Weekly Hot Hatch Series

Well the Integrale problem is easy enough to solve, I think: round up so it can compete in Class 1 competition against vehicles that are more its peers than Class 2 hatchbacks...ah, never mind, I just saw the rules change. Oops.

it really is, cars like this are so underrated haha :P

what did you choose in the end? any hints? ;)

Tuned up a used Corsa I bought not long ago because I liked the colour  Now I need a car for class 1 races... I'm thinking maybe a Golf?

ooh so we can race in both classes? thats good i can use both the clio and the 106.

haha a Corsa, interesting. any hints at a time? ;)

This is not really fun in my eyes...people will just use Skid recovery and what not to make sure they end up 1st............

Morning guys, just thought I'd let you all know that it's perfectly fine to race in both classes (had a couple enquiries about that).

hmmm.. Hope I can join this. Suggestion though... Might be useful to use a standard format for the email subject heading so you can sort them faster. :D

Like WHHS Week 1 - 1:05.368-freedomweasel-Subaru Impreza WRX STi '07

I'd just like to add that this would probably be a lot more interesting if you limited it to FWD hatches. Including cars like the STI means any FWD car will be destroyed.

And a lower tire restriction is usually more fun.

What about car that is classified as both hatchback and coupe, for example car like the dc2 and dc5 integra

I've had a look at these two. Well, as far as I can see, the Integra's have a pretty distinct rear extension that can safely be called a boot/trunk. I'm afraid it's not eligible-I just don't think other racers will be too happy with it.

Have you decided how the season winner will be determined? Total time? Total number of wins?
Also is there a prize of some sort or bragging rights only?
In any event it's fun to see where we stack up against other people.

We need more entries, come on folks tune up a hatch and put down a good time!

I'm gonna try and bang in some more times later tonight with the 106 and send them in, possibly give the clio another run.

i'd love to know what the current standings are with times!

I also hope people are being respectable and have the Anti Skid aid off :P

Looks like you're just a half second slower than me with your clio, I bet you can find that somewhere.

Both of my cars were done with ABS1 but thats it.

Such a fun track though, so much time can be gained or lost in those hairpins. I don't think I've been able to get each corner perfect all in one lap quite yet so I'll probably go back and give it another go before the 14th.

I think we should post some photos of our cars up on track too, that way we can all see what we're up against :)

God this challenge sure is fun to attempt, just recently tried out a fully-tuned 106 Rallye, and it zips around the corners like a bee, really fun :D

Might attempt a run in the 2.0l+ class later if i can think of a hatchback i like which is in that class ^^, Sent my time to the OP :)

i'm in just gonna try some different cars
got a 1:06,640 with the cr-z(yes with sfr, and i know but i always drive with that planning on buying a good steering wheel then i'll stop using sfr)

Dang, that's a whole second faster than my time. I'll have to go see if I can get it a little faster. I think there's another .5 in my lap somewhere, but more than that and I'll have to tweak the suspension a bit more.

Just finished blasting around in my little 106 S16. absolute BEAST of a car xD

1.08.141 is what i am at and calling it a night for now. Theres still plenty of time to be found.

and as for the Clio, havent bothered so far, the Peugeot is so much fun!

DS3 and no SRF. :P Be Brave Sir!

did 107,635 without sfr

good on ya. thats not bad! i find that SRF doesnt seem to be worth much for me. around 0.5s? though that could be because of my car and lack of experience with SRF. I'm only gonna submit non SRF times though.

about to send in a 1.04.6 with the Renault Clio, it just doesnt feel as fun as the 106, so i cba with it xD

i only did 2 laps so i could probably improve on my time. for me it's a full second difference SRF on/off

Well, the Series exists essentially for bragging rights!:) Also, I can see that it's fast becoming more competitive, which is a good thing.

The winner of the season will be determined via a points system. Obviously, I can only award the points when all the positions have been finalized - which will be at the end of the first week. At the end of every week, I'll make a post here updating you on everybodies standings for the season. As for the points, the winner of each class will gain 50, for every next position the points will decrease by 2. 50 is a high number - the reason I've chosen it is to accomodate for any late comers to the Series (I really don't want to lose out by turning away drivers!)

At the end of the season I'll be uploading the completed spreadsheet that I'm using to track drivers, times, points, cars, etc. Anyway, I'm glad to see everyone's having fun. Happy racing, and do put the word out to get more drivers in!👍

EDIT: All new drivers please note that the original post is in fact a leaderboard. You can monitor your fellow racers times as they're being submitted.

Is the AE86 Toyota Trueno/Levin classed as a hatchback, as it is in real life?

Just joined the forum so I can take part in this, getting a bit bored of only playing against myself.

The 205 T16 is coming out the garage again ;) Cannot wait, better get this work done!

i really wanted to use that haha. but i didnt want to risk objections from using a rally version of the car, even if its sold exactly the same for the road! :D

4WD = fail :P

Finally managed to bag a clean ish lap though. so close to the 1.06's I want to scream. curse the GT5 addictions haha

Yes, the Levin is classed as a hatchback and is legal.
