Also wanted to use the LFA for the Maggiore race - for some reason that combination crashes my PS5. Tired it 3 times - had to use a different car in the end.

I got a late start on these this week. Knocked them all out this morning (normal difficulty).

Liking that it was all credit tickets this week and that I had plenty of undriven cars to choose from for all but the WTC 700 race.

weekly-challenge-202411w2-r1.jpg

Lago Maggiore - Toyota Crown Athlete G Safety Car - This car was over the suggested PP, so I just used it unmodified. I was in the lead by the end of the first lap. Easy win for the first ticket.

Dragon Trail - Gardens - BMW M4 Safety Car - Again, this car was over the suggested PP so I left it unmodified, making for an easy win.

Autopolis - Mazda Roadster Touring Car - I upgrade the tires to SS, but otherwise left the car stock. The AI wasn't that fast, but it was a challenge to get around them with all the weaving and they do. I didn't take the lead until the final lap, but once I had, it was an easy run to the win. Second ticket obtained.

Dragon Trail -Seaside - Ferrari 458 Italia '09 - I upgraded the tires to SS, as usual, but left the car otherwise unchanged. Again, it took a few laps to get by all the AI cars, but I did.

Brands Hatch - SLS AMG Gr.4 - I picked the AMG because it was my least recently driven Gr.4 cars. I did the race on RM tires. At first, I thought I might be able to fuel save for a no-pit strategy, but by the end of the first lap, it was looking like that wasn't going to be feasible. I pitted for fuel on lap 4 in the hope of leveraging rubber-banding to my advantage. I had to short-shift for the remainder of the race to make the fuel last to the end, but it didn't slow me down enough to be a problem. Easy win for the final ticket.

View attachment 1404178This Mazda race is quite fun with an under powered car.
Gave myself a challenge of 500pp limit and SM tyres, after a lot of tuning adjustments I finally got the win!

Since I like challenges on an otherwise boring afternoon I tried the same, thanks for teasing me !
There's no time to lose in this race that's for sure ...

It's been quite a stretch and a lot of fumbling with the settings but I got the same result finally and the same times.
What I found astonishing is that you obviously have an all different setup approach.
While hp numbers are the same more or less, your car is almost 90 kg heavier. What I did was sacrifice front DF, race transmission and race brake system to save PP.

Ok, one more attempt ! :D

Gave your challenge a try.

Hard - Difficulty
Gran Turismo® 7_20241110184700.jpg

I noticed that the AI is slow taking some of the turns Turns T4/T5/T6 and then again on T11 - T17 those are the best time to try a clean pass as the AI is super slow even on hard.

My setup.

Yay! Great challenge, @AlexWilmot Thanks for showing us a win is possible at 500pp.

Here go my results on hard difficulty.

500pp Roadster Challenge - Results.jpg

My tune has the rear diffuser, racing transmission, but standard brakes. My gears still need more optimizing. It's interesting seeing a bunch of different tuning strategies being viable.

Great runs, everyone!

Managed to fire through the first 4 races pretty smoothly. Only just unlocked Weekly Challenges last week after completing first set of Cafe Menus. Struggled with the final race and fuelling which led me to joining here. Thanks for posting your chosen cars. I now know what I am doing in this race. Should hopefully complete tonight now.

Managed to get Brands Hatch over the line. Ended up going for the F Type Gr.4 to assist. Easy 800k credits even though I spent 350k on the Jag.

P.s always great to have an event on Brands Hatch. One of my favourites.

I was yet again forced to complete the lovely gr.4 grid by PD with something missing in the game. Detuned my "Porsche CUP spec" 992 to fit 700pp with rh-tires (1260kg/423hp). Fit like a glove. Leaning fuelmap to manage 1 stop race made me just fast enough to catch the front at the end of lap 9. Might have caught a bit earlier had I remembered to use the DRS before lap 5. Without DRS it would have been even tighter. Fuel mapping was accurate to the point that I ran out of fuel some 50m before the checkered flag with half a straight distance ahead of 2nd and 3rd place. Like the race was designed for my makeshift gr.4 911. 👍

Well, looks like this week isn't happening for me. My G29 suddenly decided it won't connect to my PS5 anymore, no idea why. Worked fine until last week, now the green led blips, it works as a regular controller, but not as a wheel. Can't play until I figure out what happened. 🥲
Somehow managed to get it to work again! I'm super happy, so much that I did all challenges in one sitting 😁

1) Japanese FR 450 @ Maggiore East

Off to a not so good start, I tried the S-FR with my usual set of look-cool stuff which means GT Auto parts, exhaust and some basic suspension (which turned out to be Street this time around, since Sport lowered the car too much and it was bottoming out). Not enough, the leading S14 was too fast, only managed a P2. So I put a low pressure turbo and came back for revenge, except the Silvia wasn't there and was replaced by the new BRZ. Which was probably even tougher of an opponent, it was a really fun and well fought race all the way until the end, super fun! The S-FR shouldn't be allowed to be that mean.

2) European FR 550 @ Dragon Trail Gardens

Okay, so this was kind of a nasty combo and event. The Mondial 500 is a weird classic car and a weird Ferrari, sporting a 4-cyl Lampredi twincam engine that screams like a maniac with the high lift camshaft S, sooooo damn good! But the handling? Bad, even for a classic such as this, couldn't keep it straight and it was constantly bottoming out under braking. This one needs a tune, badly. Managed a P2 and that's enough, didn't want to drive this thing anymore in the current status.

3) Roadster NA Special @ Autopolis

Went into this one with the very same Roadster TC that I used for the Tsukuba mission in the Human Comedy, which meant 600-something PP. Destroyed everyone, it wasn't even a challenge, now the car itself has been swapped for 700pp purposes.

4) Ferrari Circuit Challenge @ Dragon Trail Seaside

Once again behind the wheel of a Ferrari in DT, this time however with twice the amount of cylinders. The 458 I used is stock, only on SS tires, but it owned the competition without too much trouble. What a beautiful car!

5) WTC 700 @ Brands Hatch GP

For the final event I was assigned by the Randomizer the F-Type Gr.4, which I hadn't been driving for a lot of time. A car that used to be among my favourite in the tier, gave it an updated setup (Praiano slightly modified) and took on the race. It still is one of my favourite cars, engine has so much torque it's ridiculous.

Ooooooh yeah! DTM at Spa! Now THAT looks like fun!! I'll definitely run that one numerous times with my various DTM builds.

Alfa 155, Merc 190 E, BMW E30 M3, Porsche 911 964, Porsche 959, Nissan GT-R R32... Found that the Ford Sierra Cosworth just isn't strong enough to compete, at least in my hands.

Also thinking I may create an S20-powered Silvia S13 to see how that fares.

Nagano's randomizer has spoken again - so be it :

Funny that I've run the American Clubman 700 at Mt. Panorama several times the past days with the Fugu, hunting that insane C8 which is running 355 km/h down Conrod. So if the Ford GT doesn't cut it, I have my plan Z at least. :D
