had a couple of mistake at Daytona went to fuel map 6 to make it to half way to pit to make it to the end.
the evo lancer did a good job at Nürburgring gp i picked it due to its fast acceleration off the starting line.
had a clean race bonus from the world rally and Japan races.
won a part for the Alphard and a zonda from the car ticket.

Mixed week really, some were good fun at least. FR Challenge is quite easy and fun as it gets dark, at least cars of that speed suit the layout. Wasn't so keen on the Kangoo one make again due to the AI having tuned vans but they're on CS, there's no way to catch up with a stock van and the other one I have is fully tuned which meant I won by over 50 seconds. World Rally Challenge I really enjoyed because I love driving the Gr.B cars on tarmac, loved that it got dark too but I wish it was a longer race. I really didn't enjoy WTC 600 as it's one of the worst examples of the chase the rabbit stuff where one or two cars are insanely fast and the rest just slam on the brakes mid corner to slow you down as much as possible. It's also a bad example of how much the field can vary in pace, I tried a few times in either stock or lightly tuned road cars and wasn't able to win, even on a good run the AI was running low 2:10 for the last two laps. Would've needed to run under 2:08 every lap to win against the fastest field which I don't see being possible in something close to stock. As usual I switched to a quicker car and got a slow field so I ended up winning quite easily which was slightly disappointing. Daytona was good fun though, nice that it runs into the evening and it was the perfect chance to use the Genesis VGT Gr.1, that car is stupidly fast on the straights which made it a reasonably easy win, even if the 908 was running 1:29 laps towards the end. Just ran map 1 and RM/RM without too much trouble, although that car does have excessive tyre wear.

Decent set of races this week. Especially enjoyed the last three races, might give them another go.

Tokyo Expressway - Central Clockwise_.jpeg

Went for a stock Sileighty for the first race. Handles well, and its fun to drive at this track. This track has been growing on me a lot since its appearance in the Civic special event a couple weeks ago. Custom races here can be exhilarating.

Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit_.jpeg

I bought a brand new Kangoo for this race, because my other one is maxed out with modifications. I wanted to make this race interesting, and a new one wasn't expensive. All I did to it was sports brakes and pads, sport suspension, SH tires and the wing. It's a really meh car overall to drive, but I like that its in the game.

Alsace - Village_.jpeg

Chose the Impreza Gr.B for this race, and surprisingly its a bit of a rocket that can be challenging to drive at speed. The constant changing track altitude makes it extra squirrelly, and I love it. Maybe I'll try one of the Group B cars next.

Nürburgring GP_.jpeg

Wanted to drive an older car for this one instead of another boring supercar. The Alpine is such a good car, especially for the price. Considering how the other 60s race car cost millions, this thing must be the best value if you want a fast, efficient race car that's not a sterile modern car. Highly recommend trying this race with this car.

Daytona Road Course_.jpeg

Daytona was great. I haven't driven the 962 C in a while and forgot how insane it can be at full tilt. Maybe its because I lowered the aero a bit but if you don't have precise control its easy to spin out. Stayed at FM1 until I got to first, then pitted after lap 4, and went FM5 the rest of the race. Just one set of RM tires too.

Got a Stroke S part for an '04 Impreza STi, yay. Also got 5k credits for my daily ticket. Yay. But really happy with my six star car, got the Ford GT LM Test car which I have yet to own. Excited to try it in some Gr.3 races.

Daytona was fun!!!

2 stopped it, pitted end of lap 4 including tires (needed to short shift a bit to get it to lap 4), and then again end of lap 7 for fuel only.

Overtook the leader on the last lap, won by 0.6s (using the Peugeot 908)
Yeah the 908 works well here, I did a one stop pitting on lap 6 for fuel and tyres, did FM6 and RM tyres all race long.

Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Man With a Van

A final set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges for April 2025 is becoming available to players around the world as local clocks tick into Friday morning, as five new races rotate into this special bonus mode...

When it comes to the weekly challenges, I usually stick to doing events I haven’t completed yet, but this Kangoo one-make sounds like it could be real fun, especially given that the car itself is very affordable. I already had one that I was planning to leave as-stock, but now I’ll likely get a second to modify. (Though I don’t think I’ll invest too many credits into engine tuning, in case it gets an engine swap. I especially imagine the SR20DET would be very appropriate!)

Just so you’re aware a fully upgraded Kangoo is overkill for this race and a kangoo with only mods from sports upgrades isn’t fast enough

The Kangoo race is surprisingly fun, I had racing hards on mine so it just flew around the track. The final challenge is a miserable experience, lordy I hate that Daytona track, no idea why but I cannot get on the exits there at all, i find them so slippery and the AI cars FIRE out of corners like they are on rails, i tis such an annoying experience.

There's too many kooky tacks in these weekly challenges, would like to see more straight up regular tracks.

Japanese FR Challenge 450: Lexus LC 500. Been abit but once again, stock setup with Racing hards. Easy come, Easy go.
World Rally Challenge: Honda NSX GR.B. Had no idea I could've used a Detuned GR.3 car prior but still won so whateves.
World Touring Car 600: Honda Civic Type R Touring car. Didn't say I couldn't use it, that and its funny just whipping by Porsches and Astons in this.
Gr.1 Prototype Series: Toyota TS050. Got this from a Ticket recently and figured I might as well use it. Didn't even have to fuel save to reach lap 6 before pitting so this seems slightly OP as a choice for this race.
Renault Kangoo One-Make: Given the short nature of the track, Not even the horsepower advantage of the AI was enough to stop me. In reality (depending the state of your kangoo), you only need to brake in 5 of the 11 corners as most can just be done with a slight lift off the throttle.
