Got some close finishes this week. Really enjoyed it.

Got a GT-R NISMO from a 5⭐️ Daily, not complaining about that.

Decent week.
Race 1: Civic EF.
Tuned to 450PP on the stock comfort medium tires and packing 200HP from a B series motor sourced from a totaled Integra, I was surprised at how agile and predictable this Civic was despite being on tires intended for your neighbor's Versa. Easy win.

Race 2: Ferrari 250 passo corto.
Costing more than the train that shuttles folks around the circuit, this classic piece of Italian perfection was a hoot around the tight twisty turns of Eiger.

Race 3: Audi e-Tron VGT.
Not really much to say. I took a photo with the backmarker Suzuki though so....yay?

Race 4: Viper GT3-R.
Close race for sure. Got the lead at the end of lap 6 and barely held it to the checkered flag. Those AI Vipers are no joke.

Race 5: Toyota TS030.
I keep forgetting about this car. This race made sure I no longer forget. What a great car! Thankfully the rain stayed away, and Lucas Ordonez had a galaxy brain moment and pitted on lap 8 and 10, giving me a 19 second lead, which I held to the end.

Daytona was fine, but Trail Mountain really exposes just how suboptimal ALL the Vipers are (even the GT3 car).

I went with Viper for the current Manufactures Cup 😭

I didn't find this event race that bad with the Viper GT3 though, I was only using normal difficulty but found the race easy to win.

On hard difficulty the Vipers are tuned to the max, with the newer Vipers pushing about 1,000HP. Imo it's one of the toughest Special Event series that they've cooked up.

I've done and won the Viper race yesterday with a conventionally tuned 750 PP Viper GTS '13. I must admit I really struggled and the two wins I achieved were hard fought.
I've now built a Chiron-engine-swapped monster tuned to the max sitting at around 850 PP. Winning became easier of course although I'm not good at tuning and had a hard time keeping that thing under control, but it's not that I could "demolish" the AI competition. These guys still keep up and I wonder whether PD lets us run against the swap versions next time.
But whatever ... I got NOS onboard that I haven't used yet !

I've been taking my time on the weeklies this week. Been practicing for the final round of Manu Cup instead. I got the first three out of the way this morning, though (hard difficulty).

High Speed Ring - Suzuki Swift Sport '17 - Completely stock. Easy win. First ticket obtained.

Eiger Nordwand - DS Automobiles DS 3 Racing '11 - I put on sport soft tires, which brought the PP a little over the suggested limit. Another easy win. Second box checked.

Kyoto - Bugatti VGT - The hardest part of this race was getting this beast of a car under the PP limit. Maxed out power restrictor. Maxed out ballast. And a bit of ECU tweaking, too. Super easy win. Second ticket obtained.

i also used swapped and won only mostly thanks to amazing top speed. Really hard to get out ofcorners ,but i didnt tune transmission at all ,should have done it.

Still catches me even using brake markers.

My terrifyingly strong glasses allow me to see the whole world in HD, but I STILL cannot see the entry into Turn 1 at Autopolois. I find it using just vibes.

We need Sight Beyond Sight to truly find Turn 1's entry:

On hard difficulty the Vipers are tuned to the max, with the newer Vipers pushing about 1,000HP. Imo it's one of the toughest Special Event series that they've cooked up.

They have some interesting physics going on too, exiting corners with racing hards with the TCS light barely flickering and leaving me in the dust while I have the light just about to burn out - on racing softs.

I first tried with the GT3-R on hard tyres, winning might be possible, but not cleanly for sure. Then a 920 bhp SRT10 on softs, fast enough, but not comfortably so to get the bonus. And finally a fully tuned (not swapped) GTS '13 to just get it done, I don't like road cars THAT fast but it's what it took this time. The fastest AI cars lapped at 1'49s so with the ~12 second gap in the beginning being able to do 1'47s is needed to win. And that doesn't take into account getting stuck in traffic.

Well as per usual I have done my weeklies on Hard AI with PSVR2 driving and here's my weekly choices
(Not sure what the hell happened to the image quality this time, but it should be readable enough)

1. lightly modified Mazda demio XD - might have made the mistake of combining a low range turbo with a close ratio - low transmission, meaning it's power craters at high revs...on A HIGH SPEED CIRCUIT...still won though, mainly in the corners, but it was closer than I'd like
2. Highly modified Abarth biposto on sport mediums - this one was also surprisingly close, though I opted for no turbo upgrade not just to fit in the pp limit... but because I just didn't want one, the car itself is a joy to drive though. Got the final overtake just before the final corner
3. FT-1 VGT on racing mediums - this one was actually possible unlike some other tracks in the VGT series, the EV leaders suck at the corners - despite the jaguar having racing softs - I was still able to confidently win this race, but this car if extremely temperamental...
4. Highly modified dodge viper on racing softs - how the hell is this the 2nd terrible viper exclusive race IN A ROW, maan I love the viper but these have been consistently terrible races due to weird track choices....
5. Completely stock SRT tomahawk Gr1 on racing medium tyres - this one was also closer than I'd like, despite being able to no pit the race and this car being 2nd best in Gr1 on tyres ..the front tyres still died by the end of the 10 laps and I had to fight chronic understeer on the final lap with the opponents breaking down my neck

Overall I think this week hasn't been too bad and much better than the last few have been.

OK, thanks for confirming. I came to this thread to see if others thought this was a good challenge or I just had a bad tune. I love the tight competition and hope PD does more special events like this, but I wish they would do it with a car that is more enjoyable to race.

Did 6 Eiger today with 6 different cars .
5 CRB and lost one .
Get daily mileage and close to 300k .
Cars was stock except tyres and around 500pp much or less .
Pity that not allowed Japan cars but I'll continue exploring to Europe and old beauties around 90's or earlier.

The Viper race is no joke. I just grabbed the Viper SRT GT-R '15 and raced it as is. On Normal difficulty I get ahead at the end of lap 3 and win by about 10 seconds at the end. Just under 13 minutes total time, 1:48.5 fastest lap. The thing is, I only race these for the clean race bonus, and with how slippery this car is with my driving style, it's damn hard.

Anyone know the best Viper to use for this race, and the best tune?

Did few more Eiger runs yesterday.
Best feeling with the two BMW's of 89 with SM tyres and Renault R5 80 with SS tyres.

The Evo Bmw had only tyres the 89 alone had tyres and air filter or exhaust ( don't remember exactly ) and was around 505 pp both.

The R5 had low turbo and SS tyres around 506 pp or something like that .

I tried much more and as a fourth option i can say that was Lancia integrale ( same range pp ) .

To cut a long story short, yesterday i got more than a million from Eiger using the majority of older cars and the loss of CRB was about 5 to 1 .

I got the Viper race done on hard difficulty. I tried a couple times with a stock Viper SRT GT3-R '15 on RS tires, but the best I could manage was a P6. So I took a cue from @ROCKET JOE and built myself an insane engine-swapped beast.

Trial Mountain - Viper GTS '13 - I already had Chiron engine and stage-5 weight reduction in my parts inventory, so I started with those. Widened the body and bought all of the race-level upgrades, the ultra-level ceramic brakes. I went with RS tires. Increased the transmission top speed to 520. This thing is an absolute monster. Miserably difficult to drive. I won the race, but didn't enjoy it in the slightest. Glad to have it over and done with. Fourth box checked.

After putting more than hundred laps with various cars at Eiger , taking the CRB training help to get a secure the gold at previous TT 😜

Of course I'll keep on searching for handful and enjoyable cars but i don't think that many left .

I can see what you did there and why you like it...

Just tried out all sub500 Ferraris, both De Tomasos, the Maserati Merak, the Delta and the Stratos(all mostly stock, some with tire upgrades, all below 500PP and a tuned up 490PP '67 Giulia Sprint and liked any of those races(medium difficulty), got CRB with most of them on the first try and I am hooked to try more cars there...

(but I must admit that I am an some sort of alien here, because Eiger, in any direction, is one of my top 5 favorite tracks in the game...)

As much as i like Eiger i really hate the reverse layout ,i never try it twice in any weekly race .

Autopolis - Honda NSX GT500 '08 - I tried this a couple times on hard difficulty, but couldn't get better than P8. Decided to lower the difficult down to normal. It was still a fight. I started on RMs, pitted on lap 7 for RSs. Was just on the tail of the P3 car going into the final lap, when it ducked into the pits. Same for the P1 and P2 cars. Made for an easy drive to the win. Final ticket obtained.

That Viper " class" is a nightmare , if it goes on we will need a shrink , at least some of us 🤣 .

Well thank god it is not just me.

I tried a stock Viper and they smoked me. Then I did the Gone with the Wind missions just to get the Gr. 4 one - only to be smoked again.

So, what should I do? Lower the difficulty (I'm on hard)? Get the Gr. 3? The thing is that these Vipers kinda suck. At least in this track.

It's tough one and i don't like the idea bouncing everywhere to win but .....
Anyway, before i even try it and remembering Daytona, i lower the difficulty to EASY without hesitation ( i use normal ).
I use gr3 with SS tyres and of course is forbidden - at least for me - any discussion about CRB 🤣 at that type of car- track compos .

On the other hand i understand fully all those who are excited with this race but that type of competition is way out of my league and mostly my preferences.
I prefer running at Eiger ( did more than hundred laps ) with " normal" cars than that doped Vipers .
I just did it because i have to and that's it.
The previous week had also a difficult race ( the AI was overpowered ) with 600pp limit at Atlanta but was doable , that Viper cars are hilarious overpowered and the bowling race is unavoidable.

Of course that's what am thinking based on my preferences but i don't blame or envy those who are excited about it .

Swapped cappuccino probably the easiest way to win 600 races. That thing is op in that 600 pp class

I just showed up with the LF A (Detuned I think) and just some racing hards and that did the trick for me. Now that I've fully built it into a replica of the Nürburgring 24 Hour car, 600 PP races will be even easier.
