce and racing hards) and had a comfortable margin from the Group C cars.

First, I glance at the fuel map and mentally register how many laps I can do before I pit. Next, I switched the MFD to the weather radar and pit in once I see precipitation and/or the wet surface meter builds up. Once I pit, I switch to Intermediates and soldier on to the goal.

The AI can get haywire when the surface is wet especially that they are still riding on slicks when the rain falls, and they will crawl until they reach the pit lane. I just stay calm when the AI overtakes me when I do pit stops on the rain because that mistake will cost them.

The coincidence is just that… coincidence.

I enjoy road cars more than race cars usually, as looseness, pliability, and car control are what I find most fun in cars. That’s not to say that I don’t also value race cars and maximizing their abilities, and I’m a competitive driver by the numbers. The Tesla race and me enjoying a car with AWD, tons of torque, good dynamics and a gear-less drivetrain is just an example of me enjoying good cars.

I have plenty of seat time in a Model 3 LR, and spent a week on CA backroads with a Model 3 performance, and they’re simply fun cars. They have good balance, AWD, the ability to power oversteer, quick steering, and they’re always in the powerband. I don’t think most of the people critiquing them have driven them in real life, nor are able to have fun with what is an objectively fast car in the game. I don’t put a lot of weight on their words, I just find the excessive clowning of the 3 kinda excessive and wrong.

I also own a 550hp Audi S6, an FD RX7 and have a long history of track days, drift days, and spirited driving in all manner of car, so I think I have a little experience to inform my opinions.

I don’t know what it is that’s slowing me down at RBR in the neo race, and it might just be that I’m slow in this instance, but I’m routinely not slow, so there might be something I’m missing.

In the case of your race, you have every aid on, so our experiences are nothing alike. I would suggest turning them off and doing the race again to see if you are able to achieve the same result.

I didn't realize the race at Spa was the 1 hr race. The 1st 4 races went by very quickly. I actually enjoyed the Tesla race but I did max it out. the one thing I don't like about the car besides being electric and looking awful is that the top speed is limited to 155mph. I also used it for the Brands Hatch race. I used GTR'17 for the Japan race and my trusty 787b for the Neoclassical race. I might use it for Spa but right now I not really sure what car I want to use.
I highly recommend the 787B for the Spa race. I used Praiano's latest tune and lapped 2nd place twice. Of course, that was on normal difficulty, but I reckon I could easily win it on hard difficulty.

For those having difficulty with the Neoclassical race, that Praiano 787B tune is mighty quick. Again on normal difficulty, I had caught the leader by lap 5, and still had the fuel and tires to do a no-stop race had it not rained.

As for the other cars I used, on the Plus account, the Praiano-tuned Mazda 787B for the Neoclassical and WTC 800, a stock Nissan R32 GT-R NISMO for a laugher of a Sunday Cup Classic and a hard-fought Japanese 4WD Challenge, and a stock Tesla for ultimately an unclean win at Tokyo after too many restarts. On the GTP account, it was a stock Audi R8 LMS Evo at Spa (for a multiple-restart hard-fought win), an older tune on a Porsche 962 C (that degenerated down to under 760 PP) at Red Bull Ring, a stock Tesla for ultimately a clean win at Tokyo (again, after too many restarts chasing the CRB), a stock Toyota GR Corolla for an easy win at Kyoto, and a stock older Alfa Romeo Giulia at Brands Hatch after seeing a pair in the lineup.

Nice. Ive heard its a good car. Do you recall how much it was? Ill likely be grinding the credits to have on hand for when it comes out.

Im in a heavy grind for the mclarren f1 atm. Im halfway there so another 5 hours to go.

Not suprised to hear the TS030 is a beast in this game. It was my go to for longer races in GT6 as it sipped fuel, conserved it's tires well and the game only counted the engine for pp so would often run rings around the AI.

Sadly I don't have it yet in GT7 so not sure what I want to use for the spa race. I do have the LM55 VGT but at 925 don't think i can get it under 800, also thinking about the 787B as I see a few of you recommending it with a specific tune but not sure about FM/tire strat for it and finally what are people's thoughts on the 962 or the XJR9. Pretty sure I have both and haven't seen much said about them so not sure if it's worth trying to detune to 800 and run the race.
