Weekly Race Series, Week 18

This is gonna be Fun.
I'll put up some times tonight.

well now my car selection is down to about 3 cars, but oddly my choices are being cut down due to my own political ideals... ie, the oreca being a french team who I will not race with. (at the moment as I love that oreca)

I will decide by the end of the day, but for now I think the s2000 is also looking good... along with the rx7, my choices are looking like the norm compared to what is posted.

I also wanted to state the "not too, but still obvious" fact that this is not gonna be a race of the best car overall, but the best car for the person.

The way you drive is what should drive car selection.

I know what you mean out of all the automobiles i've tried the Viper suited best for what i had in mind for it ,But as you know it's GUBBED,sorry thats my new saying so i wont be using that
The RX-7 is a bit on the loose side for my liking ,but great car none the less,I need to find the right setup and it should be good

I Think I'll go for the Dodge Oreca Viper GTS-R.

I looked up some Past Race's and One Of the races was
Gillet Vertigo @ Rome Circuit. Besides, I dont like Rome's twisty turns , How bout A Race at Complex String. That Would be Fun. Agree?

Indeed, the rx7 is the car to beat at the moment due to the cars overwhelming versitility.

At any race or hp, the rx7 has an amazing level of compitancy, which is yet to be matched by any car in the game. IMO.

I think its because the game is from japan, and Im guessing the rx7 is the best gt car from japan... hence, the "generous" representation of its best attributes.

I think the oreca is also like this...

Poly did a good job of looking at real world success and allowing that to influence a cars abilities in the game...

for example...

787b (only japanese car to win 24 hours of le mans overall title)

The oreca (gts titles in several leagues)

The gt40 with its awe inspiring power and wins at lemans.

Those are just a few, but serve as ample evidence of real world influence on the game's cars and the designers favoring certain cars. (of course this is all just an example of the conspiracy theorist in me ) jk.

But if any of you have noticed what Im talking about, go ahead and mention it.

Also, back to the point of this post...

Im settling down with a few cars and the current pace is at about 37.4 with really sloppy laps.

Finally I have my choises down to a few cars

I'm getting 21.0 / 38.5 and I hate this Track, those corners induce So Much Understeer. I realy liked the Jaguar but this Track doesn't suit it one bit


Did I mention I really hate this Track

well, ran two cars so far and the best T1 I got was 21.0xx and T2 I haven't broken 37 yet, but on the verge of it. Well, after checking my Camaro it is ruined with over 600 miles on it . back to testing

I finaly found my car

T1 20.9
T2 37.7

But I must say I really hate this track. Hopefully I'll get better once I find the best lines and a good Gear Setup

gave this another go earlier today w/ the car im probably gonna use, got a new best time of 20.2/36.6. I have got a 20.0 once or twice, so i think w/ some more practice and tweaking of settings its sure to come down some more

*EDIT* Boo ya! After some more laps w/ my Mopar ive got a new best of 19.8/36.5, and all that time was made up on the track too, i havent even touched my settings since i intially set em up from my stab in the dark. they seem to be working pretty well so far. Once i feel ive maxed out my times i'll start adjusting em. I still see more time coming off tho, ive just about nailed the first part of the track, but i still need some work on the latter half. Alrighty, off to test some other cars now.

*Edit Again* I dont know how I did it, but after constant 20.2's and 37's w/ the RX7 I just exploded w/ it and got a 19.8/36.6 and an overall laptime almost identical to my Oreca time. Man im lovin this...off to test another car.
