I'm not eager for Eiger, but I enjoy its fast corners.

Still working on the Barcelona race. Thought to use the RB25, but I used that last time at Autopolis. '08 NSX will be the choice as I haven't driven that in a looooong time.

Pick-ups. Willow Springs. Roulette tickets. Meh.

Let's get this over with.
It is all done and out of the way (normal difficulty).

weekly-challenge-202408w5-r1.jpg

Willow Springs - Ford F-150 SVT Raptor '11 - Not a big fan of pick-ups or Willow Springs, but the nighttime setting made this race slightly more interesting than I expected. My truck was pretty heavily modified, so this was an easy win, despite one excursion into the desert sands. First ticket obtained.

weekly-challenge-202408w5-r2.jpg

Suzuka - Jaguar F-type R '14 - I put SS tires on the car, but left it stock otherwise. Not much to say about this race. I worked my way up the field for an easy win.

weekly-challenge-202408w5-r3.jpg

Eiger Nordwand - Alpine A110 '17 - The car was already on SS tires from the last time I drove it. I don't know if I've made any other changes, but I don't think so. As far as the race goes, I made a few mistakes and finished in P3, about 3 seconds back from the winner. Good enough for the second ticket.

weekly-challenge-202408w5-r4.jpg

Nordschleife - Ferrari 512 BB '76 - I put SM tires on for this race. SS tires put me over the PP limit. No other modifications. I worked my way up the field and got by the lead car in the final corners for the win.

weekly-challenge-202408w5-r5.jpg

Catalunya - Ford Mustang Gr.3 - I ran this on RM tires. Pitted on Lap 4 for fuel and fresh tires. I win was definitely within reach, but thanks to a few errors -- including an incident with AI Tidgney -- all I could wring out of this was a P2. Still, that was enough for the final ticket.

The roulette ticket gave me a Nissan VGT, which I already owned. I sold it for 564,000 credits.

... to make short work of the WCs this time ...
That took 44:30 min roughly plus loading times plus a cup of coffee in between. :D

Best races are Eiger and Suzuka imo. As @Fuzzi0n mentioned above the Euro Clubman event is surprisingly fast. Gallo didn't play a role this time but Beauvois was a bit of a challenge.

Got a nice prize too for 45 min of working :

So ... up up and away to license test B-3.

No Autopolis 😎😎😎😎 I'm pretty sure I dreamed last night that Autopolis was up again and I went on a rant on here....

I'm one happy Nazzy 😂😂!!!
Please, give me Autopolis back instead of Eiger Reverse.
That Catalunia 800 race was fun with the 911 GT1. I would do it a lot more if payout was better...
How was the fuel mileage? I'm trying to find more "WTC 800" cars especially for Sardegna.
I thought I tried the 911 GT1 on a different WTC 800 race and the fuel economy was atrocious...like 3 laps to a tank on a 10 lap race.

Being force fed Eiger is making it hard to actually try to like this track....

Because of bug in GT7 freezing during rendering race photos, I regretfully decline posting pics this week.

Wow, that might be up there for the worst set of Weeklys yet.

Trucks at Willow? As if they couldn't make this track any less fun. At least let us put dirts on them and Dakar it the best we can.

Eiger is slowly becoming my least favorite track. And just when you think a layout can't get worse, PD be like hold my sake and do it backwards.... again.

Speaking of again... Suzuka? Really? Was Daily B two weeks ago, is the current TT and daily C, so let's make it one of the weekly races too!

Nord was okay.

These Gt3 800pp races have gotten so stale. 10 lap race, start in last... get passed all the AI towards the end of lap five. Pit for tires and fuel but then have to fight all the AI again because why pit on lap five or a 10 lap race when you can pit on lap eight or nine? I don't think I got to drive the racing line two turns in a row for most of that race.

At least the 6* didn't give me the DeLorean again. But, I got the 500k which was the lowest prize on the wheel. My 4* marathon gave me an invite I don't care about.

For the WTC events I tend to use a car from the class above detuned to match. For the Suzuka race this week I used the group 2 Nissan GTR GT500, detuned to 698 PP, RM tyres, started on FM 5 but after a lap or two I had excess fuel so went to Fm 4. Got to the lead on lap 5, the rest of the cars then started pitting, I didn't pit at all and was able to turn up the fuel again in the last few laps, won by over a minute, laps in the 1:46-48 range which should be easy if I can do it!.

I do the same thing for the Lemans600 race, since the update I use the group 3 BMW Z4, RM tyres, straight to FM 6, pit end of lap 4, FM 4 on outlap, 3 for lap 6 and FM 1 for last lap. You may get rain as early as lap 2, thats fine, just take intermediae tyres and make it your only stop - you'll need to do a little lift and coast if you stop on lap 2 but no need to stop again.

The real challenge this week was to endure the boredom in 3 out of 5 races.

  • Viper Gr3 (Catalunya WTC800)
  • Toyota Tundra (Trucks at Willows)
  • Alpine (Special at Eiger)
  • VW'66 engine swapped (Suzuka - P2 and Nordschleife)

I could've won at Suzuka but I messed up the last chicane in the last lap, so it was a P2. Enough to complete the set.

The 6 stars ticket gave me 500k for my trouble, but I wish I had won the Porsche Spider 918 I saw in the roulette.

From the mountaintop that was last week’s WC to the absolute bottom of the Grand Canyon for this week’s WC.

-Truck Event at Willow, I grabbed my swapped Raptor to just get it over with.
-Euro CC at Suzuka meant pulling out my replica 964 Carrera Cup and won by over 5 seconds.
-Alpine Special Event, I pulled out a stock A110 I had and it was actually a pretty good race considering how the track doesn’t flow at all.
-Historic at the Ring, I took my GT40 Mk1 and won comfortably after losing it big at Hatzenbach.
-WTC800 at Catalunya GP I brought my replica Viper GTS-R and brought another comfortable win. The fuel economy on road cars is ridiculous compared to the race cars. I don’t understand it.

Done and dusted. I probably won’t do any of them again.

This week was ok. Nothing to write home about.
Nordschleife in my Boss on SS and detuned. a bit sketchy in spots but won by 7 ticks:

Barcelona in the 787.Again this used to be a race for my RS5 but with the update, nope. So just picked an easy one. No pits. Won by almost a minute:

Suzuka was fun in my outclassed M3 on SS. I had to keep Valerio away in his noisy Alfa. Seen here on the last lap. Kept him off the podium and I took third. I may revisit with a more potent car:

Ahhh Eiger Reverse. The land of bumper cars for me. Won it but it was ugly:

Note to self: Do a truck race on another day.lol That felt so weird after driving cars in the first four races. It felt like I was going slow but in reality I wasn't so a couple of "offs" due to misjudged speed. Took my modded Ford on RS. Easy win:

Got 500k with the spin.

I have discovered something at the Eiger, if you have a engine swapped A110 it is way OP for this small twisty track. I had a second A110 and have done minimal work with it like weight reduction, better tyres, small boost in engine hp and it handled better and I had better throttle response than with the Nissan engine swap.

Fun week for me. Picked by cars identified by letter/number combinations.

F150, 4C, A110, RX500, 2J.

Sold my 6 star ALPINE VGT FOR 726K.

Predicting a Neo-Classic event next week.

I can't help thinking, for races where there's no tyre wear, they should totally make turn 3 at Eiger Reverse a Wacky Races-type thing where you can take either route through. That's how it feels every time I approach that corner.
