The Alfa is still the meta. With the same weight/power ratio it's 1s faster on quarter mile than the bmw!
Fortunatly, you can beat the weekly challenge with others cars like the bmw or, more difficult, with the merc 190. I don't like the sierra hanling and the old volvo 240 is under powered to win.

2) Schwarzwald League @ Nurburgring Nordschleife

Always love to drive in the Green Hell! Rando sent me here with the 996 GT3, and since I had one that I randomly widened some time ago for apparently no reason I decided to give it the 700pp Praiano setup. It was based on RH tires, but around sector 3 it started to rain and the map showed dark blue clouds as well. So I quit the race, switched to inters, and had a wonderful dry race. Go figure. Car is wonderful to drive though, gonna bring it to LM for some money grind as well.

I hate to break it to you, but the 996 GT3 is too thirsty to be good at Le Mans 700. It can win on Easy, but you have to pit every other lap, even on FM6. There needs to be an engine swap from the 911 RSR for it pronto.

Thinking it would be appropriate given the presence of the Group 4 Alfa, and not feeling like spending the time tuning any of my cars, I tried the DTM race using the stock Group 4 AMG SLS. I didn't expect it to be quite so underpowered against these Touring Cars as I finished 13th!

Thankfully, it's a really engaging and fun contest and I'll be speccing-up a more appropriate car soon to repeat.

I discovered yesterday that you can also cheat a little and use the Audi RS5 DTM as well.

I give up. I don't get to grips with the M3 ... at all. I fiddled with suspension, diff and downforce - no matter what I do : the car stays too unstable ( under braking mainly ) for my driving skill / style. 🤷‍♂️ Respect to everyone achieving decent laps / races with the Beemer.

I briefly tried my M3 and I was slipping and sliding all over the place under braking. I gave up.

@ROCKET JOE and @2cam16 , have you tried with all aerodynamics parts, front and lateral spoiler and rear diffuser?
my M3 was very slippy under braking without these parts too. With it, I put the aero specs on 150 and 150 and the handling was better, but not quite good as the meta 4rm Alfa.

Yeah, I used this exact setup. Widebody car, wide rims, aero parts from GT Auto, RM tires !!! and everything. Had high hopes but the car was horrible in my hands.

I haven’t bothered doing the Weekly Challenges for the past several weeks due to how underwhelming the chosen races were, especially with how frequently Eiger kept coming up. But the DTM race for this week immediately caught my eye and is probably my favorite special event. Hope PD can keep giving us more like it.

Quite enjoyed the races this week - if anyone wants to try something from left field, I used the TVR Tuscan completely stock for the Brands Hatch race an ld had a blast. Don’t think I’ve drive one in game since GT4 (yes I’m old), but it’s a really fun drive!

Is a win even possible with the Volvo? The best I can manage is 1:30.xx with any kind of consistency, I'm usually a couple seconds off by the end. The m3 was pretty easy and I did manage a win with the 190 without turbocharging it.

Race 1 - Diablo GT '00 - put SS to get some grip. Won easily because car became user friendly (lot better than SH) and got 100k ticket.

Race 2 - RUF RGT 4.2 '16 - I was thinking some time what car to chose for Green Hell, and choice went to car I didn't drive before. Beautiful cocpit, nice driving, but little nasty due RR. I managed to win the race.

Race 3 - Aston Martin One-77 '11 - Again, great cocpit look and little nasty car - it's not easy without TC, that I'm not using in months... Got the 200k ticket.

I hope so that I will manage to finish two remaining races.

I completed all the challenges last night, I used my Porsche Spyder car in the Hyper Car Parade, I beat all the AI on Lap 3, easy peasy as usual. So I got my 500k reward very early, now I'll just have to sit and wait for the next batch of events. Until then folks...

Well the Special Events are almost always in batches of 3, spread out over the weeks, so you'll almost certainly get 2 more races like it.

Credit where credit is due to PD, this DTM event is incredible. I haven't really played for the past month or so but this really encouraged me to hop on and give it a go.

I tuned a 180SX to the exact specs of the 1994 Opel Calibra Touring Car and I was really surprised that it was immediately at the perfect pace - it felt like they genuinely balanced all of the cars to where they should be and so trying to match the real specs just gives you the perfect race. I really really hope we don't just see two more of these and then never see them again, it felt like some proper love went into this, moreso than even the JGTC events had.

I don't know if it's the current state of the physics or a controller issue or a combo of both, but the GTR event, I used the new T-Spec car, on SS tyres and it felt like the back end was a bucking bronco, on the brakes it was all over the place!

The DTM event, (if we ignore that these are the type of events that should be a championship in the game with the actual race cars not tuned road cars) I picked the M3 Sport Evo, it was absolutely horrible, on RS tyres tuned to the power and weight specs on the last page, there slightest hint of the brakes and the back end is all over the place. What the actual is going on. Why have an event where one car is completely useless. What's so wrong with the physics of the game that a car widely considered one of the best handling cars of its time is absolutely awful

I managed to win with M3 on RS tyres with ABS off. 190E (NA) was best to drive but M3 was also good. Sierra needs more tweaking but win is doable with little more power then those two. I need to try to win with Supra again, couldn't do it with RH and around 660PP.

Just hoping they’ll actually give us a proper Group A event at some stage. Posted this back in August.

I’d like to see what PD could do with Group A. All three cars from the Group A Collection(E30, RS 500, R32) are currently in the UCD. Add the MA70 Supra and we’re good to go.

I don’t care where the next race is, but I guess if we’ve got two more races to go, we’ll probably see Nurb 24 or Endurance layout and Red Bull Ring. However, races at Deep Forest, Trial Mountain and/or Laguna Seca would be a nice nostalgic touch.

The fact PD even put the JGTC and DTM events together shows they are giving what the players want. Now, the next will be to see if they do a proper Group C event. Leave the LMH cars out of it!

Okay, judging by the UCD, look like Lancer Evolution meeting is coming. That would be weird to see with a proper event already a mainstay. NA MX-5 is in the mix too.
Could do a Super Taikyu styled event from the late nineties(well, I could do one ).

Race 4 - GT-R '17 - First tried with 400R, but finished only 6th. Then I chose this fully upgraded monster, that I had to decrease power almost fully so I got eligible car. Finished 3rd because I don't know this track at all. Also don't like it.

Question is, how did you win DTM race?
I have fully upgraded my M3 and opponents are still lot faster...

I found cars between 650-700pp tend to be on point to take the lead on lap 9 or 10 on hard

I need to up my game, used a stock Alfa 155 and could only reach third place on hard difficulty, about 10 seconds behind in both my attempts. Might need to do some tuning…
But what a fun event it is! Love the liveries, and WHY aren’t these fun events permanent!?!?

I am still hoping PD will just drop all the special events in a big bundle in a future update. This game would benefit a LOT from having them all permanent. Will most likely never happen… 😢

Just to add so I don’t go off on a tangent. A main thing PD could do with the current World Circuit events are randomise the opponents like they do with the Weekly Challenges. At least it gives the illusion of uncertainty. We only have random weather, which still doesn’t change much of the outcome, but switching up cars throughout the field each time a players enters an event goes a long way from making an event stale.

The only way I could win with the Alfa 155 was to add the Med-RPM turbo. Otherwise it couldn't keep up...

@05XR8 I used one of your old tunes for the '89 M3 (Not Sport Evolution), but the car just gets rinsed on the straights. I've tried adding aero and a wide body but it still couldn't quite keep up.

Do you have an updated one? Or any tips to boost the power a little bit but not too much?

I wasn’t sure the Roadster TC would be included. Figured an NA race at Tsukuba. Really cool it’s at Suzuka. I think a Nations race(or Daily?) was there a while ago with the TC.

No updated E30 2.3L for that event. Just have to max out the E30 Evo( without Widebody, only front & rear aero and I used RH) and nearly hope for the AI to slow down the other cars at the back straight. Seriously. That’s how I got the win as seen from the video I posted.

We’ll see what circuit is used for the next DTM event.

I used one of the slightly older models and even that felt awful around that circuit on Sport Medium tyres. I don't recall it being this bad. There was a lot of weird bouncing at completely unpredictable times, and the car was mostly stock.
