Well the Spa Event was an excuse to finally improve my best place finish of 20th.

Managed 1st with the Gr.2 GT-R and a stop for Inters when the rain came, and a splash and dash 2 laps from the end. Spent quite a bit of time at FM6 during the rain but I think a 1 stopper would have been fine with a bit more fuel saving. Jabbed the brakes just before the line realising that the timer was about to expire and I didn't fancy like doing a 25th lap, 1:00:00.526... close!

CRB intact so 1,500,000 Cr. for that, plus the mill from the bonus ticket. Aiming to get that XJ13 on this rotation, with the 1m Cr. from the TT, that's nearly 4m towards it today.

I think because in the 50 the electric will be deplenish, so then you are ar a disadvantage, whereas the 30, combustion only, its power wont fall...
I used the ts050 for the spa 1 hour and won by 2 laps its a P1 car so it shouldn't have any problem dealing with those pesky gr3 cars plus (imho) it has better handling then the ts030.

Will use my new 14 million BMW F1 1997 Gr.2 car on the Spa race. Normally it's a race for Gr.3 cars and still easy to win but at the moment i have little time and don't like any surprises on that long race.
Let us know how it goes please. I'm grinding for the 14 mill credits atm so the more feedback on the car the better.

The only surprise in this race is the weather if you're not calculate it right .

Also the most " relaxing " cars for it are Bugatti VGT gr1 plus Mazda LM55 gr1.

I use Bugatti today FM4 for 13 laps but enter for intermediate tyres on 12.
Rain stops after 2 laps and finished the race with intermediates at FM6 for the rest 11 laps and FM4 the last two with fuel remaining still for 2.2 laps.
Also i skip 26 lap waiting at start .

Thank you. Did you have to take on fuel with the bugatti? Hows that compare to the rb x2019?

Im trying it now in my RB X2019 and on lap 6 but its getting closer to dusk.

Edit i restarted it after i was trying to look at the weather radar and ran off the track. was early enough in that I opted to exit out to try to come back for the cr bonus.

I don't know about X19 fuel range really since i never use it except few cases.
Buggati on FM4 pull out 13 laps .
I use RH tyres and intermediate only.
Lap times on dry 2.15-16 average.

What i know for sure is DON'T rush to change rain tyres while track starts drying out.
Rain can hit again any time soon , so better slower than piting again and again.

I get the idea that between last week's featuring of the WTC 800 round at the Nurburgring Endurance layout, and this week having the WTC 800 round at Spa-Francorchamps, the Weekly Challenges are a great way to continue working on the percentage of events you've completed, as those two WTC 800 rounds were ones I hadn't completed yet.

That said, I don't feel too bad about not doing every single one, as it's not like you can see how many have been done by other players. This is in contrast to say, getting a silver in an Online Time Trial, or achieving relatively good standings in a season of the Nations Cup. Plus, I'll soon be gone for a bit, so I feel that if I wanted to get all of this week's challenges done, I'd have to do so today. My best finish for the Model III one-make is 2nd using Sport Hards, so I'll see if I can do better on Sport Mediums - otherwise, I'm not planning to tune the car at all. As for the WTC 800 round, I plan to use my trusty Corvette Gr.3, and then for the Neo-Classics, perhaps I'll go for using the Mercedes-Benz CLK-LM that I had laying around, especially since it's limited to 800PP.

Thanks. I have the bugatti VGT (sadly not the gr.1) and really enjoy how it drives. Plus it looks sharp.

So you you didnt need to take on fuel when you changed tires in the bugatti? Just managed your fuel settings?

1. Sunday Cup at Brand Hatch. First attempt with the Jeep (because it's fun) but finished 4th. Restart with the Mini '65 and finished 1st with the CRB.

2. Tesla 3 challenge at Tokyo. 1st with the CRB.

3. Japan cars at Kyoto. Used the Silvia and finished 1st with the CRB.

4. Neoclassic on the Red Bull Ring. Used the CLK-GTR and finished 1st with the CRB.

5. WTC 800 1 hour at Spa. Used the Toyota TS030, 1 pit for inter tyres (lap 18) and finished 1st - 3 laps ahead - with the CRB.

No you must take fuel but at FM4 can do 13 laps , if rain hit before that you must pit again .
Also VGT gr1 is better for this.

Just take care of the weather and what's coming , don't worry about anything else , the car is fast , has huge grip and brakes and it 4 wheel drive.

Can someone explain the clean race demands in GT7… Did the 1h race, bumped into the other cars 3 times pretty hard and went off track at least twice or 3 time… and still got the bonus… on the other hand, doing the 12 lap 600 Tokyo race, any time I’m sure the race was clean I don’t get the bonus?!

The CRB is variable, it will change its rules according to the specific race and track. For example the WTC700 at Le Mans (30 minutes) you will get the CRB unless you violate the Yellow Flag rule and get the 3 second penalty. You can hit other AI cars, go way off track and get track limit violations and still get the CRB.
But at WTC600 Tokyo, you cannot hit any car and do not go past the white boundary line at last hairpin turn (Docks / cargoboxes) and you will get the CRB.
it changes from track to track.

I didn't realize the race at Spa was the 1 hr race. The 1st 4 races went by very quickly. I actually enjoyed the Tesla race but I did max it out. the one thing I don't like about the car besides being electric and looking awful is that the top speed is limited to 155mph. I also used it for the Brands Hatch race. I used GTR'17 for the Japan race and my trusty 787b for the Neoclassical race. I might use it for Spa but right now I not really sure what car I want to use.

Looks like I'm doing the 1 hour race at Spa for the 1st time ever.

Still can't decide what car to use. Will probably try that one on the weekend.
Any Gr3 car will do if you manage your tire strategy well. Start on mediums and change to IMs or full wets when the rain starts around lap 7. Extend the life of your rain tires when the track dries out by keeping them cool by driving over wet areas on the straights. Around lap 17 it usually rains again. This is where you win or lose the race. Try to avoid multiple pits to change tires.
If you get it wrong you can retry the race and conditions will be the same, so you know when to pit.
Good luck!

Speaking about Spa WTC 800, here is my best advice.
Bonjour Pesselles!

Very useful advice as it worked perfectly for me! I drove very cautiously as I had two big storms to navigate but the IM tires worked great even with a bit of wear on them during the second monsoon! I thought I screwed up when I took a penalty while exiting the pit on my only stop but the CRB was awarded at the end of the race. Thanks again!

It depends how you treat to it.
I see it as a griding opportunity, so i deal with it " clear it " and go.
So i choose " easy " cars for lazy grinding, challenges in one hour race isn't the best idea.

I haven't done this ever before one month ( only at a friend ps4 once last year ) and did it 3 times to help a guy that was asking for it.

Bonjour Bass Addict :)

Yeah, glad to be helpful to friendly players!
The TS030 is a fantastic machine, no matter the circuit, the weather, etc. it's perfect for grinding any WTC 800 races.
By the way, you can drive it on the Nordschleife (WTC 800 3 laps), you'll be amazed too ^^.

Enjoy your CRB, mate

The R92CP kills the 800 event when set up properly.
The r92cp engine in my awd skyline works wonders I was able to squeeze a few 1.23. lap times out of it.. I actually tried it with like ten different max tuned road cars and they all had a tough time with it other skyline with the stock motor was turning 1.25... even my 1200 hp miata and Silvia couldn't top 3 and those are usually my go to's for easy wins

I used these cars for this week's challenges.

The first three races were straight forward. However, the Abarth was a bit too slow to grab P1 on the stock tires.

The Porsche 962, tuned down to the PP requirements for the Neo Classic race was a bit underwhelming. Perhaps I just tuned it poorly, but I only managed P3 there.

This was also my first time running the Spa 1 hour race. First attempt, I started on RS tires but when I thought rain was coming, I pit for IM's and then the rain skirted the track. I quit out after about 15 mins to restart. 2nd attempt I'd start on the RH tires and go on to win after good luck with the rain this time, 43 seconds was the gap to P2.

More likely to get no CRB by crossing a white line like at hairpin at Tokyo than hitting cars or barriers.

So here's my selection of cars for this week's challenges :

Gran Turismo™ 7_20231228170544.jpg
Someday I'll get me the Copen IRL ... I simply love that sweet little bugger.

Gran Turismo™ 7_20231228180414.jpg
The "unavoidable" ... bought the car, raced the car, sold the car again.

Gran Turismo™ 7_20231228171441.jpg
My absolute go-to car ... when it comes to Japanese 4WD vehicles at 600 PP.

Gran Turismo™ 7_20231228152129.jpg
A safe win for me ... simply hopped in, didn't even change the Sardegna setup.

Gran Turismo™ 7_20231228131922.jpg
Hadn't driven the Audi before ... found it to be a great car, and so was the 800 PP Praiano setup.

Looking forward to next week's races now. :D

Here are some of my results from last weeks weekly races. Christmas travel, work, school and life doesn't leave a lot of extra time for GT7 fun, but I did take part of a day last week to run, and have some time off this week to take on the new batch of races. Didn't record the race at BB (just used a Prius and walked away with a sleepy win) or the Rallycross run (boring bashing and nonsense traction physics) as they were pretty boring.

For the Euro 500 at Brands Hatch I used the Mercedes EVO at first. I've been wanting an excuse to toss this thing around, and it doesn't disappoint. Such a fun car, very balanced if not favoring oversteer a little (which is my preference), and is such an awesome looking and iconic car. Loved every minute driving it, but it just didn't have the beans to catch up with the A45 AMG after several attempts.

Re-ran the same race with a stock Pantera. This one is a little special as it is a near perfect replica of my uncles real-life car... unfortunately, it is pretty boring to drive in game. The last time I drove it was a looong time ago and it was an oversteery monster, but after several handling updates it has been neutered into understeer, the steering ratio is slooow, and it just generally isn't very fun to drive at all. Still had the power to take first, but the Mercedes EVO was much more fun.

Next up was Civics at Watkins Glen. Good race, but nothing much to write home about. As has been said, the AI is very slow through the bus-stop, and the essesses leading up to it, so this one was a fairly easy win. I lowered the power of my own Civic to add to the challenge which led to some decent battles... for a moment.

Finally we have the WTC 800 at the 'ring. I see a lot of people went with GR2/GR1 cars for this one, but I'm never one to outclass the competition as it leads to boring races without much challenge. I felt bad enough putting the mid-range turbo on the RCZ GR3 even though it was at fuel trim 6 the whole time and it was still well under 800PP at full power.

Went off all by myself at the mini-carousel on lap one, battled with blind and aggressive AI that ruined several previous attempts (just bashing me off track despite me giving them room), had a decent run with 5 AI on lap 2 (even though it was just me being slowed down waiting for chances to lunge on them), and ultimately passed most of them when they pitted. Stayed in trim 6 and no stopped this one. Drove pretty conservatively on the last lap to preserve tires and fuel, and came out with a satisfying win.

Now off to this weeks challenges. Looking forward to all but one of them. I pretty much hate RBR, and it's close to my least favorite track, but the rest of them should be fun. I also love the Tesla, which some people seem to disagree with, but how can you hate something so quick that loves to 4-wheel drift out of every corner? They're super fun in game and IRL (had a model 3 Performance for a week an loved every minute of it), and a weapon in game.

Happy driving everyone! Go get that money!

The weather at Spa is an absolute lottery it seems. The first time I did this event months ago, I'm positive it didn't rain that much.Today was the 2nd time doing that race. I restarted a couple of times because I wanted to get the CRB for it especially since it's a 1hr long race. My car of choice was the RS5 Gr2 detune to 800. Great car for that race IMO. On FM6 it can do well over 13 laps. On my first go, I forgot to buy Inters and Wet tires and right around the 30 minutes mark it started raining. So I had to abort and start again. On the next go around it started raining at the 43 minute mark which I think was lap 8 til lap 14 and then again at 18 to 23...from lap 8 until the end I was on full wet tires because the rain was heavy whenever it rained. I'm glad I didn't go back into the pits when I noticed the track drying out..the AI did and they paid the price lol crawling back to the pits when I only pitted once.
